18 Chapter - 18
CHAPTER 18 – The skirmish, Eastern Forest, and Vulcan.

"Go Kazuma, beat that bald man to a black-and-blue." I say.
"Eh?" –Kazuma.
Looks like his brain is still frozen or something.

The atmosphere in the bar grew chilly due to the arrival of Boze and his minions. They were the ones who had followed Yato's group from the start. Upon entering Magnolia city, Yato realized that they had been followed by Boze and his minions. Perhaps because Yato's group consisted of young men and little girls (outward appearances only) and without the wizard guild tattoos, Boze found Yato's group easy to bully.
Eventually, Boze and his minions followed Yato all the way to a secluded bar. Thinking this was a good opportunity for being in such a secluded place, Boze immediately took action against Yato's group.
Currently, when Boze and his minions are causing trouble to Yato's group in the bar, it looks like Boze is holding his anger towards Kazuma. On the other hand, Touya and Rimuru were just watching the show without any intention of petrifying Kazuma. Meanwhile Diablo was still lying on the table from being too drunk.
For Yato, he just casually watched the show with Touya and Rimuru. Yato started drinking his beer slowly while waiting for the show before him.
Kazuma who was the main character in the show started to tremble in fear, although he could hide the fact that he was scared now. It seemed like Kazuma's acting skills weren't any worse than Diablo's.
Kazuma started glancing at the others for help using his eyes. He looked at Yato as if saying 'What are you doing Yato! Why are you throwing this matter at me!'
Whereas Yato just stared back at Kazuma as if to say- 'eh didn't you say they were just unimportant thugs. Can't you solve this problem? Eh, you can't do something that easy? Can't you?' as if mocking Kazuma.
'O-Of course I can, damn it!' Kazuma retorted as he looked at Yato as if speaking with his eyes.
*Bam*
Suddenly Boze slammed his hand on the table feeling that he was being ignored. "Oi, don't ignore me! I'll show you my magic now… get ready!"
When Boze said that, he started to distance himself and raised his hand towards Kazuma.
"Oi, oi, oi. Wait a minute!" Kazuma who saw it stood up in a panic.
But Boze didn't want to wait any longer and started activating his magic. Boze's hands began to emit magic energy and formed a purple magic circle.
Yato who saw it became slightly interested and started to analyze Boze's magic. Before Boze even finished activating his magic, Yato already knew what magic Boze would cast.
'Sound magic huh.' Yato thought.
Boze's [Sound Magic] is magic that utilizes varying degrees of sound intensity, which can knock the target out of the way. This is only a small part of the actual [Sound magic].
[Sound Magic] belongs to the [Null Magic] category which is literally referred to as "Attribute-lacking Magic" or "Attributeless Magic". [Null Magic: Sound Magic] is also one of the derivatives of [Null Magic: vibration magic].
In Touya's world, [Null Magic] is said to be personal magic, as only people who possess the spell can use it. Although, actually if one could understand the basic concept of the magic then others could use it too. For example, if one understands the basic concept of "sound", then one will be able to use sound-based [Null Magic].
However, because the science and science in Touya's world are very low, then not many people can understand the concept of science like that. So, only people born with the [Null Magic] spell can use it.
Sound is a vibration that propagates as an acoustic wave or a longitudinal wave that propagates through a transmission medium. To produce sound, a sound source, medium, and sound receiver are needed.
Sound waves can travel at speeds between 330 m/s to 5,400 m/s. The speed of sound depends on the type of medium. For example, a sound wave propagates in water, then its speed will be slower than if it propagates in air.
This ability can be utilized in various ways if the user understands "sound" well. Like Yato who can make a soundproof room suitable for an assassin.
[Sound Magic: Howling]
The purple magic circle that Boze made started to send a swarm of musical notes towards Kazuma, the musical notes sent a loud shrill sound towards Kazuma and the others. If people take this shrill sound for too long they will faint.
"Kuh!" –Kazuma.
"Ha ha ha! Weak, weak, very weak. Surrender, you can't beat me!" –Boze.
"That's right, That's right!" – Boze's minion.
Since Yato was also within the range of [Sound Magic], Yato activated [Silence] which made the room soundproof by cutting off the median from the sound source so that it could not transmit sound to Yato.
Because they were beside Yato, Rimuru and Touya were also included in Yato's [Silence] skill range. Unfortunately, Diablo who was near Kazuma was hit by Boze's [Sound Magic] range.
This made Kazuma cover his ears with both hands as he heard a loud shrill sound. Meanwhile, being within the range of [Sound Magic]'s attack, Diablo who was sound asleep from drunkenness woke up from his sleep.
Diablo started to stand up with his face red from the rest of the alcohol and had a displeased expression from being disturbed while sleeping.
Diablo started to turn around and saw the source of the shrill voice that woke him up.
"Very noisy!" With an annoyed expression, Diablo shouted and raised his wand at Boze.
Without thinking, Diablo immediately activated his elemental magic.
[Ice Magic: Freezia]
Instantly a light blue magic circle formed in front of Diablo's wand aiming at Boze. Instantly Diablo's magic energy headed for Boze's body in the form of cold energy.
"Eh?" –Boze.
"Boss!" – Boze's minion.
Boze who was hit by the magic from Diablo instantly froze into an ice sculpture. After that, Diablo went back to sleep on the table.
[Ice Magic] is a higher level of [Water Magic] or you could say the evolution of [Water Magic]. [Ice Magic] is the ability to manipulate water on a molecular level, by stopping the movement of water molecules using magic the hydrogen bonds in the water will become stronger. When the hydrogen in the water gets stronger, the water will turn into ice. With this ability, the user can freeze water in an instant.
[Ice Magic: Freezia] is the ability to stop the movement of water molecules around the target using magic, which freezes the target's body in an instant.
After Boze froze because of Diablo's magic, the effect of [Sound Magic] also stopped. This made Kazuma who was affected by the attack calm down and sigh. Even if it was only for a moment, Kazuma felt the effects and almost fainted.
As usual, Kazuma survived due to his extremely high luck status. Although no one knows, it belongs to the lucky category or not.
"Damn it! My ears hurt so bad! Yato bastard, why don't you help me!" – Kazuma shouted.
"Ahahaha." –Rimuru.
"…ah, come here Kazuma-san, I will heal you." – said Touya in an awkward tone.
After that Touya used [Heal] to heal Kazuma and Yato only used [Time Magic: Rewind] to make Diablo's body return to the time when he wasn't drunk yet.
When Diablo came back, he didn't even remember what he had done to Boze. Diablo just asked with an innocent face "Why is someone frozen here?" as if it wasn't his fault.
Then Yato and the others just continued eating as usual and left the bar after they finished eating. Of course, Yato pays more for the damage caused by his friends.
Yato's group returned to the inn as it approached midnight slightly tired after walking around for a while. The five of them went straight to the room and fell asleep with sound faces.
This is just a small episode of Yato's group.

