3 Date night part two

Petal POV.

After styling my hair and putting on light makeup, I walked towards the wardrobe to pick an outfit to wear for dinner. I looked through my clothes for about five minutes before I picked something simple to wear. I quickly put my clothes in and went towards the dressing table to wear the set of jewelry that I chose earlier.

Ethan had gone downstairs after he received a call. It must be something related to his work, I figured.

I was about to wear my necklace when Ethan entered the room, I turned around to look at him and noticed that he was holding a jewelry box in his hand. I just knew it, I had a feeling that he would do something like this. Though I don't need any more jewelry because I have more than enough but he never seems to believe it.

"I saw this one online, and I thought how it would look beautiful on you." Ethan said as he opened the jewelry box, showing me what was inside it.

To be honest, it was breathtaking, both simple and elegant, and I couldn't help but smile. I tiptoe on my fingertips and kissed him on the cheek as a thank you."It's beautiful." I replied.

"It would be even more after you put it on." Ethan said and put the box on the dressing table and helped me remove the jewelry set that I was already wearing.

I looked at my reflection in the mirror and smiled. The necklace brought out the dress that I was wearing differently. I felt Ethan's hands wrap around my waist as he kissed my neck, I felt my body shiver in response. Our eyes met in the mirror reflection and found myself staring at him with dreamy eyes, it was quite embarrassing but Ethan was the kind of man that you can't take your eyes off, even after all this time my heart still racing just by looking at him and I find myself asking, does he too feel the same.

As if Ethan had heard my thoughts, he said.

"Sometimes I can't believe that you're mine." He whispered every single word in my ear as his eyes were locked with mine.

His words gave me the confirmation that I was looking for the moment but by tomorrow morning the doubt will fill my mind again I was waiting to hear this confirmation again and again and my doubts are going into an unending circle.

I pushed my thoughts away and turned around in his arms, and reached to fix his tie. I smiled when I heard him sigh, Ethan doesn't like to wear neckties, but he started to wear them because I told him it looks good on him.

"Is it too tight?" I asked.

"No, it's good." Ethan replied.

Once we finished getting ready, we left the house heading towards the restaurant. Of course, we were escorted by armed bodyguards inside the car, Ethan too was armed. This doesn't bother me anymore as I understood that I was still in danger after what happened and neither Ethan nor I wanted for what happened to be repeated.

Passing by this road reminded me of the first time that I and Ethan visited this restaurant and all I could think about is how fast the time passes by, this time we were different, and our relationship is stronger and closer.

Once they arrived, the bodyguards got off the car first to secure the area before we entered the restaurant.

"Good evening, Mr. Ethan. Ma'am." The restaurant owner greeted us personally

I nodded my head in reply as I looked around the place. I was glad that the place hadn't changed.

"Good evening. I see that nothing has changed." Ethan said to the restaurant manager.

"Yes. Our customers come here especially for the view, we can offer to upset them." The restaurant manager said.

As the manager showed us our table, I saw a couple sitting at the back of the restaurant. They seemed to be fighting, but mostly, it was the woman who seemed to be scolding the man. It seems that I have seen this man before in Wilson's mansion.

"Is something wrong?" I heard Ethan ask as he pulled the chair for me.

I looked at him and pointed in the direction of the couple, and he immediately looked at where I was pointing.

"That's Alexander De-Martin, and that's his fiancée." Ethan said."Their complex relationship is the center of discussion for all the mafia leaders." He added.

The man named Alexander seemed to notice someone staring at them. He looked in their direction, he waved at us, and Ethan did too. But I noticed that the woman didn't turn to look at us. I signaled Ethan to take our set. It wasn't polite to just stand there and stare at them, considering how the situation seemed stressed.

We sat down and ordered our dinner. During the meal, I couldn't help but glance in their direction from time to time. They seemed to be still arguing about something.

"Is he your friend?" I asked, signaling.

Ethan looked at me, a bit confused about why I suddenly showed interest in this man, but he didn't say anything about it.

"Well, it depends. Alexander is a very dangerous man, and we both don't trust anyone easily, but if our business is related, then we work together very well." Ethan replied.

I smiled and nodded my head in understanding. Their relationship is just a business partnership.

I saw the girl stand up and leave the restaurant, and she seemed angry. The man named Alexander didn't follow her, and what surprised me was that he ordered a bottle of alcohol instead of following her.

"I told you their relationship is complex and shameless at times." Ethan said as he looked back at me.

"No, let's focus on us. We came here for a date night. Come." Ethan said as he reached to hold my hand and brought it to his lips kissing the back of it.

He was right. I shouldn't concern myself with other people's problems while we're together. We should enjoy our time together.
