13 Two goals

Song Yang was back in his bedroom. He was sitting on his bed and was thinking about his future goals.

For now, he had two short-term goals. The first one was to reach the third level of the Eight Meridians Opening realm and the second one was to refine and temper his muscles.

Refining and tempering all the muscles of his body would greatly increase his strength and speed, allowing him to fight and beat opponents with a cultivation level higher than his. For this reason, he preferred to devote his time and energy to doing it rather than rushing his Qi cultivation to increase his cultivation level.

Now that his goals were set, Song Yang sat cross-legged on the floor of his bedroom and started cultivating for the rest of the day.

...

Two months later.

Just thinking about the past two months made Song Yang wince, recalling painful memories. Refining and tempering his muscles had been extremely painful and much longer than he expected. He often had to stop the refinement process because he was on the verge of fainting or actually passed out during the refinement. If it weren't for the promise that he would get stronger, he would never have tortured himself like this...

The good news was that he finally managed to refine and temper all of his muscles the day prior. Now, he was much stronger than before, and as he concentrated he could feel strong power flowing through his muscles.

He also obviously managed to reach the third level of the Eight Meridians Opening realm a few weeks ago. At his current level, with his new refined muscles and his tough skin, he could easily compete against a cultivator at the fifth level of the Eight Meridians Opening realm. And, if he also used all of his Martial Arts along with his Heavenly Ice Qi, he might even beat someone at the sixth or seventh level!

Now that he had reached the third level, he could finally do missions for the sect. And, that was exactly what he attended to do. He was a little bored to stay in his room every day, only leaving his house to wash at the pond or to retrieve his monthly allowance. He wanted to explore new areas and discover new things!

Of course, cultivating was not the only thing he did these past two months. He had also tried to gather information about this world. Unfortunately, there was no library in this place because outer disciples were only expected to focus on their cultivation until they could become inner disciples...

Thankfully, he was still able to learn more about the sect and its surroundings thanks to Tan Yanyan and Xia Zilin.

The Myriad Clouds Sect was a Tier-1 sect located in the southern part of the Eastern Continent, which was the second strongest continent among the five of this world. The Eastern Continent was dominated by four Tier-1 sects who shared most of the resources among themselves. Obviously, the sharing of these resources was determined through several tournaments and trials between the disciples of these sects.

There were also a lot of Tier-2 and Tier-3 sects but apparently, these ones were not worth mentioning in front of the four Tier-1 sects.

Song Yang was able to learn the name of these four sects:

- In the North, the Sky Sword Sect

- In the South, the Myriad Clouds Sect

- In the East, the Noble Starfall Mountain

- In the West, the Sun Jade Palace

...

Song Yang was currently eating his breakfast and chatting with Tan Yanyan and Xia Zilin.

"After breakfast, I will go to the Mission Hall to take a mission. Want to go with me?" Asked Song Yang to his roommates.

"Mission? Did you already reach the third level of the Eight Meridians Opening realm?" Asked Tan Yanyan.

"Yes, not you?" Answered Song Yang.

He believed that two months should have been enough for them since he managed to breakthrough after only two weeks. He didn't yet have the ability to tell the cultivation level of other cultivators. He had learned that this ability, called Divine Sense, was only unlocked after reaching the Qi Condensation realm. And, unfortunately, his system was not equipped with an 'appraisal' function.

Both Tan Yanyan and Xia Zilin looked at him with widened eyes.

"How did you breakthrough so quickly? Even after consuming all of my Cultivation Pills, I still need at least two months to reach the third level!" Exclaimed Tan Yanyan.

"Yes, same for me." Said Xia Zilin, nodding.

Song Yang realized that he had made a mistake. He trusted his two roommates but he would never tell anyone about his true origin and his system.

"Sister Zilin, Sister Yanyan, I trust you and consider you two like my real sisters so I don't want to lie to you. But, I can't tell you how I did it..." Said Song Yang with a sad expression.

"Don't worry, I understand Sister Yu Qi." Said Xia Zilin.

