Peter

Anicium Sapiens in short Anicens. What are they? They are humans, but half animals. They don't have ears, tails, or hair on all over the bodies. They look like ordinary humans. Then how to differ Anicens from ordinary humans? Look at their eyes. Usually, Anicens show their eye color in accordance with the animals that are in him. Even when they are angry sometimes their teeth, especially fangs, will also look sharper and longer. Other species will change their bodies when entering the natural world they live in.

For the example, fish, you can imagine Anicens aquatic species. As they enter their nature, then gradually, their bodies adapt in it. It's not the same as the theory of evolution about apes become humans that take millions of years. This change immediately occurred at that moment in their bodies after entering nature. Entering the water, the body will immediately scaly, fins, double webbed eyes, also breathing with gills.

Anicens is said to be an abnormality, not a demon. They are not the same as werewolves who have ears and tails, or mermaids with their tail legs and human bodies. Anicens is their soul, their mind, their genetics, make them adjust to their surroundings. They can not be seen only in one look, because they like us, humans. The difference is only the habits, abilities, instincts, and fatigue that are owned like every animal in existence.

Some Anicens can live a modern life like ordinary people. Sure enough some others there are abandoned and still act like wild animals. Marriage between humans and Anicens has also been rife because there is no prohibition. Still, this being displacement factor of Anicens children. Especially from breeds of cats, dogs, wolves, and mice. Most parents throw them away after feedings several months, some even directly abandoned without being loved and--

"Wendy! Don't keep writing! I'm hungry!" the boy whined next to the startled girl with brown hoodie jacket. She almost pressed the exit sign without saving the Observation Report data that she had been writing for days.

"Eat! Eat!" As usual, he always whine like this when hungry.

"I want meat!" His short body jumped up and down, trying to equalize Wendy's height.

The girl opened the refrigerator and took the fish, "We had it yesterday, today there were only fish."

The boy with dark gray hair growled, "Meat! I love meat! Meat!"

"There is no meat, the price goes up. Maybe now we will eat meat once a month," Wendy casually fried the fish in hot oil.

The kid's hum was increasingly annoyed. CHOMP! He bite Wendy's brown hoodie , chewing and growling. The veins that formed the intersection had already exploded on Wendy's temple. Then she conks him.

"Sit nicely!" she ordered. Although the boy's face still looks upset, but his body still obeys what Wendy said. The girl nodded in satisfaction, continuing cooking.

After the dinner, Wendy continues her work which momentarily distracted. Ignoring the little boy who is eating is like fighting over prey with the enemy. Even though he eats alone.

"Peter! Don't growl while eating! Remember the table manner I taught you!" Wendy said as the boy's voice increasingly disrupted his work.

Wendy sighed. It's time to continue the task.

***

A 15- year- old girl , Wendy, is one of the many people who take care for Anicens . Can be called a Guardian .

Peter, the Wolf. He is still one year old. Although apparently like humans, Anicens experienced more rapid growth. Peter, who is still one year old, is the same as a six-year-old human child. Imagine, it's getting higher, but he often bites the hoodie that Wendy wears, as well as sandals , shoes, even when angry he tried to bite Wendy's hands and feet.

Even so, Peter is an obedient and kind Anicens . Sometimes he helps Wendy do homework. At the age of 15 , Wendy lives away from home. His father always goes for a long time to work. His mother is also always busy being an ambassador. Wendy always think, rather than perched at home like a big house guard dog, she might as well live alone in a rented house close to school.

Is she lonely? No. Wendy feels this is better.

"Wendy! Wendy! Let's watch TV!" Peter sulked right after Wendy finished the task and was stretching.

She smiled and then stood up, "Yes, come on."

Peter walked cheerfully as Wendy stroked the dark gray silky hair. Just like a thick wolf's hair. Although never felt it directly, but she thought it just similar.

They sat down — Peter more precisely circled on the sofa first, then sat close to Wendy — and Wendy turned on the TV. A news broadcast about poaching Anicens was immediately posted.

Hunter

"Insolent wild Anicens will get no mercy. For the Guardians also if your 'pets' do something that disturbs the peace of the population and the environment... our weapons won't hold back," said Hunter leader. Wendy stared faintly at the man who had the hard, pitiless face.

