Chapter 4

Alia woke up early in the morning. She looked at the window to see the sunlight shined through it. The birds were chipping, the morning wind blew her face. It's peaceful. She thought to herself. Like nothing happened yesterday.

She looked around and remembered that she's currently in the prince's mansion.

"I'm gonna give you a special room for you. Please feel free to use it."

The words spoke by Lewis yesterday reminded her that she's currently his private maid. She took the maid uniform that was hanged at the doors coat hanger and changed into it.

"What I'm supposed to do as a private maid?" She tried to remember her yesterday's conversation.

"Hmm... Let's see... First of all, don't let my father or Sebastian see you. They're gonna be mad if I let a farmer become the mansion maid. As for your duty... Clean up my bed and room, watering my plants, and serve me food. Is that okay?"

"I suppose so."

When she remembered what she had to do, she get out of her room and gone straight to Lewis's room. She knocked the door, but there's no answer. She tried to knock the door again, but still no answer. She opened the door without permission and saw the room was empty.

Maybe he gone out again? She thought. She walked in the room to do her duty, but her step was intercepted by a voice called for her.

"Hey, you! What are you doing going into the prince's room without permission?"

When she turned around, she saw an old man, dressed in a butler uniform, with a scary face that called her.

This must be Sebastian that Lewis talked about. I remembered that he said Sebastian is a scary old butler. It must be him that I have to avoid. Alia's getting flustered.

"I ask you what are your business in the prince's room?" Sebastian questioned her.

"I'm looking for the prince for my duty, sir!" Alia replied.

"Hmm... When I look clearly, I've never seen your face before. Are you a new maid here?" Sebastian feeling suspicious towards her.

Oh my god. I can't tell him that Lewis picked me up, can't I? What I should tell him?

Alia panicked of finding answer for that question.

"I..." Alia tried her best to answer his question. "I'm actually a professional maid sent by other kingdom's princess."

What the heck I'm saying right now?!

Out of panic, she gave her answer to Sebastian.

"What?" He's shocked. He stared at her with his round eyes, signing that he's currently in disbelief.

Oh no. Does he know that I'm lying?

"May I Asked who's that princess you're talking about?" Sebastian asked Alia.

"Princess... Princess Charlotte." She answered his question even though the princess Charlotte doesn't exist.

"Princess Charlotte?!" He raised his voice. "That princess Charlotte of the great Elvira kingdom?"

She's exist?! Alia started to feel panic again.

"Yes... Of course. Their princess sent me to serve the prince as a maid."

"Hmm... I see. Maybe the reason that she does that was because she's fallen in love with the prince. No wonder, our prince is the most handsome man living after all." Sebastian finally got tricked by Alia. Alia felt relieved by the reaction showed by the butler.

"Well, that's true." She said. "But can you keep me a secret from the king? That's also the request from the princess, to keep me from the king."

"Well of course. The king must wanted you to serve him instead of the prince. Very well, I didn't see anyone came into the prince's room."

"Thank you." She expressed her gratitude to him. "By the way, where's the prince currently at?"

"The prince is at the study room for his education. You must wait until he's finished with his classes."

"Is that so?" Said Alia. "Well, thank you and see you later."

She walked away from Sebastian. He just looks at her from behind.

She's lying. But I'm gonna let her off this time. I want to know, who's she, and what's she doing here.

He thought.

I still don't plan to report it to the king. because currently he has weak heart. His heart sure gonna gave up when he know that there's intruder in this mansion. I'm gonna observe her more.

Sebastian decided.
