Fighting the beast

Itachi watched as the beast charged at him, the beast's eyes were bloodshot, full of rage.

Itachi patiently waited, when the beast was an arm's distance away from him, he swiftly dodged by taking a step to the right.

BOOM!

The beast struck the massive tree that Itachi had stood behind a moment ago! The tree almost snapped in half, the beast appeared to be doing fine. Even after charging at a large tree, the tusks didn't even have a scratch on them. In fact, the beast was even angrier!

As the beast frantically withdrew his embedded tusks from the tree he frantically searched for his target.

But when he looked around he could see nothing, not even a speck of Itachi remained.

When Itachi dodged the strike he had already climbed up one of the trees, he was sitting on a tree branch with a cold demeanor. If others saw this, they would think Itachi was toying around with his prey. He didn't show an ounce of emotion, some might even think he was enjoying the moment.

Old habits die hard, right now he truly looked like the cold and aloof man that was once feared by all nations, Uchiha Itachi…

" Although this beast is strong, his intelligence is severely lacking "

Itachi thought to himself as he watched the beast below, rushing around frantically looking for him.

" I have to find a way to take this beast out, the time for the spiritual root is running out, I only have 20 minutes left. My dagger is lodged into the side of the beast, I have no other way of damaging it "

Itachi was truly in a predicament right now, even with his intelligence there wasn't much he could do. In the face of absolute power, intelligence meant nothing.

Itachi continued to scan his surroundings, looking for any clues that could take him out of this predicament. Although his Sharingan was active it was wasting his stamina, he didn't have primal Qi so the system was using his stamina as a catalyst to active his eyes.

Itachi realized this after testing the eyes, although it didn't make sense to use the Sharingan without chakra, this was the power of the system. It made the impossible, possible. Although this sounded good, this was only limited to 1 tomoe Sharingan and his byakugan was severely handy capped, he couldn't release the full potential without qi/chakra. This was only a temporary measure the system took, in order to aid Itachi for now. It was better than nothing.

He was even starting to get dizzy so he turned off the byakugan, this allowed only his Sharingan to be active thus there was less burden on his stamina consumption. Albeit his vision was drastically reduced, he could now barely see in the dark and long distances.

He kept his Sharingan on because the Sharingan gave passive abilities such as increasing his reaction speed and so on. For this situation, the Sharingan was better.

Itachi couldn't wait till he could activate primal Qi, god knows the potential his eyes will have then. Albeit that's if he gets the spiritual root, if not his dreams will be short-lived.

Itachi removed his mind from distracting thoughts and then continued to scan his surroundings.

But something caught his eye.

A minor detail only the Sharingan could catch in the darkness.

There was a very small chip on the beast's tusks.

" Wait a minute, did it chip after he crashed into the tree? Interesting… His tusks might not be as strong as I had thought "

This was great news, although to some this detail wouldn't mean much, but to Itachi, it was the light at the end of the tunnel, a major weakness of the beast.

As Itachi once said, " Every Jutsu has a weakness " Exploiting weaknesses was Itachi's specialty. Jutsus or not, every living thing had a weakness. The heavens created everything with balance. Everything had its strengths and weaknesses.

Itachi threw these thoughts to the back of his mind and then conjured a plan in his mind to take out this beast.

After a few breaths of time.

Itachi looked at the beast with his blood-red eyes then started whistling, this instantly attracted the attention of the boar. But it didn't even have the intelligence to look up at the tree, it only looked at the direction of the noise. Itachi noticed this and then swiftly jumped down in a carefree manner.

"Let's see how long those tusks can last "

Itachi jumping down from the tree branch instantly attracted the beast and it charged at Itachi once more. Itachi saw this coming and dashed towards a tree, at the last minute he dodged again and the boar-like beast hit the tree.

BOOM!

The tree shook violently but wasn't unearthed, the boar, however, looked dazed.