To be honest, Anicens is not very respected as time goes by. A long time ago, the Anicens became friends and family to humans. But now, Anicens is treated as a slave and pet. All laws concerning the right to life of Anicens are slowly being abolished. One of them, "Article XX Number X year XXX says that Anicens is prohibited in hurting humans". While there are no other laws that say the prohibition of humans hurt Anicens.

They say, Anicens is shameless and can be wild at any time, immoral. Though not all of them are like that.

Click! TV changed channels. Wendy turned to Peter. The boy nibbled on the TV remote, all numbers pressed, making the TV constantly change channels.

"Peter! Don't! It will break! This TV doesn't have a guarantee!" Wendy pulled the remote, but Peter still wouldn't give it up," Peter! Sit!"

The wolf boy immediately obeyed, but the remote was still flanked by his tiny teeth. That face is annoyed.

"Now hand it over," Wendy stretched out a palm.

Spit! Finally he released it. Plus the remote is full of saliva. Ew, Wendy immediately wiped it with tissue.

"Good boy," the brown hair girl stroked Peter's hair. The face that initially looked ignorant, now relaxed and smiled. His snoring indicates that he really likes it.

Maybe people think Peter is a pet. But Wendy never think so. Peter is like her brother, a family. Anicens only needs to be well educated, not judged.

The sun begins to fall at the angle of the horizon. It's bath time for little Anicens . At Wendy's house.

Peter repeatedly hissed not wanting to take a shower. It took 15 minutes just for locking him in the bathroom. He also clawed at the door, wanting to get out.

"The water isn't cold!" Wendy exclaimed, pulling Peter's body from the door.

"Dun wanna! Cold! Cold!" whined Peter.

Wendy growled, gathering energy for a strong pull.

"LET'S TAKE A BATH!"

Peter's grip loosen, but that's not good news. Because it was too sudden, Wendy's body automatically fell down. The girl shouted when she fell with him in the bathtub. While Peter only plays with water that turns out to be warm.

Wendy sighed. She has to shower again.

***

The sound of a hair dryer buzzing softly, hair dry softly, with soft hands. Ah, everything is soft. Peter occasionally closed his eyes when the warm air of the hair dryer scanned his ears. Wendy slowly combed Peter's hair with her fingers, but the hair was neat first.

"Okay, let's go to bed!" Wendy said, turning off the hair dryer. Peter jumps down from the dressing table chair, then runs to the bed.

"Wendy! I want to hear a story!" Peter stood on the bed with his arms crossed in front of his chest. Ordering like a boss.

While tidying the hair dryer, Wendy thought for a moment. Looks like he has some collection of fairy tale books on the shelf there.

Peter throws himself on the soft bed while Wendy takes a book. For a moment the girl sifted through a good book. After she found it, Wendy sat next to Peter, who had pulled a blanket.

"Little Red Riding Hood," Wendy said reading the title, "they had wolf here."

"Wolf! Me!" Peter prided himself.

The story begins, "One day, a red hooded girl was asked by her mother to take biscuits to grandma's house in the next village. Before leaving, the red-hooded girl's mother advised to be careful when passing through the forest. The Red Hooded Girl nodded, understood."

"The little girl began her journey while humming and enjoying the shade of shade trees. But the baby steps stopped when she heard the rustling of the bush. The Red Hooded Girl now walked more slowly. Despite hearing the growl from behind the bush, the Red Hooded Girl kept trying to think that it was only an illusion. But she was wrong! When she decided to run, a big wolf immediately chased. Fortunately, because the girl was screaming for help, a hunter came to save her. The wolf scurried when the Hunter fired the shotgun."

"The Red Hooded Girl was thankful. The Hunter also advised the girl to be more careful. The girl nodded and said goodbye, continuing on her way."

"The wolf is so coward! He ran 'cause of a mere shotgun?" Peter teased.

"Listen first, the story isn't over," Wendy narrowed her eyes.

