9 being reincarnated part two

Previously...

But before I could continue I finally realized were I was.

In a crib, in the middle of a forest, with no one other than me around.

'Well Shit'.

Present...

(3rd Pov)

Chaos forest. A name that strikes fear in any adventures heart, and for good reason to.

Located between the kingdoms of light and the beastman country plytopia, it serves as an repellant against any would be attacks for both sides as no man wishes to go through it.

The reason being it's insanely high concentration of A-S ranked monsters.

Not to mention one of the few SS ranked monsters resides there.

However none of this seemed to bother a man who looked to be in his fourties wearing black and gold priest robes, as he walked through the forest weaponless, with only a book in hand; humming as he did so.

(??? Pov)

"Beautiful. That would be the only way to describe the forest."

"Grass so green and soft it almost like a dream."

"Flowers so colorful in nature you wish you could always stay."

"Tress ao big and tall it's like something out of a fantasy."

"Animals unbound and always free."

"Truly a sight to see."

"But best of all."

" it's untoched by humanity"

Sighing slightly as I finished reading my poem, I shut my book transporting it to my pocket dimension with a silent *poof*.

Looking at my surroundings my shoulders slumped as I realized that I once again, without me realizing, spaced out, getting me lost in the process.

Deciding I should retrace my steps I sat down in the grass realaxing slightly as I did so.

Closing my eyes I concentrated, trying to remember the direction I came.

After what seemed like hours, but in reality was barely five minutes I had it.

Slowing standing up and popping my back I was about to head south towards a path that leads towards sulcan, the city were I reside.

That was until an ear piercing scream echoed through the forest, stopping me in my tracks.

Spinning on my heel I started sprinting torwards the source which was south.

Along the way thoughts raced in my mind.

' From what I can tell it's definitely a baby '.

Dodging a few stray branches with relative ease I continue forward.

'But that begs the question what the hecks a baby doing in chaos forest?'

Looking in front of me a ravin a few acres wide came into view.

Seeing this I ran faster than befor and activated the runes on my shoes.

Squatting slightly, I jumped.

I went soaring in the air, enjoying the feeling of the wind hitting my face while doing so.

Eventually after around thirty seconds in the air I saw the ground getting closer.

Even so I allowed myself to free fall for a little longer.

Once the ground came within 100ft I activated a different rune on my shoes, one which allows me to gently fall to the ground.

Once grounded I continued my sprint torwards the whaling sounds of a baby.

' If this keeps up it might attract monsters'.

' which while not a problem for me on my own, would be if I had to protect a baby while fighting.'

I was then snapped out of my thoughts as I heard the leaves of trees rustle behind me.

Looking back my eyes widened in surprise as it wasn't just the leaves rustling but whole entire trees.

' crap it seems that not only did it attract a monster but one of the big ones two, an S rank if I had to guess.'

Wanting to pick up the pace I casted (speed boost greater).

True to it's name my speed increased dramatically, resulting in me being nothing but a blur to the untrained eye.

Within seconds I was at the source of the crying.

It was I had suspected a baby.

However what I did not expect was the instantaneous silence once I appeared in front of it.

Looking around the area before anything else I concluded that it was safe, for now.

Turning my head torwards the baby once more I couldn't help but smile.

It was quite cute.

Picking it up I could instantly tell it was a boy without even checking.

Putting him into my arms, I rummaged through his crib with one arm.

After some searching I found a card that had his name and birth date on it, along with a note from what I assume was his birth parents.

Smiling after reading the note, I looked back to the baby in my arms.

" Your names Ariock huh?"

Of course the baby didn't speak back, it just stared back at me with it's warm gold eyes.

I raised an eyebrow at his behavior, after all you would expect for a baby to at least do something other than stare at you.

But I shrugged it off thinking that every baby has it quirks.

" now what should I do with you?"

"I can't just leave you here now can I?"

Thinking a little I decided I might as well take him with me.

Since I can't have children I might as well adopt one.

Looking down a genuine smile came to my face.

"Well little one it looks like your coming with me."

With a wave of my free hand the crib the baby was in slowly shrunk down to a size of a watch.

Once shrunk I bended down grabbed the crib and put it in my left pants pocket.

Turning around to the way I came I began walking while thinking.

' Normally I wouldn't do something like this, however what that note says worries me.'

Please who ever finds this take care of my baby boy.

We couldn't take care of him as it was to much of a risk to our and his safety.

The power he holds is so much to bare so please to who ever finds him help him with his burden.

I know this is a lot to ask of a stranger so I hope who ever finds this is a kind hearted man or woman.

Thank you and goodbye

The fact of the matter is that, the letter wasn't lieing.

Ariock's magic potential is staggering.

His magic reserves are bigger than an elite class mage's.

Who ever were his parents must not have wanted the heat that came with varing a child such as this.

Any country would kill to have such an valuable asset.

I was brung out of my muses when I felt something twitch in my arms.

Looking at the baby, I was confused as he didn't move an inch.

Then I felt it again and again faster each time.

Realizing what it could be I turned the babe around.

When I did I was surprized at what I saw.

Two wings, both a transparent white with gold in them.

While surprising, it wasn't anything to freak out about, as there are half dragon's and angels here and there.

I turned the babe around and looked into his gold eyes once more before smiling.

" just one more reason to keep you I guess".

With that I continued walking torwards the way I came.
