Chapter 132

IT WAS A FEW HOURS AFTER LUNCH WHEN THE DOCTOR ARRIVED. He brought his nurses with him and a whole bunch of equipment to run various tests on me.

"Please tell me this is the last time....." I asked as I wrang my sleeve to my elbow so they get a blood sample.

"Hopefully yes madam....it'll all depend on what the doctor says....." The nurse who was about to get my blood sample replied as she tightened the tourniquet. She carefully sterilised the area beneath it and punctured my vein. I could see the crimson fluid flow through the catheter and into the collecting bottle. Once the bottle filled up, she loosened the tourniquet and asked me to loosen my fist. She applied pressure on the site with a small cotton bud.

"You can throw it away once you stop bleeding ..." I nodded and she disposed the needle and catheter that she used.

"Um....thank you miss Delarue....I will email you the results immediately as they're done processing in the lab. That should last about three to six hours...." The doctor explained and I nodded, while pulling my sleeve down.

"Okay..thank you...." I smiled and got off the chair. "When are you removing this bandage on my head??"

"Oh...we can do it now if you want....." He asked and I rolled my eyes. "Yes please....am going shopping I certainly don't need this..."

I sat back down and the doctor asked one of the nurses to come and unbandage my head. I was nervous because I thought it was going to hurt so I shut my eyes and clenched my fists. She carefully rolled it out and when she arrived to the site of the wound, she steadied herself and slowly peeled it off. I admit that really hurt but not as much as I'd hoped it would.

After she was done, the doctor put on some gloves and examined my wound.

Drake was really a brutal man. How could he even think of smashing my head like this?

I certainly can't wait for his trial. Only then I'd know what judgement that man deserves and maybe then I'd be a peaceful soul resting.

"The wound was very deep and it's not dry as we speak. It still needs dressing for up to a few days and then we can decide again on whether do remove it or not...."

"Oh no ....so I'll have to walk with that bandage around my forehead???" I asked worriedly.

"Am afraid so....but we can put plasters if you want. They're much better than a bandage....." He tried to talk me into it but unfortunately it wasn't working.

"Thank you but no.....I guess I'd have to skip shopping then....." I worriedly sighed.

"Ma'am....you can go ahead with the plaster. It's much better than the bandage...and you can throw a hat on top of it....you won't only hide your wound but also look good in it...and when you come back, we can remove the plaster and put back the bangage..." One of the nurses suggested and I think I liked her idea. I smiled and nodded allowing the doctor to move, giving room to the nurse to dress my wound. She cleaned it with normal saline and then placed an iodine gauze which she fastened with some plasters. It really wasn't a bad idea although I was insecure about having a sausage on my head.

I went to my room and fetched a wide brimmed black hat which I knew would go well with my outfit. I was wearing a black top which had a front criss cross design instead of buttons all the way up and a high waist black pair of jeans.

Once I wore the hat, I felt safe and secure in it.

"This might actually work...." I smiled and wore my thigh high, suede leather stiletto boots.

"Don't you look beautiful...." The nurse added and I loved just that complement.

"Thank you...." I replied carrying my clutch and putting in my credit cards.

"I think we should also take our leave...." The doctor said and the nurses nodded. Lauren and Adam weren't around and nor was Aaron but I needed someone to escort me to the mall. I couldn't go alone.

"Um...may I...uh...borrow...one of your nurses???" I asked and pursed my lips like a kid. "you see....my boyfriend isn't here.nor is my personal assistant....I'd love to have them to this but they're not home. My bodyguard isn't either and I can't call him because I have no phone so....I need company....I cant go out alone...."

"I'll go....!!!" Two of them screamed simultaneously and the smile on my face widened.

*****

I drove Adam's Bugatti since my car was damaged following my abduction so as to eliminate all the evidence. How cheap. I really can't wait for the trial so I'd put that man in his shoes.

I stepped on the gas pedal and got us to Pacific mall, the new most in town as far as I've heard.

I packed the car in the regular carpark unlike the reserved one in the basement. I'd had enough of these...no more.

"Come on girls ...." I said putting on my shades and walking out of the car. They followed behind me like my two bodyguards and I couldn't shake off the fact that we looked cool.

