18 A history lesson

The Kingdom of light in some eyes is seen as the penical of humanity, in others it's seen as a place of confinement, restrictions, and evil.

This divide in opinion is caused by a few factors.

Unlike the majority of the world this country hasn't given up on it's old ways, which wouldn't always be a problem as some of the old ways are effective.

However the ways of the Kingdom of light are unacceptable and morally wrong to all but themselves.

They see all being that aren't human, angels, or holy creatures as monstrositys that needs to be eliminated.

They would constantly try to 'quell' smaller countries of Beastmen and other non-human lifeforms.

The only reason none tried to get rid of the kingdom was because of its overwhelming military force.

However that hesitation to face them came to an end when the spark of revolution became clear to those who watched closely.

The citizens of the kingdom who weren't  dedicated zealots began to realize the folly of there home and the atrositys that it committed.

It started small with miniature patches of equal rights protesters, which were quickly killed for there "treasonous actions".

This action was a major mistake as it showed that the leaders they thought were Holy knights who smites the forces of evil, we're in fact power hungry evil bastards.

Even with this push though, no one dared to rebel fully.

Until the actions of one man ingnited the flames of war.

                                  -X-

' There is a question one must ask them selves before going into any battle.'

'Am I willing to die for my cause'.

' If the answer is automatically yes with no hesitation whatsoever  than you are a mindless fool, who can't think past the overall outcome of the cause your supporting'.

'If the answer is immediately no then you are either a spineless coward who only cares about himself or have something worth living for'.

'Finally if you hesitate and think for either answer then you aren't a mindless fool nor a coward but rather someone who thinks about their actions and doesn't follow blindly'.

These were the thoughts of one Jericho Marksblade as he walked steadily on the busy streets of Dardimus one of the major cities in the Kingdom of light.

The reason for his visit was simple in his mind, to set the flame of rebellion.

It had been around a year and a half since he had to disappear out of the publics eye, for obvious reasons.

Since then he had been slowly but surely planting seeds of mistrust and hate towards the kingdom of light, and it was working for the most part.

Small patches of rebellion were spreading.

All he had to do now was create an event that would get all of those who think of rebellion to rebel.

Knowing that put a smile on Jericho's face.

'Honestly it was quite easy getting to this point the amount of hidden loathing in the people hearts is massive. Really it was only a matter of time before the Kingdom fell apart I just sped up the process.'

Slightly frowning Jericho's thoughts continued.

'However for as much as I Despise this place I must admit there city's are rather beautiful'.

This, was true.

The city he was in alone was filled with streets lined with pure gold and houses that each were fit for a noble.

Shops, food markets, other market places were no exception, when you went into one it felt as if you walked into a mall rather than a single shop.

Even in the slums there homes were in all consideration still nice.

Though as dandy as this all was it came at a price.

All citizens are constantly under watch, with each and every moment of their lives being analyzed and studied by specialist who make sure that they have complete loyalty from there people.

Any who are suspected of a lack of loyalty are questioned until proven innocent.

If your proven guilty you die simple as that.

This made Jericho visiblely cringe.

' ...In truth this is rather effective, fucked up, but effective. The constant fear of being arrested for " a lack of loyalty" makes it so most wouldn't even think about committing a crime and keeps everyone in line. '

'Though this does bring up a lot of problems. Such such as hidden hate,  a lack of loyalty (Ironically) and more.'

Nodding his head in agreement to himself he continued walking towards his goal.

                                  -X-

Jericho's plan in simple terms was risky.

It consisted of five parts.

1. Break into the news station located in the middle of the city.

2. Hack into said news station and broadcast himself across all platforms.

3. Say a awe-inspiring speech that would rally those behind him.

4. Get the fuck out of dodge and leave the city.

5. Gather his forces and attack the city hopefully taking over it.

Jericho was betting on the idea that because of his speech the overall moral of the troops defending the city would decrease significantly.

His troops while strong aren't high in numbers, he didn't have enough soldiers to fight a fully ready city like Dardimus.

This was his best bet.

However he was facing a dilemma he didn't expect, what was he supposed to say?

