In Itachi's memories, he was told that his mother was a slave mermaid of his father. It wasn't shocking, as besides from the first wife, Celestial Dragons had taken up slaves as their concubines.

What made the matter shocking was that Itachi's mother was a mermaid. The whole thing felt like a whole made up lie to him. The two were different species, but he came to understand how it was done, as the previous owner also did the same.

'This guy really deserved to die.'

He shook his head to clear his thoughts, he couldn't do anything about it, even if he wanted.

Futher more, he then continued to read the note his mother of this world had left him.

Itachi flipped the paper a few times to check if that was all. Shouldn't a mother right more heart-warming words to her child.

At the end he didn't find anything, and just ended up putting the note aside, maybe there were only things he could see with his sharingan.

A little dissatisfied, he slowly opened up the rusty black chest. The lid was heavy, that he even felt his joints cracked a bit.

"Ah, just who carried this thing here?" He muttered, with less anticipation in his eyes.

He didn't expect anything of value to be in the chest, but when he laid eyes on what was inside, his eyes almost popped out.

"...just what is this doing here?"

Inside the chest lay a weird shaped white fruit, no it wasn't an ordinary fruit.

"A... Devil fruit."

He knew that a Devil fruit would take up someone's ability to swim, in exchange for a supernatural ability, like being a man of ice or lava. 

Although there are some useless devil fruits out there, it would still make someone be a level above a normal human.

'But just what is this Devil fruit...?'

Shinobi walked on water, rather than swim, so he didn't really care much about it. What he wanted to know was that, which Devil fruit was this?

He knew that logia would turn a person into an element, and this one was not like that. It didn't have any element it would relate to.

'Clouds maybe? But clouds aren't shaped like a cube.'

Zoan would turn someone into an animal, but most zoan devil fruits are shaped like the fruits that animal eats, and no fruit is shaped like a cube.

'So it's a paramecia...'

Realizing that fact the young Uchiha felt hesitant about taking it.

Paramecia would turn a person into something weird. Considering the shape he might turn into a box man, or something worse.

Cough–! Cough–!

Itachi coughed up blood, he was used to pain, and he ignored it all this time, but as a future lazy person there is no need for him to feel pain. Pain is for the hardworking, and those in grief.

"It actually, (chew) taste, (chew) great."

At the end, he took the Devil Fruit. Shinobi walked on water, not swim. His life was on the line here, and the only option was to eat this apple tasting fruit. He was also hungry too.

With each bite he felt his condition getting better. It took a few minutes to finish the whole fruit, and his condition was far way better than that he had in his first life.

'Am I able to heal myse– !'

Itachi's thoughts completely paused. Something he had never seen before was floating in front of his eyes. It was a white panel with his details written on it.

Itachi's amazement was only for a short while. He had eaten a paramecia devil fruit, so anything was bound to happen to him. He considered himself lucky, as his body didn't turn into anything weird.

"So this is a devil fruit... Why do I understand this weird writing?" He muttered, as he walked over to the edge of the bed.

'I can touch it, so it's not a genjustu.'

The young Uchiha sat on the edge of his luxury bed. His hands tapped on chakra, and a new panel appeared before him.

He didn't know where the Merit Points came from, and quickly decided not to waste them.

With the 500 Merit Points he used, he could feel his chakra increase, which is something shinobi got after days of training.

'Danzo would kill for this.'

Not pressing much on the issue he moved over to the shop. If his guess was right then he would find something to increase his life force.