We walked in and went straight to the elevator with everyone whispering "oh my God that's Eleanor" all the way. I paid no attention to them. I wasn't gonna stop because Aaron wasn't with me so.

Once we got in, I pressed the button that said 23 and breathed the moment the elevator started to move. I took my shades off and crouched them against my clutch.

"So...you girls have done this before???" I asked softening the mood between us. To this point, they weren't my nurses, they were my friends.

"Uh..." The one with the red hair started and shyly looked at her friend before replying. Her friend smiled and shook her head.

"Okay...this is gonna be fun..." I smiled and stood straight the moment the elevator ticked and stopped. The doors opened and we walked out, straight away getting into the saloon.

Gosh...it was beautiful!

I walked in and I definitely knew this was the place I had to spend my afternoon at. It was circular in shape with a huge wall on one side were a whole vast collection of different branded hair driers were. Opposite to it was a section that was all rainbows and butterflies after all the careful placement of all sorts of different hair accessories.

Black and White was indeed the perfect colour combination. Just Right. The sharp contrast between black and white paired with the polished look of stainless textured walls added interest to it.

A large panel of glass was installed across a number of work stations, rather than smaller, individual mirrors per station which gave out the glamour in this place.

Huge bulbs hang from the ceiling optimising natural lighting throughout the hair salon.

The floor was not one to be left out in the elegance. it added just as much splendor to the entire place. The almost all-white salon made the rectangle tiles, portable cart, and pillow of the chair pop and drew eyes to the small details such as the blinds and the baseboard heater. Minor highlights like the green of the plants and the pink and burgundy of the salon also added to the epiphany of beauty.

This place was lit.

I walked further in and turned to my left where the nail parlour was and all different kinds of people were getting their nails done. Pictures of different celebrities were printed on the walls after a makeover and boy, they looked just as much fantastic.

"Excuse me???" a tiny voice from behind me called and I turned to find a bubbly Irish girl.

"Oh hey...." I shook her hand and she shook mine back.

"It's a pleasure to shake your hand Goddess on earth...." she began leading me to the lounge. The two nurses I came with followed behind us.

"Oh please ...the pleasure is mine. Your place is wonderful....." I smiled back.

"How may I help you???"

"Umm.....I want to get my nails done....mostly ....." I nodded vigorously looking at my nails.

"Oh.....not a problem....I'll get you a stylist right away...uh...and the girls too???" she asked and I turned to them.

"do you guys wanna get your nails done too?? it's on me don't worry....."

"That's kind of you Eleanor but....we work in the hospital so that's a no-go....." they replied and I shook my head in displeasure. "Alright....then I guess you can look around and anything you want, help your self....bills on me...."

"Really??" the red head asked and I nodded. They immediately got up and left.

"Uh....My name is Danielle by the way...although most people call me Elle....am the secretary here ....." she smiled and I nodded in approval.

"Nice meeting you...."

"Okay...I'll get the stylist now...." she left.

While I waited, I took interest in a bunch of magazines and flipped the pages one by one. I was amazed to see that most of the pictures where mine. Was I really that famous? I remembered each and every function from where the pictures were taken from. Although some were anonymous, I loved that I still looked good.

I flipped the page and landed on a very beautiful woman with silver eyes. She held onto what looked to be a see-through plastic bottle of juice and appeared to be taking a sip while gazing directly at the camera lens. In the next slide, I sported a similar stance but gazed up to her right with her eyes closed. The model flashed a mini smile and showed off her hydrogenated white teeth.

I smiled and dropped that magazine looking at another one with the same woman, this time with her name written beneath the picture. Shanice Dhabi, Angel in human form...

She styled her long, dark hair in braids and wore a small nose stud. She sure treated her followers with this beauty of hers each time she uploaded on social media platforms. I should look her up sometime. I flipped through the pages and found another picture of hers in which was captured laying down in the sea with her eyes closed.

She definitely knew how to make serious face poses and I knew I had to get some lessons from her.

Suddenly, the chattering of two women got my attention and caused me to turn around and look.

The moment I turned, my jaw dropped and I couldn't believe what I was seeing.

It was her!

Shania Dhabi!