"Some time later, Red Hoodies girl arrives at her grandmother's house without any interference from the wolf again . The girl knocked on the door, calling her beloved grandmother. Immediately, there was an answer from inside, 'Oh, my granddaughter. I was waiting for you. Come in, I'm sick and lying in bed,' grandmother coughed. The Red Hooded Girl came in and approached her grandmother who wrapped in a blanket . 'Grandma, I brought you biscuits for you. I hope you get well soon,' said the girl ."

"'Thank you,' grandma coughed. The Red-Hooded Girl stared at her grandmother frankly, 'Grandma, why is your voice strange?' Grandma answered, 'because my throat hurts.'

'Then why are you hairy?'

'I wear a sweater to warm myself up.'

'Why does your mouth look big?'

Grandma went silent. She grinned broadly. Grandma took off the head cover and tore her shirt.

"To eat you completely!" apparently it was the wolf who had tried to attack the Red Hooded Girl--""

"Ugh! Stop it!" Peter suddenly exclaimed, cutting Wendy who was engrossed in reading.

"What's wrong? Are you afraid?" Wendy asked.

Peter shook his head, then looked away silently, "The story is boring! Change it! But there must be me!"

"You mean this is bad?" Wendy stared in surprise, "all right, I guess there's more."

Wendy moved to the bookshelf and exchanged the fairy tale 'Little Red Riding Hood' book to 'Three Little Pigs', then returned to bed. Peter was yawning widely.

"You're sleepy. It's better to sleep," Wendy said.

Peter immediately shook his head, "I'm not sleepy!"

Her eyes rolled 360 degrees, "After the story is over, you have to go to sleep right away."

"Yes, yes! Come on, hurry up! Story!" Peter asked impatiently.

Wendy sat next to Peter again.

"Three Little Pigs."

"Somewhere far away, there lived three small piglets. Each of them has different house building materials. The first pig has a house made of straw, the second pig has a house made of wood, and the third pig has a house made of bricks.

One day, a big bad wolf came to the village of the three little pigs. The wolf destroyed everything. He also ate their friends— "

"Stop! Stop!" Peter cut off again. Wendy stopped reading and looked at the little creature in confuse. Peter's eyes look sleepy but he still talks, "why do the wolves you tell in the two stories sound so evil?"

"But at the end of the story, none of them managed to do evil. The wolf in 'Little Red Riding Hood' ran away again because a hunter came to save the little girl. The wolf in 'Three Little Pigs' too, finally due to exhaustion unable to blow the brick house, he gave up. Everything ended happily, "Wendy said briefly.

"Still, only the wolf is unhappy," Peter said complaining.

That sentence made Wendy stunned.

"Everyone is always happy to see the wolves leave because they think the wolves is a disaster. Why in every story you read, wolves are always evil? I'm not bad. I don't want to eat Wendy, I don't want to destroy Wendy's house, I don't want to be scary."

"Wendy, do you think I'm like that?"

Wendy looked at Peter with pity. His sleepy face still looks annoying. But he is still a child.

"Do you think a wolf can have a happy ending too? Can I, as wolf get a friend? How about you? Will Wendy always... be... my friend...?" Peter fell asleep. Whether he was just delirious or not, but Peter's sentence and questions just struck Wendy's heart.

The teenage girl closes the fairy tale book, then pull the blanket up to Peter's little neck to keep it warm. When she do that, Peter curled up to face Wendy and growled softly. His sleeping face looks like an angel, not annoying like usual.

In the silence of the night, Wendy sink in her deep thought because of Peter. Even though the child was still very small, but everything he said was true.

Why do people always think that wolves are evil?

Not just wolves, but almost all Anicens are said to be similar. Perhaps only Wendy who believe there're still good and strong Anicens, as far as anything goes. It doesn't even need to be too far, Peter is also Anicens who has a better heart than any Anicens, more than any human. The sky-blue eyes were the reason Wendy wanted to take care of Peter, giving her hope.

Peter is troublesome, but that's what makes it special.

Wendy held Peter's small hand. Grasp it full of warmth. She rubs her cheek against the dark, spiky but soft gray hair.

"Of course, I will always be your friend."

RIIIIIING

Wendy's eyes opened quickly at the loud alarm ringing. The clock has been ringing for half an hour ago. The girl immediately sat looking at the clock. 06.30 . Half an hour to the school bell.

