Chapter 20

Rea POV

We decided to spend some quality time together at home for a peaceful time after that stressful day yesterday with Vera passing out and all.

We girls were just about to start baking cookies. I got up and Bree followed me to help me get the ingredients. Suddenly, we heard an ear-piercing squeal followed by a thunder of laughter from the boys.

I and Bree ran to the living room to see all the boys, and I mean ALL of them laughing on the couch with Vera being pushed around. Drey and Allison were standing safely away laughing along with the boys. 

Suddenly, everyone shut up as Vera smashed her lips onto Ace's and then she shifted around a bit and was just about to get off the couch when Ace yanked her closer to him and then we heard a series of resounding 'ew's from the rest of them as Drey and Allison cheered with Bree also shrieking from beside me and Rayan pushing Ace and yelling, 

"GET A ROOM, LOVESICK ASSHOLES"

"LANGUAGE, RAYAN!" I scolded. He looked back at me and stared deep into my soul.

I could feel butterflies in my stomach and his gaze boring into my eyes made me feel lightheaded.

He got up from the couch and moved closer to me. He was so close to me, and I didn't think he could come any closer.

He stepped forward and my mind exploded. How is that possible-?I could feel his breath and his scent, which was so familiar to me.

"See if I give a fuck." He said in a hushed tone that was just too hot for me to bear.

I opened my mouth to say something, but I couldn't find any words and my breath hitched...

The next thing I knew, his lips met mine and the second my mind registered that

RAYAN WAS KISSING ME, I threw my arms around him and kissed him back.

His hands snaked around my waist and pulled me close. One of my hands reached his hair and clutched it so tightly.

It was hot and needy and fireworks were exploding around me.

I had never felt this before and I never wanted to stop it.

But approximately a minute later, we pulled away for the sake of our lives.

We stared into each other's eyes and his gaze had never made me feel all wobbly at the knees before like it did now.

"I knew you both were made for each other." I heard Vera.

"What happened to get a room for ourselves, eh, Rayan?" Ace cocked an eyebrow at us.

I buried my face into his shirt. And my cheeks were burning.

"You'll be my girlfriend, won't you?"

"Mhm, what do you think?"

"You'll say... yes."

"You couldn't be more right," I said as I placed a soft kiss on his lips.

And we got a pillow smacked at us.

"GET A DAMN ROOM!" All the singles yelled, with an "Ewwww" followed by Jordan.

"OH- MY- GOSH! GET IT OFF!!!"

Vera yelled and chased me around.

She picked up the powdered sugar in a handful and threw it at me.

The next thing I knew, an egg was flying across the room and narrowly missed Rayan and hit the cabinet. And slid down.

"THAT IS SO EW! WHO TF THREW THAT EGG!?" Bree yelled.

"IT WASN'T ME, IT WAS ACE!" Alden yelled.

"THE FUCK, ACE!?"

"WHAT THE HECK!?" Vera and Bree shrieked.

And here comes the flour, hitting me hard on the face.

"WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU RAYAN!?" I yelled and grabbed whatever was right next to me on the counter and hurled it at him.

It was a hand mixer. Yea-.

"OW! FUCKIN HELL, REA!?" Alden yelled when it accidentally smacked him on the shoulder.

"SHUT THE HELL UP ALDEN!" Drey yelled and hurled another egg at someone. And it landed right on Nino's head.

"BREE I FUCKIN' SWEAR- YOUR SISTER-!" Jordan grabbed the flour and a whole lot of it too. He threw it into the air and it fell on everyone.

"THE BATTER WILL GET RUINED, YOU IDIOTS!! AND STOP SWEARING FOR FUCK'S SAKE-!" I yelled and then slapped my hand over my mouth. Cuz well, I swore.

Rayan and Ace started laughing and then atleast 5 eggs went flying across the room one landed on my shirt, right in my stomach, one on Allison, another on Bree, and the other two on Ace and Rayan.

"ALDEN!"

"NINO!" Their girlfriends yelled.

And then, there went the melted butter that was supposed to be added to the melted chocolate.It went and fell on quite a few shirts with a splat.

When quite a lot of it ended up in my hair, I grabbed the egg-white bowl from beside me and hurled it at no one in particular.

And then it came.

"FOOD FIGHT!!!"

And a gazillion items went flying.

Vera POV

I felt an arm around my waist and suddenly I was pulled back into the side of someone's torso and I yelped.

He kissed me on the side of my head and then my forehead and my insides melted.

Then he turned me around and his lips met mine. I still had the sponge in my hand, and I held it a bit far from his back as I threw my arms around him.

"Ow- What the" A cleaning cloth hit us on the face(s).

"We're supposed to be cleaning! Stop smooching!"

"Right..." I mumbled and pushed Ace away as he laughed lightly.

I went back to scrubbing the cabinet, struggling to get the marks of dried egg white off the cabinet draws.

"Who the fuck even started this stupid fight?" Bree asked annoyedly.

"It doesn't matter because we were all throwing things around," Allison responded.

"If Jordan hadn't screamed 'food fight' this place wouldn't have been half as messy as it is now!" Rea Grumbled as she mopped the floor, clearly annoyed by the terrible mess."Hey! It was Vera who threw the powdered sugar at you!"

"On my defense, I threw it at REA 'cause she took a whole lot of batter and applied it on me like some facial!!!"

"Well, who threw the egg across the room!?" Nino asked as he scrubbed the counter.

"It was ACE!!" Alden and Bree responded.

"So technically, Ace started the fight!" I spoke. I stopped scrubbing because the mark wasn't coming off, and my hand hurt so bad.

"Hey!! I threw it at Rea cuz... well- I don't know- I just wanted to do something about your screams and just hurled that egg at you!"

"Stop bickering and clean like you were asked to!!" Avianna said, with her hands on her hips.

"And by the way, FYI, Vera, Aurora is coming home from that business trip in an hour. Her flight lands at 6:20, and she'll be here by 7 pm."

"Mom! It's 7:10!!" Ace said, and my head spun, and my body froze.

"Who's Aurora?" Bree asked.

"My mom..." Andrea said.

"And.....?" Allison drawled.

"My mom and Vera used to have the best of relationships... but well, after everything happened, and my mom was the only one who knew about it, -"

She glanced apologetically at Avianna and Laura who gave her a soft smile.

"Vera had a heartfelt conversation with my mom just the day before they were leaving and well, Vera lashed out at her and let out a string of obscenities,"

I remembered the incident all too well. She'd be here any moment now.

And- well-. The door flung open and there she came.

She looked around and frowned at all the new faces. When her eyes met mine, though-.

"V-Vera?"

"Hi... Aunt Aurora."

She looked over at Rea, confused."Yea, mom... so... Hey."
