6 Chapter 6: Alchemy

Chapter 6: Alchemy

~Albus POV~

Taking my chances I began to take my leave.

Dumb as this is I couldn't get much help because of that fucking Huntsman basically humiliating me in front of everyone.

And soon after everyone in Shion followed suit not bothering me when I ask for Lien begging even and nothing.

With no choice, I was only left with what I had on me since I was left with no weapons nor means to get them.

Stealing was a no because I'm not sure of how the hunting systems work here in Remnant if I do something unlawful.

Having that thought in my mind I began to leave once I was fine with everything I had on me was only the clothes the man gave me to wear but when I returned he basically threw me out not wanting to be seen with me.

Guess when the big guy that has the power to protect you humiliates me I lost practically any normal sense of help.

Huntsman for help my ass.

Leaving with little choice I already left and began to walk aimlessly around Mistral fortunately the poor people from the refuge were kind enough to tell me where the direction of Argus was from Shion.

Unfortunately, I have to take the go-around route to Higanbana a village on the continent of Anima.

Unless I want to face the coldness of the mountains going to Higanbana is my best choice following the dirt path to Mistral City.

Recalling from the show Higanbana is a town that has an inn and a tavern and is along the road to Mistral City.

The same one that Team RNJR stops at the inn along their journey to rest.

Qrow Branwen watches them from the tavern, and Raven Branwen is there as well to get information from Qrow. She and Qrow talk over current events, quickly dissolving into an argument which eventually causes Raven to leave using her Kindred Link.

The very same one.

Oh, man, I knew traveling was going to be difficult, but I didn't know it was going to be so BORING!!!

Traveling on foot like seriously when the RWBY shows Ruby and friends traveling around the continent of Anima I guess it took time to travel…

Well, it's no use crying over spilled blood over it, besides the environment I have to be on the watch for Grimm and Bandits.

Especially if I meet with Raven Branwen don't want to meet her this early in this new world.

Hot or not I don't want to die as well as be forced into something I don't want to be part of.

Hopefully, I can find a way out of here soon enough.

/////

Walking around the place walking the followed path I can feel my stomach be in hunger as I tried to conserve as much energy as possible.

Man…

Guess having no one here doesn't really help me a lot except for future plot points in the story.

As much as I would like to return home soon that is highly unlikely to be the case.

Mom.

Dad.

Friends.

Shaking my head at this I can't focus on that right now.

No matter how much I really want to go home.

No amount of wishing or pleading would do me any good because, in the end, it would be meaningless.

If I cry and weep now I won't find a way back and even if I have had the chance what would the events be happening on Earth?

How much time has passed would have gone from here to earth?

My friends and family could be dead or waiting for me and what?

So many things can happen within my time here in Remnant but also I could long be dead before I have a chance to do anything with the plot.

Why do people always want to leave the world sometimes?

Was there anything wrong where they were from or something else?

No.

Shaking my head again I have to think of something to distract myself for the time being.

Even with my current strength what else can I do to give me the power boost?

Hmm…

OH!!

I know just the thing to do with my new free time.

/////

With me having some free time I began to remind the chemistry or atoms of this world since they went towards a different evolution route relying on Dust and no modern technological marvels in this era of stagnation.

The reason why I say Era of Stagnation is the truth.

Whenever the new idea of energy is introduced it's shut down because of the reason why do that when we have Dust from each Kingdom Council deciding it so.

They are just way too comfortable with what they have to ever let change happen idiots in that regard as they need change to grow.

Using Dust is good and all but that has limits till you run out of that resource and then what will Remnant do if that's the case?

Either A. they try to evolve and adapt to a new power source as soon as possible. Or B. welcome to the era of Sticks and Stones people.

At least that's what I get from reading the show of such ideas since everything has been done with Dust and nothing else such facts make I wonder what will happen when Remnant reaches a technological boom when I introduce the idea of Gunpower and such into this world.

Potassium nitrate, sulfur, and carbon react together to form nitrogen and carbon dioxide gases, heat energy, and potassium sulfide. The heat causes the gases to expand rapidly, producing an explosive force, providing the propelling action to create gunpowder.

The fireworks industry is one of the last major industries that still use traditional black powder. Rather than being one particular compound, gunpowder is actually a mix of three different components. It consists of potassium nitrate (75% by weight), charcoal (15% by weight), and sulfur (10% by weight).

But there are always the three main ingredients for them.

Gunpowder consists of three ingredients: potassium nitrate, Sulphur, and charcoal.

Ok next up time to study up on the next best thing for a human-like me to learn without combat skills.

Alchemy.

Taking my time, I try to recall anything from the FMA anime.

Stopping under the tree to conserve some energy I need to learn about Alchemy from Fullmetal Alchemist to help better understand my situation as well as its uses that are absolutely amazing.

Alchemy, it is the scientific technique of understanding the structure of matter, decomposing it, and then reconstructing it. If performed skillfully, it is even possible to create gold out of lead.

However, as it is a science, there are some natural principles in place. Only one thing can be created from something else of a certain mass.

This is the Principle of Equivalent Exchange in order to obtain or create something, something of equal value must be lost or destroyed.

