160: Las Vegas

Two weeks following Adam's visit, I completed my shoot in Buenos Aires, and we had to shoot the remaining in Las Vegas.

I was happy that Adam and I had cleared up our 'differences'. He cleared the doubts I had about him and I surely hope I managed to clean all the doubts he had about me too.

Experiencing love was one of the biggest and challenging things that'd ever happened to me.

I couldn't help but wonder exactly how someone remains in it throughout the entire hardships.

Thankfully, I had Adam to take me through it all. I loved that he was always my support system and I could actually be who I was with him.

Not the best actress, not the goddess on earth but just Eleanor. As he knew me.

And that was enough for me.

I drove off the airport with Lauren and the rest of the crew checking us up in the various hotels we were living in. Shooting wouldn't start u til the next two days which was something amazing as we had an entire city to explore.

"I've never lived in Las Vegas before..." I popped my head outside the window allowing my hair to be blown by the wind.

"You'll love it here ma'am...." Aaron replied. I smiled at him and sat back down, asking Lauren to take pictures of me to boost my social media. Well of course!

As usual, she threw a few tantrums and still took the pictures for me.

I quickly went through them and posted the best possible picture on my Instagram page.

"Here...." Lauren offered me some orange juice.

"Thank you...." I received it and went through my post, choking the next second after seeing who liked it first.

"Renée just liked my picture!!!" I gasped and looked at Lauren.

"Your nemesis???" Lauren asked, her eyes widened knowing the severity of the situation.

"Yes....her....." I gasped, coughing out the air I swallowed while screaming. This was really going to be a trip to remember in Las Vegas.

"Maybe she wants to let bygones be bygones...." Lauren smiled. I narrowed my eyes questioning if she really meant what she was talking about. Renée would never wish to patch things up with me.

She's always had it on me since I started my acting career. For some reason, she always had it on me!

She just hated everything associated with me and couldn't even let me breathe for being good at what I did.

Worst still, I never knew what I did to offend her.

I wasn't happy with the battle between us but if she was going to throw hands at me, I was gonna return the favour.

And I did, spicing up our feud, revealing it to the entire world.

For what was worth, Renee was also a very good actress. She was reliable and known to memorise her lines very well. I couldn't believe someone as rich and good as she was was spending her time, fighting with me.

Not that I cared, it was a losing battle for her. I wish she knew.

"We're here...." Aaron said, stepping on the break and bringing the car to a stop. Lauren handed me a pair of shades but I turned her down. I was going to let the world see me.

I carried my bag and breathed in and out, before walking out after Aaron opened the door for me.

I could hardly believe it when I saw the many people waiting for me at the hotel.

"Paparazzi magnet for sure...." Lauren smiled at me fixing my jacket.

"You can say that again...." I smiled back and waved at the people, earning a loud undescribable scream. A whole mixture of chants, praises, shouts and applauses.

I walked by and decided to sign a few autographs and take selfies with those I could manage to. I really love it when people do this to me. Not for the pride, but it makes me love myself more.

"We need to go ma'am...." Aaron walked to me and shielded me with his hand, bringing me into the hotel. I waved one last time before wearing my shades and walking in.

Lauren was already at the reception finalising the check-in and when she saw me, she rushed to me with my room keys.

"Your room is on the tenth floor ma'am. I'll take you...." one of the hotel's assistant motioned for me to go into the elavtor with him and I followed, Aaron and Lauren walking behind me.

"The heat here is on another level...." I mumbled, trying to remove my jumper which Lauren helped with.

"I certainly agree with you on that one, ma'am..." the attendant smiled, squinting her eyes. "It's almost summer so be sure to buy that sun screen if you don't want your skin tanned...."

"Thanks for the tip...." I shrugged my eyebrows the very moment the elevator stopped. We walked out, with the attendant leading the way only to stop right next to a room which had loads of luggage outside.

"Looks like someone's moving in permanently, next to you..." Lauren gasped and I elbowed her sides.

"So this is your room ma'am..." the attendant opened the door about to go in when I stopped her.

"No sweat hunny, we'll take it from here. If there's anything I need, I'll call room service..."

"Ooh....I..." she started, looking at me and Lauren simultaneously before smiling and walking away.

Lauren shrugged her shoulders and walked in with the bags followed by Aaron.

I was about to walk in when I heard a very familiar voice seemingly coming from the next room.

"Why is my room far away from yours.??" of course. Shanice Dhabi!

"Because we're at work....it won't be professional if we have rooms next to each other...." her lover, Breenan, the director responded.

Their tones were significantly low but the chatter in their whispers was making it loud enough for eavesdropping.

After I heard their voices get closer, I pretended to be looking at something on my phone with my earphones in.

"So...are you coming tonight???" she asked.

"Ofcour----" his voice trailed off and I fought with my curiosity to look at what was going on. Then suddenly...

"Miss DelaRue....!" he exclaimed walking towards me, offering me his hand which I dodged on purpose and rather went in with a hug. Shanice, standing behind him locked eyes with me making me hug him even more, to see the horrid look on her face. Very satisfying.

"Welcome to Las Vegas, Miss DelaRue...." he exclaimed, following my lead in breaking the hug.

"Please Breenan. How many times should I tell you...." I said playfully. "It's Eleanor, for you...."

"You have got to be kidding me!!" Shanice groaned and clenched her fingers into fists. I know she didn't mean for us to hear that part but thankfully for her, I did.

"Thanks for such generosity. I'll be sure to remember that...." Breenan smiled. "I hope you'll like it here and maybe I can make your stay enjoyable...."

My eyes lit up the moment he said that and I wondered exactly what he meant.

To avoid awkwardness, I smiled at him and witnessed him exchange looks with Shanice before walking away.

"Howdy neighbor...!!" I wiggled my eyebrows in her direction only for her to blow a raspberry at me before shutting the door in my face.

I was about to smack the door and break it down when I realised I was better than that. I was here on business and that's what I had to do.

I walked back to my room and found Lauren almost done unpacking my things. Both my wardrobe and dressing table were well and neatly arranged as well as my bathroom toiletries.

Aaron, also seemed to be busy looking and searching in the room, almost inspecting it for whatever it was that he was looking for.

I walked to the balcony and got welcomed by the heatwave and gently blew from the nearby beach.

"Typical of Las Vegas..."

"We're done ma'am....." Lauren called and I narrowed my eyes at her questioningly for calling me ma'am.

"And the room is also clean, no suspicious surveillance cameras detected....." Aaron, like a soldier, reported his findings to me although I didn't really care.

"Thanks guys. I think I need to rest now...." I sighed taking off my jacket.

"We'll leave you to it...call when you need anything...." Lauren kissed my goodbye as she followed Aaron outside the room.

I threw myself down on the bed, looking at the ceiling and thinking about Adam when suddenly my phone rang.

A smile broadened on my face the moment I saw the caller ID.
