It has been a day since Gilt was locked up in their mansion’s cellar.

Regardless of that fact, time deed necessary to fix the problem before the timed and fortunate departure of Rick would come to an end. They were lucky enough that Rick wasn’t here to witness the loss of his guardian’s sanity. It was already problematic enough that they have to handle an uninhibited vampire, let alone have his nephew freak out.

Roxy had already explained to Kate several notions of being an uninhibited vampire. Though he regained a part of his humanity, Gilt might show withdrawal symptoms and emotional outbursts, something that any vampire must go through before they can be left stable. He was still a liability that they can’t risk to free.