In standard practice, Equivalent Exchange is separated into two parts:

The Law of Conservation of Mass, which states that energy and matter can neither be created from nothing nor destroyed to the point of elemental nonexistence.

In other words, to create an object with the mass of one kilogram, at least one kilogram of material is necessary; destroying an object with the mass of one kilogram would reduce it to a set of parts, the sum of which would have the mass of one kilogram.

The Law of Natural Providence, which states that an object or material made of a particular substance or element can only be transmuted into another object with the same basic makeup and properties of that initial material.

In other words, an object or material made mostly of water can only be transmuted into another object with the attributes of water.

Classic series with badass powers and molecular manipulation at its finest.

The best part anyone can do it!

So long as they have the brains and talents for it that is.

Alchemy is, as it is understood in the Fullmetal Alchemist series, the ancient metaphysical science/mystical art of manipulating and altering matter by using natural energy. This act is known as 'Transmutation' and its sequence is usually described as:

Comprehension - Understanding the inherent structure and properties of the atomic or molecular makeup of a particular material to be transmuted, including the flow and balance of potential and kinetic energy within.

Deconstruction - Using energy to break down the physical structure of the identified material into a more malleable state so as to be easily reshaped into a new form.

Reconstruction - Continuing the flow of energy so as to reform the material into a new shape.

The proper application of this craft requires not only a full understanding of chemistry and ancient alchemical theory but also a sort of natural talent for recognizing and manipulating the physical objects with energy, which require uncommon levels of intelligence and aptitude.

Alchemy is connected to The Gate, as demonstrated when Ed traded his individual Gate for Al, losing his ability to practice alchemy in the process.

But all of that is useless if they don't have the method or sign to transmute the energy.

And that's where the Transmutation circle comes in.

Though no machine or equipment is needed to produce the energy necessary for transmutation, merely understanding the sequence of transmutation and the limitations of Equivalent Exchange is not enough.

In order to begin an alchemical transmutation, a symbol called a Transmutation Circle is necessary.

A Transmutation Circle can either be drawn on the spot when a transmutation is necessary in chalk, pencil, ink, paint, thread, blood, or even traced in dirt or permanently etched or inscribed beforehand, but without it, transmutation is generally impossible.

All Transmutation Circles are made up of two parts:

The circle itself is a conduit that focuses and dictates the flow of power, tapping into the energies that already exist within the earth and matter. It represents the cyclical flow of the world's energies and phenomena and turns that power to manipulable ends.

Inside the circle are specific alchemical runes.

These runes vary widely based on ancient alchemical studies, texts, and experimentation, but correspond to a different form of energy, allowing the energy that is focused within the circle to be released in the way most conducive to the alchemist's desired effect.

In basic alchemy, these runes will often take the form of triangles which, when positioned differently, can represent the elements of either water, earth, fire, or air, but will often be composed of varying polygons built from different triangles.

For example, the hexagram is a commonly used base rune in Transmutation Circles because it creates eight multi-directional triangles when inscribed and can, therefore, represent all four classical elements at once.

Other, more esoteric runes including astrological symbols, symbolic images, and varying lines of text are prevalent and represent a multitude of other, specific functions for the alchemical energy that is released.

At least in theory if you know what you're doing it should be possible.

I have already seen the anime enough to know how to draw a basic transmutation as I began to draw a basic transmutation circle allowing me to have a hexagram on the dirt ground.

Very basic as you can see.

And even the MC during their kid years were able to pull it off.

Since I have a grasp of what alchemy is and the composition of dirt I began to test this idea out for the sake of my curiosity and hopefulness about this working.

*ZZZ*

Blue sparks suddenly appeared onto the circle on the dirt as it began The Law of Conversion of Mass as it took the mass of the dirt as I manipulated into something else entirely as The Law of Natural Providence taking effect using the ground attribute to create another in the same way.

Understanding this I began to place my hands to activate the power of Alchemy understanding the basics as I saw the basic transmutation circle activate but also needed my intent and focus to accomplish this task.

To be honest I somehow feel tired just doing the equations in my head is this what other Alchemists felt like when they did the entrance exam?

Man, that's rough buddy.

But when all was said and done I see a particular statue created as I couldn't help but smirked at this calmly and happily, "This… with this… I can certainly increase my means of versatility. The power of Alchemy then I can possibly…"

I left the words unsaid as with this possible in this world…

The possibility of obtaining the powers of a Homunculus or more specifically their unique abilities.

A prime example of what I mean is the human-based King Bradley who was Wrath and Ling who was Greed.

While they did become human-based Homunculus they never did get a bonus of strength only more long lasting life and special abilities of their respective ultimate which I can replicate because of their another ability.

And they even have the Molecular Mutability they have which could prove useful for me to have.

Molecular Mutability: Because their bodies do not have souls, the constituent molecules that constitute the Homunculi's bodies can be rearranged to form other substances or to grant shape-changing abilities. The Homunculus Greed is able to rearrange the carbon bonds in his skin to turn it into diamond-hard armor.

Oh, the possibilities with these will prove useful in the end.

Just need to find a couple of human scum bags that I won't hesitate to turn into philosophers to work.

Having those two powers will be a great boon for me to have.

But also having alchemy would be good as well.