"Yes, everyone has secrets." Said Tan Yanyan, smiling.

Song Yang sighed. His two roommates were very nice and he wished he could do something to help them. He really wanted to follow the path of cultivation alongside them but because of the difference between their talents, he knew that it was almost impossible. Unless, maybe, if they could find a treasure or if he obtained something via the gasha shop of his system to help them...

Song Yang took out and placed dozens of pills in front of him.

"Here, take these Cultivation Pills. Continue to focus on your cultivation and soon we will be able to do sect missions together." He said, smiling.

Since he never used the Cultivation Pills that he received from his monthly allowance, he still had more than forty of them on him, even after giving ten of them to Xia Zilin every month. His cultivation speed was already extremely fast so he clearly didn't need them. Giving them these pills was the minimum he could do to help them after everything they had done for him.

Seeing so many Cultivation Pills, Tan Yanyan and Xia Zilin became stunned.

"Sister Yu Qi, you can't give us so much!" Said Xia Zilin.

"Don't sacrifice all your resources for us. You should use them yourself, don't worry about us." Said Tan Yanyan.

"I'm giving you these pills because I don't need them. So, please, accept them without feeling guilty." Said Song Yang.

"Sister Yu Qi, are the rumors about you true? Are you really from a Hidden Martial Family?" Asked Xia Zilin. She couldn't help but wonder if it was true since her roommate could just give out more than forty Cultivation Pills without batting an eye.

There were rumors saying that in the Eastern Continent there were some Hidden Martial Families with as much power as Tier-1 sects, that was why members of these families were feared and respected. But, of course, since these families were hidden, these were only rumors and nothing else.

"I..." Sang Yang didn't know what to say since he had no idea if it was true or not.

"Sister Zilin, It's not polite to ask that to Sister Yu Qi!" Reprimanded Tan Yanyan.

"Y-You're right. I'm sorry Sister Yu Qi, I shouldn't have asked." Apologized Xia Zilin.

"Don't worry, it's fine. So, you two can take the pills now, right?" Said Song Yang.

"Well, if you insist... Thank you very much, Sister Yu Qi." Said Tan Yanyan.

"Thank you so much, Sister Yu Qi!" Exclaimed Xia Zilin.

Both Xia Zilin and Tan Yanyan thanked him and hugged him before sharing the pills between them.

'Ah, being hugged by two cute girls feels good!' Thought Song Yang.

After they finished breakfast, Song Yang left the house, heading for the Mission Hall.

As he walked, he remembered his conversation with his two roommates about the Hidden Martial Families.

After the tournament, two months ago, everyone in the sect seemed to believe that he was from one of these families. It was apparently the only plausible explanation as to how he learned two Martial Arts in a month and won the tournament.

Actually, even if it wasn't true, Song Yang thought that using this identity was not a bad idea. That way he could justify his rapid progress without appearing suspicious and even potentially dissuade the arrogant princesses and young masters that wanted to take revenge on him.

"Song Yu Qi!"

After a few minutes of walking, Song Yang suddenly heard someone calling him and turned to the direction of the voice.

He recognized that person, it was the girl that warned him to not approach 'Senior Brother Lei' or he would regret it. He remembered that her name was Xiao Wei. This time, the girl was accompanied by two other girls that Song Yang didn't recognize.

"What do you want?" He asked. He really didn't want to lose his time with this stupid girl.

"Someone told me that you tried to seduce Senior Brother Lei during the tournament! It seems that you didn't take my warning seriously the last time." She said, smirking cruelly.

"Ah? I don't know who told you that but it's total bullshit... Anyway, the tournament was over two months ago, why are you showing up only now?" He asked, curious.

"I have been in closed-door cultivation until now. Did you think that I wouldn't learn of what you did, vixen?" Answered Xiao Wei.

Song Yang sighed. Actually, he could easily resolve this stupid misunderstanding by telling her that he like girls and not boys, but he didn't know how homosexuals were seen and treated in this world. Since he didn't want to risk being discriminated against and ostracized by the sect, he didn't say anything about it.
