1 Manager!!!

Jade smiled as she saw the kid again this morning heading to work, he greeted her instead of getting mad at her like yesterday. She apologize to him for checking him out like that it was not fair for both parties. She put back all the candies and chocolates on her front desk and then did for Brie since she's not at work yet. Just in time, Dominic came over again, jade pretend she did not notice him standing in front of her she kept her head in the drawer seeming like she was looking for something.

"Jade you don't have to pretend to do that, I never know you would be thirsty for a manager position when you can't even handle good customer service" jade raises her head in confusion first of all she's planning to quit this bloody job secondly she will never apply for no manager position because she won't have a shot at it according to her assumption likely because Dominic and she have no friendly relationship.

"What in hell are you talking about," jade asked to be sure perhaps she must have heard him incorrectly.

Dominic picked up the sheet of paper from the desk as he placed it before holding the edge coat of his suit, it occurs to jade if he doesn't sweat in those.

"We both know how much you hate this job" he gestured at her with the paper in his hand,

"Thank you for reminding me of that" jade said putting on her glasses before she on the computer Stan.

"You wanna be a manager you have to be worth it, no one gets to the top with disrespect and so many egos" did Dominic just describe himself as trying to make her look bad?

"Who said that I'm not going to let you make me feel like an asshole" he threw the paper at her because she look surprised which was getting him annoying he thought she wants to get on his nerves having no idea jade didn't apply for a manager position.

"You're just wasting your time just like you did in the beauty industry and of course Anthony had just left for his master I wonder when you're going to even sit for jamb" he left, Dominic has been in her head for 24months of her life in TRUNTS and even as she struggle not to listen to his voice and his image in her head the devils keep showing, if he's not in her imagination he's in her reality, the best way to get rid of this person is to quit and disappear she can't deal with him, she open the file there was her name with a two votes that of Anthony and Brie, she did not apply for this position so how come she was still wondering when a costumer clear his throat, jade day must've claimed into bad however seeing this gentle man lit her spirit, people come in here and go but this particular person was different, she watch the sweats from his body dripped into his singlet, his body built and his biker short stops not too close to his knee, he placed two energy carton of drinks on the desk.

"Your boss giving you a bad day"? He finally asked as jade took so long to respond, jade quickly apologized her lips trembling and hands shaking, she had no idea where this was happening to her but whatever it was she liked it, the feelings and the way he looked at her.

"Technically I face that a lot every day speaking of which specifically he's a pain in the ass" he smiled as jade spoke to him the computer chimes as she took the products towards it.

"I think good bosses are like that, you might not see it now but I'm sure soon you're going to realize. On the other hand, he just wants you to face your fears and you're not going to do it if he's too soft" she listens to him throw highlight about Dominic according to jade he wasn't right because this man is a bully, bullies intentionally make life miserable for people not teaching life already taught her a lot that should be enough not needing that of Dominic.

jade watches the receipt print from the machine as she hands it over to him. He brought out his wallet took out the money and paid for it.

"You can keep the change" he looked at her tag before he took the drinks jade already package them with TRUNTS finest takeaways boxes.

"Thank you so much for the prep talk," he said she welcomed him as she walked out of TRUNTS. Just as he had a left jade kept thinking about him and his looks, when Brie came in rushing to her seats.

"You're like two hours late you're lucky no one asks about you, I hate to say this to you soon TRUNTS is going to have you fired," jade said to Brie who laughed instead.

"That can't happen if you're the manager, which I'm sure is going to happen" jade look so surprised she doesn't know how to react to this defo she was so mad at Brie she doesn't only get in her space she hates to mind the business that pays her, jade about to tell her some of her pieces when Brie cut in again.

"I had to sneak out of the hotel checking the time it was already past seven-plus the whole traffic thing, do you know the interesting part the one person who would have my salary deduct made me come late so why should I worry" Brie pointed out, telling the most part to jade how the sex went.

"I did not know how to repay you by letting me take the bold step so I had to get Anthony to vote for you, I need you to be the manager so you can get a big fat raise I know how much you hate this job doing it for bills and three square meal isn't enough reason for people like you jade," Brie said giving her the reason she thinks she's suited for the position.

"I am a good person Brie you and Dominic don't need to constantly remind me how much I hate my job, is not just enough now I have to feel bad to err out my discomfort" Brie sharply cut in after she heard the part she mentions Dominic name.

"Dominic was here? Did he ask about me" she asked desperately wanting to know what he had said this time.

