Chapter 47: Unexpected

Chapter 47: Unexpected

~Albus POV~

You know helping out the Faunus has been a really great effort on my part as I help the Slums out rebuilding some stuff and their establishments as all my efforts into making them a great place have been good.

"Yo kid!"

Turning around I then saw Maria comes towards me with some sandwich in her bag as she smiles at me, "Heh. So that's where you went after not finding yourself in Pietro Pharmacy. You been helping everyone out here?"

Nodding at that I saw her smirk as she wore different clothing as she began to hand me the food as she spoke to me, "Kid since you have been doing a good job thus far how about I treat you to a hotel upstairs on the elite? Pietro managed to give us enough Lien to sleep for the remaining three days on Atlas."

Atlas huh?

Raising my eyebrow at that Maria knows my look as she sighs as she began to explain to me about the sudden change, "Yeah, I know just got notified from our friend. He gave us enough Lien since his busy for the next week busy with his project so he gave us Lien to go towards the hotel in Atlas."

Hmm…

Makes sense since he's going to be very busy with his newest project.

Like that, I followed after Maria as she got us an airship to fly us to the place using the transport system they have here.

Welp let's see how it feels in Atlas.

/////

I have to say it's unique that's for certain.

Atlas is a large metropolitan city in the Kingdom of Atlas, sitting atop a floating island above the city of Mantle. The city was extremely advanced, with many towers and skyscrapers of all sizes being visible at a distance, all seemingly with a blue color scheme to them.

Atlas was seen as having platforms on the underside of the floating island and Atlas Academy was situated at the center of the city. There was a massive hill to one side of the city, atop of which Schnee Manor used to reside.

To the bottom of the floating city, the district of Old Mantle was seen above a massive, crescent-shaped airport. Farmlands were seen to either side of Old Mantle.

The entire city was surrounded by a Hard-Light barrier that was projected by forked spires stationed around the perimeter of the floating island. However, if one of the towers was disabled then the whole barrier would be disabled.

Additionally, large train rails in the form of rings circling around allowed for mass public transportation. The tracks were projected by large towers, using Hard-Light Dust.

Otherwise, the beauty of it is the only thing worth notifying as Maria began to bump my shoulder getting her attention, "Hey kid no worries. Just stick by me and you get the chance to increase your experience here. Plus you might get a few pointers from the place we're heading to for the night."

Maria now has my interest.

Talking to her my curiosity peaked from how she spoke I began to talk to her about what she meant as I replied, "Really? Know a place in this elitist place like this that won't give me the stink or wrath of the entire Atlas military?"

She laughs at my poorly attempted joke as she smacks me at the back of my shoulders as she replies, "Hahaha! Good one kid. But no the place we're going is reserved for Huntsman and Huntresses as well as their student's entry inside. It's called the Glass Unicorn."

Glass Unicorn…?

Why do I get a distinctive feeling from it?

Only nodding we waited as I enjoyed the view as well as the free tutor session with Maria about more subjects of Aura.

*THUD*

That was till the airship stopped as we finally landed at Atlas I began to view the place for the first time and the sneers along with rich snobs are also present in the area glancing at me as I was tempted to give them the finger.

But ignoring them I followed after Maria as she held my hand as she dragged me along as she spoke, "Now come on kid. We have better things to do than listen to these stuck-up punks. Come I promise you'll have a blast."

Rolling my eyes but a noticeable smug expression appeared on my face as I knew what Maria was doing.

While walking towards our destination or more like following Maria's lead I was met with some scoffs and clicks of tongues as Maria glances at me as I shrug off the elite concerns as we continue onwards.

"Geez… didn't expect it to be this bad for you kid."

"No worries their annoyances to me are nothing I have been through."

"Heh. AT least your made from the different cloth kid."

"Well, Maria I did have a legend train me."

"Sure just don't get a big ego kid."

"Hahaha."

We both battered our words to each other till Maria finally says the place we finally got to as she spoke, "And lookie here kid. This is the place I was talking about."

