“Are you sure you’re alright?” Kate asked.

Van drank the offered glass of water. Since the last time, he felt dizzy, but at least he was able to retain his consciousness.

“Tipsy, but I’ll do fine,” Van said. “In fairness this time I didn’t end up on garbage. What about the guy? Is he fine?”

“Yes, and Gilt already made him forgot what happened this night.”

“That’s the least you should worry.”

Gilt made himself feel at home. He grabbed a glass and poured it with wine.

“That’s vintage,” Kate said.

“And you’re a teenager.” Gilt lovingly jested. “Care to explain why you have beverages hidden on your flat?”

“For a vampire, you’re pretty good at sucking people.”

Gilt lifted his brow. Kate has effaced by the awkwardness. Van realized his mistake.

“Bad pun. Sorry.”

“Don’t be. I’m glad that there’s someone here who knows how to throw a pun, unlike this witch and the other weirdo witch who can’t even set his mind straight.”