Knowing what he would say would either make or break this operation he slightly panicked, but calmed himself soon after.

He knew what he would say, the truth.

Now confident in himself he looked      upon the giant building in front of him.

It stood at nearly twenty stories in height, shined with the color of bronze with specks of gold, and had the words " Righteous news" ingraved at the very top of the building.

In all it was so shiny Jericho had to resist the need to look away.

Squinting his eyes he walked into the building pushing the doors open as he did.

Looking around Jericho could only raise an eyebrow at the interior.

It was quite baren with no sight of gold anywhere. The floor was made of marble, and the walls were painted a light grey. The size of the floor was around that of a foot ball field.

The only sounds being heard on the floor being the music coming from some speakers.

Shaking his head at the humor of the situation( as he didn't expect the interior to be so modest) Jericho looked for a males bathroom before heading towards it.

Once inside he waved his hand slightly casting a magic spell silently, which disabled the cameras inside the room ( yes there are cameras inside the bathroom) and magically locked the door.

"Well" said Jericho placing his hands against the wall.

"Let's do this."

Pulsing his magic through it he was able to gain an understanding of the building infrastructure, along with a detailed layout of what rooms were which etc.

Getting what he wanted he took his hand off the wall before smirking.

'This might be easier than I thought. The security is pretty lax and the place doesn't even have a teleportation block like I assumed it would. '

Deciding not to waste anymore time Jericho pressed a button on his belt  disappearing in a flash of blue.

                                -X-

- ten minutes after teleporting, broadcasting room-

With a huff Jericho killed the last guard standing in his way with a silenced pistol.

'Man I'm a little rusty when it comes to detection magic, I was sure there weren't this many guards a second ago.'

When Jericho arrived at the objective he was quickly greeted with a small legion of guards each holding a standard magic pistol and magically enhanced sword.

For most dealing with this amount of troops alone would be troubling, but for Jericho?

Child's play.

With brutal efficiency he practically obliterated them within 45 seconds.

Finished with the guards Jericho studied the room.

In the middle bolted to the floor was a table shaped like half a circle. The body was made of Birch wood while the top and bottom was made with red wood.

The sides of the table were covered in markings of the so called "Goddess of humans".

Each marking was either a singular flaming eye or a fist with its hand open, holding a White flame.

Bright lights shined down on the table making the markings seem to glow a faint yellow.

In front of the table slightly behind the numerous cameras surrounding it was a large black stand.

On top of it is a medium sized flat screen TV, which ( from what Jericho could guess) was used to show words of the script to the news people in case they forgot something.

Behind the table a large glass painting stood, with a orange/red hair color, blue eyes with the trims being yellow and a moderate build was Zora the Goddess of humans.

Or as Jericho referred to her as, the  mega bitch.

The reason for such a disrespectful nick name was the history the two had.

Let's just say the last time the two met both came out with some injuries, and a whole town may have been destroyed.

Just thinking about it made Jericho subconsciously rub his shoulder, the place where the goddess stabbed with a holy sword.

Shaking his head to clear his thoughts Jericho walked behind the table before summoning a chair from his pocket dimension.

The chair wasn't anything special, just red and black, along with being made of wood.

Sitting down Jerioch let a sigh escape his mouth.

He knew once he did this there would be no backing out, or giving up.

Once he did this war would begin and it wouldn't stop until there was a victor.

With one last sigh he steeled his resolve and looked at the cameras before turning around and snapping his fingers, activating the large screen behind the cameras which started to (in a robotic voice) count down from five.

"5"

The markings of Zora slowly started to disappear.

"4"

With the disappearance of the markings of Zora new ones took there place.

"3"

The new markings showed symbols of equality and tranquility.

"2"

The glass painting behind Jericho was slowly covered by a green mist.

"1"

Once the painting was fully covered the mist turned into a new image one of a multitude of species joined together in a circle.

"You are live"

Putting on a facade of no emotion Jericho turned around to face the cameras.

"Hello citizens of the kingdom of light,  my name is Jericho and I will be your host for to night". He said with a tone that demanded obedience.

                                 -X-

The speech Jericho would give that day would be known through history as one of if not the most powerful speech ever given.
