Chapter One: What I found under the ground

Jackie Oriento continuous the story.

"Aaaah!" shrieked I, upon waking up from a nightmare. Fear held me tight, and sadness did the same to me as I was worried for a dream I had.

Growing up as a lad, my mother had become aware of this wonderous gift I possesd, and it also wasn't something new to me.

Clairvoyance, they calls it.

I was able to tell the future and sometimes see the past. This didn't really happen always, and I certainly couldn't get to choose and control when the visions came.

Never really knew how it worked, just like one didn't really know the secrets behind walking, we just knew we had to move our legs and see it done. It was naturally engineered that way, and so was this gift naturally given.

It had it's good times with me and also, the bad.

I had received a dream which I certainly couldn't tell if it were to come to pass or had already happened in real life.

The dream went like this: I was already sleeping like a peaceful child inside my room, when I abruptly heard the noise of a stranger jumping over our fence.

I instantly ran outside with no fear in me, to discover whom or what it was.

I suddenly set my eyes on a man snapping the neck of Niccko; our dog. And when the man was done, he went further to bury a paper-like thing under the ground.

I followed this stranger, whom I then witness take another life! This time, a human's!

I flinched, petrified, then before I knew it, I rose up to the realization that it was a dream I had been in- a vision I had seen rather.

I then rolled out of bed and fled outside to confirm this dream. Misfortunately, my eyes gazed upon the unseeable. It was the lifeless body of Niccko lying down on the ground with her already spilled out blood beside her.

"Why…?!" cried I in agony. "Who could have done this?!"

I went to her as tears danced down my eyes, and slid down my cheeks.

Although Niccko was just a dog, she meant a lot to me. Niccko had been there with me for a while and was truly man's best friend.

Still sorrowful, having tears brim my eyes, I had a sudden flash back of the paper that I saw burried deep under the ground. My mind drifted a little, and I was suddenly eager to find out what it was.

I went into the house, took a shovel, and began digging the ground. Though the lack of knowledge of where to find the particular spot of what ever thing I had seen in my vision, made it harder to find, still I dug here and there.

"Jackie!" Mama screamed from inside. Katherine was dressed in a long gown, and covered her upper body with a wide scarf as she was cold. "What are you doing? And what-? What happened to Niccko?"

With a sigh of breath out my mouth, I sobbed, "She's dead."

A shocking expression displayed on mother's face as she felt so. I narrated my dream to her, and she understood quickly. Katherine was fully aware of my gift, and saw the confirmation herself.

"Well, just let me know if you find anything." Katherine then went back into the house, and I continued digging.

Sweat trickled down my forehead as I vigorously dug. And finally…finally I had come across the marked spot and found the unknown item.

It was a dusty old paper- Just like the one I had seen in my dream. I carefully brought it out, dusted it and discovered it was a map of where to find a treasure.

"Mother!" cried I, with the paper in my hand. "Look what I found under the ground!"

Mama came outside just after she heard this.

She cried, "Jackie! What did you find?!"

I handed over the map to her and she stared deeply into it. She cried at last as she adored the map, showing a happy face whilst staring. "Wonderful, Wow! Jackie, this is a treasure map. We could be rich at last! Quickly, we must inform your uncle Green Bag at once!"