"No he did not ask about you, the fact he had to call me things that are personally accrued to him is disgusting and for the record he said I'm not going to be the manager of TRUNTS, and guess what I did not doubt it one second so now next time you had to learn to mind your business" jade said clicking something on her computer when a consumer came in with her items so Brie doesn't have to speak till she's gone, it took over thirty minutes she did a transfer so she has to receive a confirmation call the money is already with TRUNTS, she thanks her even if she was getting annoyed for the late confirmation no way on earth jade was going to give her all the items simply because she showed her successfully on her banking app. She thanked jade as she left with her packages.

"So as you were saying" Brie cut in after she was done as well attending to a customer.

"Nothing to talk about Brie, I don't want any of these I don't wanna deal with Dominic and this stupid managing position" jade said putting the file in the drawer.

"Think about the money jade, how do you wanna start your beauty line or go back to school without a job this is Nigeria honey, everything goes with money and you haven't talked about your bills maybe you can rule for a year or plus by then you'd gather enough money," jade thought about it for a while Brie was right quitting might be the subject thing what about the rest that follows, if she doesn't get the position then she can quit Brie had given her a platform is left for her to make use of it.

"Anthony told me his vote counts times ten, you can have a chance if three more people have to vote your opponent without Anthony's vote is just a waste of time except if the whole TRUNTS doesn't vote then we are in trouble" jade looked more nervous.

"So we have to get more extra 3votes we are like 20 employees for what I know I'm not talking about interns and co-staff, TRUNTS isn't just some normal supermarket I don't think I can do this, hold on don't bust on me the fat check is enough reason I take it seriously we need to get this votes" Brie smiled the look on her face could tell she's very much excited her friend realize it.

"You will make a good manager I am sure of that, plus you don't have to put on the uniforms and sorts I missed the Dominic fights what does he want with you anyway can't he let you go".Brie asked, jade sighed before she have a seat.

"The more he acts like he doesn't care the more trouble, he said I won't be the manager of TRUNTS, if Anthony's votes could count so much then how much more is Dominic you know he will not vote for me plus he loves to see me fail just like he made my life miserable, my first month here who thought I could be here to this point" Brie felt emotional as she listens to her say all these, Dominic was a big bully until now he's still a bully, she bullied jade most of the reasons jade loves talking back at him whenever the situation gets heated up, she had gone through a lot and now wasn't the time to be worried about him.

"Maybe we had to convince everyone how good you are at least" jade cut her off saying Is the people's choose to vote for her of their own will, if she deserves the management duty it will happen if not so is still cool it doesn't stop the clock from ticking is still gonna be 12oclock either ways good or bad time gives zero fucks" jade said.

"Life is not fair, what are you doing Wednesday night," she asked, jade said she will be home sleeping so she can be up early in the morning heading to work.

"You have to go out sometime, my neighbor upstairs is having a party in this club across town" Brie try to catch up on the name of the club but she couldn't.

"You know what just go ahead okay, I think I still have the wine you gave me I will order some Chinese takeouts and chill at home what's worst than a lonely movie night," jade said opposing the fact of going out.

"Here is the silver linen, how about you hook up with someone for a nightstand!! I will come to pick you up and make sure you dress in one of your hot gowns. My neighbor is a socialite I am sure you can end up with some mystery guy Especially the Prince Charming you fathom in your head" jade looked at her surprisedly she never believes in mystery guys and Prince Charming Brie is more in a reality than imagination.

"I can't assure you but it kinda excites me you believed in mystery guys" jade blushed.

"Nope I don't, you can't simply see any of those if you don't step out once in a while, Wednesday I'd come over to pick you up, not taking a no for an answer," Brie said jade had to nod just so she can stop talking about it deep down she's not going to step out.

"Mystery guys are rare they are not everywhere- Brie cut in asking if this mystery guy has some sort of form or if they look like angels.

"Their attitudes are that of angels, they love unconditionally, respect, no cheatings- Brie started laughing again and jade knew she was doubting her.

"This is 2022, not 1800 wake up from your silly dreams, such men don't exist if you think it does then he's a liar and pretender or he wanna use you, men are the gender you don't trust you just have to live the moment" Brie advised.

"Love without trust is not love I wanna love vulnerably, not scared, not confused, not shallow I wanna give my all," jade said

"Then get ready to die 'cause that's what a dead woman would say if asked the cost of her death".