" Another chip on the tusks, a few more rounds is all I need "

Itachi continued his course of action, the forest resounded with loud bangs every so often, no animals dared to approach the area. At one point, some trees even broke completely in half!

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Nearly every tree within a radius of 50 meters was in tatters, utter destruction!

After about 10 rounds of charging at trees, the beast finally started to show signs of getting tired. Itachi was also growing tired from constantly dodging the beast.

" Huff, Huff.. "

Itachi breathed heavily as he looked at the boar that was now in a submissive state, the right tusk was completely broken and in tatters, and a large chunk was on the ground.

" What a powerful creature, to think I wasted so much stamina, luckily the beast's intelligence was extremely low and thus kept on charging at trees, not caring about how much damage it inflicted on itself.

"Cough! Cough!"

All of a sudden Itachi went into a coughing fit, he held his left hand to his mouth, he couldn't stop himself from coughing, when he looked at his hand he saw blood. On top of that, the light in his eyes was starting to fade and his Sharingan was barely active, threatening to turn off at any moment!

" Even though the system is miraculous, without Qi, using stamina as a catalyst to use these eyes is not a good idea, at this rate ill die before I kill this beast, " Itachi said to himself inwardly.

Itachi then wiped the blood off his mouth with his sleeve and then walked towards the boar-like beast that was stunned on the floor, the beast was in a bad state from hitting his head numerous times on the trees.

Itachi's Sharingan was about to deactivate, defeating the beast now was of utmost importance.

Now that the beast wasn't moving, it was the perfect time to deal a fatal blow.

Itachi picked up one of the larger broken shards of the tusk on the floor and then wielded it with his left hand, his right arm was completely broken and out of service.

He slowly walked toward the beast like an executioner, then Itachi tightly gripped the broken tusk and slammed it down into the beast.

" Groannn "

The beast let out a weak shriek, it didn't even have the energy to retaliate.

The shrapnel piece of the tusk pierced into the skin, but once again it got stuck halfway through and couldn't go deep into the beast's vital organs.

The divine dagger Itachi used before this went in much deeper, this just showed how impressive and sharp the dagger was.

Itachi pulled out the tusk piece with all his strength and then stabbed it once again at the beast.

STAB! STAB! STAB! STAB!

Itachi was like a madman at this moment, he kept stabbing the tusk piece into the beast, and the blood of the beast had squirted all over Itachi's face and robes. If other people saw this, they would mistake the kid before them for the Grim Reaper.

" If I cant pierce its vital organs, the only option is to make it bleed out "

As Itachi stabbed the beast countless times, it groaned a few times at the start but eventually, it made no sound. In a few more minutes it would die.

"Phew!"

Itachi let out a sigh and dropped to the ground back first, he waited for the beast to take its last breath as he lay there on the ground looking up at the night sky, not a single cloud could be seen, only the bright moon that shone down onto the forest.

Itachi was breathing heavily as sweat poured down from his forehead and onto the ground.

Itachi's Sharingan was also completely deactivated, his stamina was virtually 0.

After 30 breaths of time, he finally got the notification he was waiting for, and the same robotic voice resounded in his head.

Itachi listened to the notification, he was surprised he got 300 points, for the nether wolf he only got 200 points. Maybe the turtle boar was a bit stronger hence the increase in points awarded.

Itachi ignored these thoughts and then quickly summoned the system interface, he went to the shop section and looked at the heavenly supreme grade spiritual root.

Itachi didn't hesitate any longer and shouted "buy!" All his efforts were for this moment!

But now, I have a purpose… I have to explore this world, I have to cherish this new lease of life I have been gifted, I can't let it go to waste! I will not make the same mistakes of the past!"

Itachi held his left hand up and almost as if grasping at the sky he clenched his fist, his eyes were determined, and his resolve was unshakable. This was only the beginning for Itachi, the road ahead was long, but he didn't mind, even if he died treading this path, he would have no regrets!

With that being said, Itachi slowly closed his eyes, and then a rare smile bloomed on his face…