Oh…

So that was why it felt familiar to me earlier.

Because this was Cinder's origin story…

Welp…

This might get interesting.

Following Maria, she began to get through the process as I began to analyze everything here.

The Glass Unicorn was an enormous, luxurious multi-story hotel situated in the city of Atlas. It appeared to have five floors, including a lobby, and various kitchens. The hotel's ceiling was made of glass. The walls were golden and brown in color, and it has red carpets along the floor.

The hotel's lobby was shown to have various glass sculptures of creatures of Grimm, including Ursai, Sea Feilongs, Sabers, and Beowolves. It also featured a large clock above the lobby desk which rang loudly at midnight.

The hotel featured an abandoned storage room, which upon Cinder's adoption, was used to keep her at night as her room, where Cinder would use old sheets as blankets and pillows.

Eventually, when Rhodes decided to train her, the room was largely cleared out by pushing debris out of the way to form a small sparring room. It had an outside view of the city, where the Moon could clearly be seen.

In the years after Cinder worked there, the building was shown to have lost the logo and was heavily damaged following the Grimm attack on Atlas.

But to my general understanding though this place is a complete shit show.

The Glass Unicorn was a hotel in Atlas where a young Cinder Fall was raised and put to work after being taken in from an orphanage in Mistral. It was managed by the Madame and her daughters before their deaths.

Looking around the place I lay my eyes on the area using my Ultimate Eye to get a better understanding of the people of the area till I finally lay my eyes on the certain duo of bitches and Cinder herself cleaning up.

Well…

Looks like my three days might get interesting.

~??? POV~

How strange?

One I thought I was dead and the next I'm here not in my body surely but quite peculiar and the boy…

I've never seen anyone like him from Atlas or Mantle quite odd but even odder is my predicament.

Maybe he did but I am highly doubtful as I would've found him out.

But the thing is here though I was just a small form of a ghost at first no thoughts whatsoever ever since I felt large amounts of Magic in the air I managed to gather what remnants I had left to become well…

A ghost…?

Spirit maybe?

Guess there is a first time for everything and when I did go away I made sure to help my friends out.

At least I think I did as my soul died… or at least I think it did.

But here though…

In the beginning, I was just aimlessly moving around at the time but… for a particular reason, this version of Remnant seems to have added magic more than I have my Maiden powers enough to form a ghost.

But the odd thing was it was always near this peculiar… human… homunculi's… something not human but made it possible to use magic.

Like PURE magic power being released from him.

I've seen his story so far from the first to come as a spirit or whatever I was when I started to remember who I once was at least not in the beginning.

However, that changed when he first released this black and blue or red energy that allowed me to absorb it at the time it begin forming around.

Next came magic as the more he used sparingly the more I felt I remember who I was or possibly something more.

Then the more I see this human interaction the more I remember my time in Remnant with a body not as a spirit like this but… the more he releases his Mana he calls it the more I can finally make myself have a semi-tangable physical form.

At least I hope to think that?

He almost managed to find me out soon when I tried to spy on him for a bit.

Even though Jaune killed me I guess my aura/soul met Winter to give her the power as I was forced to leave only for the gates to close as my soul merely wandered where ever it left out of that pocket dimension.

In the beginning, I watch this Albus Burn come out of seemingly nowhere, and as a ghost, with no thoughts I couldn't do anything or much considering the fact I was merely wandering around but thanks to his… unique powers I managed to get my sentience again.

*Brrr*

Seriously though this… Cursed Energy he used is truly fascinating.

For now, I'll continue to observe him for the time being as maybe when I have enough mana and cursed energy, he used I can talk to him to explain how he knows so much.

*Shiii*

Uh oh.

Looks like I used a bit much energy for now I need to sleep near those spirits for the time being.

They really seem to be nice beings.

Mentioning fusing with me to become a Great Spirit I do not get it but maybe they can be friendly.

For now – Ahh~

I need to sleep to recover as much Mana from Albus as possible though the atmosphere around Albus as the spirits are teaching me how to around them.
