Chapter 8

I called Anna immediately after seeing their missed calls. She didn't answered it. I called Noah and for the sake he picked up.

"Maya where were you? Me and Anna are trying to reach you since forever."

"I'm so sorry Noah. Now tell me what's the matter."

"It's about Steve. His parents are worried about him he's been out since yesterday night and he's not home till now. Do have any idea where he could be?"

"I'm sorry but I don't know. I meet him last at the audi and after that we didn't meet. And after school I was waiting for him but then his car was not there so I came home then."

"Thanks for the info Maya."

"Where are you people now?"

"We both are at my place. I think you should also come over here so we could do something."

"Yeah. I'll be there in twenty minutes."

"See you the."

I quickly dressed up in my sweatpants and a casual jacket as it was breezy outside. I grabbed my phone and wallet and rushed down. I locked my house and and drove to Noah's.

I reached at his place and both him and Anna were sitting outside in the garden.

Anna ran towards me and hugged me. Noah came and he also gave a casual hug.

"I'm so afraid Maya. What if something had happened to him."

My body chilled out by hearing this but tried to keep that clam.

"I know my friend Anna, he'll be save. And Maya you too relax."

"Yeah Maya. I think he'll be good. Let's go inside and Noah you can make a coffee for both of us."

"Sure. But what do you mean by just 'both of us' I'll also have the coffee."

Anna giggled and both of them stepped inside the house.

"Maya come in. I'll chilling outside."

"Anna I have to make a call. I'll just come."

She sighed and went inside.

I called Amelia but she didn't answered my calls. So I texted her.

As soon as I messaged her she replied me within seconds.

Yeah Maya Steve is with me and he's safe. We came to a picnic spot to have fun. And I've told him to call his parents and he's already on the call. As soon we'll be back he will call you or will directly see you tomorrow.

OK thanks Amelia. Seems like you too share the vibe.

Yeah maybe we do. But relax we're just friends.

I know. And I trust both of you. Love u. Bye.

After that there was no text from her neither from Steve. I was very upset from him because at least he could have told me but he didn't.

I went inside and told Anna and Noah that he's with Amelia. But they already knew as Steve's parents already told them.

"I told you guys there no need to worry. Now Anna and Maya would you like to have your coffee by the time I'll cook dinner for us."

"That's so sweet of you Noah but I think I'll leave after having my coffee. You and Anna can have the dinner."

"Chill Maya. Steve is safe and I have to tell you Noah is a very good cook. Let him cook something for us."

"Ok. I'll stay."

Noah smiled at us and walked towards the kitchen.

"Are you ok Maya?"

"Yes. What can happen to me."

"You look very upset since you got to know that he's with Amelia."

"No. I'm fine and Amelia is my best friend and I trust both of them."

"Look Maya I know Steve is a good guy it's just that he's too complicated with dating stuff. I already warned you that he's a playboy."

"He's changed Anna."

"Ok. Now tell me it's your birthday in the coming week. What's the plan."

"I don't know. I've still not planned anything but we'll have a party for sure. You guys and Tessa, Steph and Amelia will join us."

"That's a good plan. I'll help you with to arrange a party."

"Thanks Anna. You're too good."

"Actually you're too good and that's why people can hurt you because you trust people easily."

I smiled at her knowing that she was pointing towards Steve and Amelia.

By the time Noah appeared from the kitchen.

"So Anna and Maya would you like to join me for the dinner. I've cooked lasagna for us."

"Sure. We're too hungry." Anna said and pressed my arm so that I can come out of my thoughts we went for the dinner.
