RADEN KANIYASA KILLS KURAMBA

Prabu Kuramba is the son of Ditya Singasari who had kidnapped Dewi Satapi and eventually died at the hands of Arya Sadaskara. After the death of his father, Ditya Kuramba studied with a giant priest named Resi Saniwara. After getting supernatural powers, he conquered many giants to become his subordinates, and opened the Wanapringga Forest where his father lived to become a kingdom called Pringgadani.

Thus, King Kuramba grew in power and he sent Patih Saswamertyu to apply for Batari Wilotama in Suryaya Kahyangan. Because Batara Indra rejected the proposal, King Kuramba followed and went on a rampage to storm the defenses of the gods.

It was then that Raden Kaniyasa and Arya Darmaruci appeared before the giants. Both claimed to be the masters to crush the heavenly enemy. Prabu Kuramba was very angry to hear that, especially when he learned that Arya Darmaruci was the son of Patih Sadaskara and Dewi Satapi. So, he attacked the young man to take revenge for his father's death. Arya Darmaruci was overwhelmed to face King Kuramba's attack. Seeing his cousin in danger, Raden Kaniyasa immediately confronted King Kuramba, armed with Sarotama's Arrow given by Batara Indra.

After fighting for so long, Raden Kaniyasa finally succeeded in killing Prabu Kuramba using the heirloom arrow. Seeing his king killed, Patih Saswamertyu chose to leave the Suryaya Kahyangan to return to the Kingdom of Pringgadani.