"I'm late! Peter! Wake up!" Wendy hurriedly woke Peter who was still snoring. Immediately she ran to the bathroom, took a quick shower, put on her school uniform, and thank God she had prepared her subjects and stationery from last night. Then all that's left is to prepare breakfast for Peter.

Peter had just come out and wiped his eyes slowly.

"Peter! I'm in a hurry! I have prepared bacon, sandwiches, and milk, and you must finish it! Don't go anywhere!" Wendy moves here and there, trying not to make any vain movements.

"Where's Wendy going?" he asked, still half-conscious.

"School, remember?" Wendy was carrying a bag, then immediately approached Peter and knelt in front of him with hand on his head, "I'll be home soon, this afternoon, 'kay?"

Peter nodded.

"Good boy," the girl smiled softly and kissed the forehead of her little creature. Then she stood up, "I'm off!"

The door is closed and locked.

***

Little Anicens paced from corner to corner of the house. He looks bored. Already playing games, throwing balls (and then biting them), hunting rats (but can't), perched with a mirror, all boring.

Everything here is boring without Wendy!

"Wendy! Hurry up and go home!" Peter's voice echoing in a quiet house. Then he looked out the window, many children were playing soccer. Moreover, ball is Peter's favorite object.

Because (pretending) forgot about Wendy's sentence for not going nowhere, Peter slipped out through the easy-to-open window. He jumped easily to the window frame, and slowly descended. The bare feet touch the grass drenched with morning dew. Already standing outside the house, Peter smiled with satisfaction.

"Hey! Let me in!" the naughty boy immediately shouted and ran towards the children who looked the same age.

"Yes, we happen to be short of members. You can join my team," the caramel brown-haired child who holding the ball said. Peter nodded.

The boy reached out, "I'm Maxie, you?"

Peter smiled, shook hands with Maxie and introduced himself.

"Okay, Peter. Do you like playing soccer? "

"My best thing!"

"Then let's play with us. We always play here every day," said Maxie.

The little Anicens thought for a moment, "I want to! But... I need permission from Wendy."

"Wendy?"

"She's my friend at home!" Peter shuffled, proud of himself and not Wendy.

"Is Wendy a girl?" Maxie asked.

Peter nodded.

"Long hair to the back?"

Again nodding.

"And she has a burning aura around her?"

"Burning aura?" one of Peter's eyebrows rose in surprise.

Maxie pointed at Peter. No, more precisely behind Peter. When he turned — more like he looked up — he found a girl who was glaring.

"Pe... ter...!" The girl's growl was no less scary with a lion's roar.

"Hi... Wendy..." Peter smiled stiffly.

POW! Punched right on the head.

"I told you not to go anywhere, right? I'll be home this afternoon!" Wendy dragged Peter's neck collar, "you must have climbed up the window and played with other Anicens!"

While Wendy was busy talking nagging, Peter's friends were staring in the distance.

"How did she know we are Anicens?"

For now, it's still a secret.

"I am bored! Wendy isn't here!" whined Peter when he was inside the house.

"Indeed, every day like this, only at the end of the week I can often be at home," said Wendy.

Peter's lips advanced a few inches, "Then let me play with them!"

Wendy sighed and thought for a moment, "That... actually doesn't matter, though—"

"Yeay!!" Peter jumped up and down.

"But!" Wendy immediately cut off Peter's happiness. He waited by holding back his pleasure.

"Please clean the house before you play, and don't too far from home. Your limit place is only the playing field," Wendy's index finger moved, which instead made Peter's head follow her direction. Realizing that, Wendy narrowed her eyes, "did you hear?"

Peter regained consciousness and nodded confidently, "I'm great! You don't have to worry!"

"All right, I believe in you," Wendy's hand gently brushed her spiky yet soft hair.

"Wendy, I always have a good feeling when I'm near you," Peter suddenly said quietly with a smile.

"Really? Me too," Wendy smiled.

Then Peter jumped and turned, "When I get stronger, I will protect Wendy! So if there are dangers, I will block it!"

Wendy laughed at the clawing and punching motion of Peter. Her tiny hands move nimbly like lumps of ball. If you look directly, it feels really exasperating.

"Alright, it's a bath time."
