Flashback. part two

Phoenix told them to wait for a loud noise. That is the signal for them to run. After explaining everything he walked out of the shadows. He didn't stay in the light for too long. He ran into another shadow and vanished. Scarmerine was crying, which made Vina so brave for him too. She wiped the tears off his cheeks with her tiny hands. She said,

"Don't cry Scar, me and big sister will protect you. And big brother will come back soon as he promised. Cheer up."

She put on a brave face and smiled at him. Scarmerine cleared his face and got ready to go with them.

Phoenix reached the center of the town by walking through the darkness. He stayed there for a second. He exhaled. Then he started gathering energy and started glowing. A green aura started emitting from him. It was more like the green aura was going inside him. He gathered enough energy and he released it.

The release caused an explosion. It was so bright and loud enough for anyone inside the town to see or hear it. The people started forming in two groups and they ran towards the center of the town.

That time a black and white fur cat appeared in front of one gang. The other gang was running towards the sight where Phoenix was standing. They reached the place where the explosion happened but they didn't see anyone around there. They started searching the area.

Phoenix watched them from the top of a half burned house. He started counting them. There were a total of 30 people and they started spitting up and Phoenix saw an opportunity. He decided to take them down one by one.

That time Scarmerine and Mina along with Vina ran towards the outskirts of the city. They had no idea where to go from there. Still they wished to get out of the town that was burning like hell. They kept looking back if anyone was following them.

Phoenix finished all of them one by one. He made sure that they were all dead. After that he started thinking,

'I already killed more than a hundred people, just how many have already infiltrated the town. And they knew all about me. Attacking me at the time of the eclipse when I have no power to begin with.'

After that he looked up. It's rare that there are two eclipses in one night. One is already finished and the second one can happen at any time and there is no way of telling how much time it takes to end. (In John's world there are three moons and most of the time they can see two of them.)

Phoenix watched around him. He felt some movement but he wasn't sure. Slowly it became dark. Only things visible were the burning houses. He stood in the middle of a burned down shop. Phoenix thought that the darkness was made by the clouds covering the moon but he was wrong. The second eclipse has already begun. He felt something behind him but it was too late. Something hit his head hard and he fell down.

It was one of the ones who burned the town. That guy took a can of petrol and put phoenix on fire. Phoenix burned alive. He got up and started running. That guy started laughing. But his laugh didn't last long because Phoenix ran towards him and before he could run, Phoenix grabbed him. The burning fire expanded and it killed that guy. He burned down to ashes.

The flames on Phoenix were burned out. Not even his clothes burned, he stood there like the fire was nothing. But the hit he got on the back of his head was still causing pain. He put his hand on his head and realized that he's bleeding. He walked towards Mina and everyone, slowly.

They were hiding behind a bush watching their town go down. Phoenix reached the place seeing Phoenix, Scarmerine got out of the bushes and ran towards him. Scarmerine hugged him. But it was not the end of their problems. Someone came out of the darkness and grabbed Mina. Phoenix saw that and tried to run towards her to save her. But after a few steps he fell down. Scarmerine became scared and stood there like he's a statue.

Vina cried out loud to save Mina. But that guy took Mina away. Vina ran towards phoenix and tried to wake him up. He didn't get up. Suddenly some more people came and one of them grabbed Scarmerine. Vina ran towards him and started hitting him. That guy tried to capture her too.

Everything happening around Scarmerine was too much for that little boy to take. He lost his control and screamed. His screaming created a shock wave and it blasted away the people who came for them. It was a miracle that the shockwave didn't even touch Vina or Phoenix who was lying on the ground. Vina became scared seeing that but still that young girl found the strength to move towards Scarmerine. She saw more guys coming towards them. She looked at phoenix, a drop of tear came out of her eyes.

She picked up Scarmerine's hand and pulled him. They started running. Scarmerine looked back at phoenix but Vina pulled him and they both ran away. The guys reached there and they picked up Phoenix like a dead body.

Something splashed on the face and Phoenix got up. He looked around. The place was dark. Still he felt that it's some godown. He saw people standing there. He also realized that his hands were tied and he's sitting on a chair. He saw that mina was also tied to a chair and she's sitting in front of him not too far. Phoenix started hearing a chattering sound. He looked at the door.

They came near the door. Phoenix got ready for the next fight. The door handle came down. Phoenix watched it closely. But suddenly it went up. There were two people standing and talking. He calculated the vibrations of the air and the friction a skin makes in the air. A face became visible to his mind and it was the young Michael before he became a priest.

The gang leader was explaining what all happened there in the town. Michael told him to finish off Phoenix and find the kids who ran away. Before that he told the guy to rape and kill the girl infront of him.

Phoenix became angry. He started glowing. The water they splashed on him started to move. He opened his eyes fully. The eclipse was over. He jumped himself and the chair he was sitting tore itself apart. The water started turning into sharp ice crystals. It started attacking everyone around him. Within seconds he finished them off.

He increased the heat on his arms to the point of lava and quickly the rope burned out. He silently walked towards the door and put his ears on it. The gang leader was coming towards the door. He came near and opened it. He saw his people lying down. He checked them if they were alive but none of them were.

He got scared and looked around. He saw Mina unconscious and sitting on the chair. But he didn't see Phoenix. Suddenly he felt a demon watching him from behind. He turned around and saw two green glowing eyes. It came towards him very fast and before he could realize what was happening he lost his head.

Phoenix calmed himself down and looked at mina. She was still unconscious. He untied her and picked her up as piggyback. Then he started walking out.

"Hey guys, are you two talking about the past again."

It was Vina. Scarmerine and Phoenix looked at her. They were talking about the past while she interrupted it. Phoenix said,

"Talking about the past gives us the energy to live the present and think about the future."

He got up and put his hand on her head. She smiled like the little girl she used to be.

She gave them some papers and left. Scarmerine took a quick peek and said,

"It's our queue to leave."

Phoenix smiled and asked,

"What is it now? A werewolf?"

Scarmerine become amazed and asked,

"How did you know that? Did someone tell you something?"

Phoenix didn't have a clue but it was a lucky guess. He said like he knows everything,

"I told you before, I can see the future."

Scarmerine looked at him with a long face and said,

"I don't think you have any powers like that, if you knew this problem before, you shouldn't be waiting here just like that."

Phoenix realized that tone of seriousness in Scarmerine's voice and asked,

"Is there any particular reason?"

He came near phoenix and said,

"Not just you, I think not even Vina knew about this mission."

Phoenix became impatient and asked,

"Don't make me guess. Just tell me what the problem is again."

Scarmerine exhaled heavily and said,

"It's a werewolf and it was found in our old town. Besides, this beast has a resemblance to Mina."