The next morning, I woke up a little late as planned. After waking up, I started cleaning myself using magic and changed my clothes using [Arc of Embodiment Magic].
I'm wearing a long black shirt with a gold Asian dragon pattern on the left side, a long black coat, long black pants, and black Derby shoes.
After that, I left the room and walked downstairs. Because I sensed that the others were downstairs, which was a small bar.
*tap* *tap* *tap*
My footsteps echoed as I descended the stairs. When I got to the bottom floor, I saw Touya and the others talking casually while having breakfast and drinking the beer or milk sold at the inn's bar.
Honestly, it's quite strange to see a little girl drinking beer with a happy face in person.
Hearing my footsteps, Touya and the others turned and greeted me.
"Well, you're finally awake." –Kazuma.
"Good morning, Nii-san." –Touya.
"Good morning, Yato-san…" –Rimuru & Diablo.
"Good morning…" I walked over to where they were sitting while greeting them.
Then I ordered a vegetable salad, fried shrimp, grilled sausage and hot coffee for breakfast this morning.
I sat on the chair and listened to their conversation. Looks like they've talked a bit about our mission.
"Nii-san, I've searched for the location of the Tower of Heaven using my smartphone." –Touya.
"Is that so? So where is it located?" I asked.
"It is located on a small island near the coast of the Caelum kingdom, to the southeast of Magnolia city." Touya explained while showing his smartphone which displayed the location of [Tower of Heaven] on the map.
I started to look at it and noticed that we should go to [Akane beach] first, then continue our journey by sea to the [Tower of Heaven]. To get to [Akane beach], we have to go through the wilderness or take a detour through the town of [Hargeon].
"That's quite far." I say.
"That's right, it looks like it will take quite a while if we walk." –Rimuru.
I can't use [Teleport], because I haven't visited it and don't know its exact location. Touya was also unable to use [Gate] for the same reason.
Even though I can use [Eye of God] to see the location from here and use [Teleport] to go there, but I won't say it. I want to enjoy this world slowly. Maybe I should take Karen here on vacation, yup I will.
"I can build a vehicle, but it still seems like it will take some time. So let's do this slowly." I say.
"Umu, are we going straight after this?" – Diablo.
"I think we should leave soon, wouldn't the sooner the better?" –Kazuma.
"That's right, the longer we get there, the longer the slaves there suffer." –Touya.
"That's right…" –Rimuru.
"Let's go after breakfast." I say.
"Yes." x4.
After a while, the food and drink I ordered arrived. I started to eat my breakfast, although it wasn't very good for me. But, still within my tolerance limit.
When we finished breakfast, we immediately returned the room key and left the inn. We walked towards the east exit of [Magnolia] town.
On the way to the town exit gate, I bought equipment for Kazuma and bought some food for the trip. Since only Kazuma didn't bring his equipment, I should at least give him minimal equipment. If not, maybe Kazuma will die somewhere, although it's unlikely with his 'luck stat'.
When we reached the east gate, we continued walking until we came to a deserted location.
"Let's stop here." I say.
Hearing my words, they stopped walking and looked at me curiously.
"I will build a vehicle." I continued.
I activated [Arc of Embodiment Magic] and started imagining the vehicle I wanted to build in my head. Then a dark purple magic circle appeared that gave off a dark purple gas.
The gas started to form a car and after a while, the vehicle I imagined appeared before the five of us.
The vehicle is a Mercedes-Benz G 55 AMG off-road car with several modifications. The off-road car is all black with some protective iron on the front. Although, this car will only move due to magic. Because I don't know the details about the engine that drives the car.
"Whoa." –Kazuma.
"Cool car… can I drive it?" –Rimuru.
"Maybe later, we'll take turns." I say.
"Then, promise!" – Rimuru said enthusiastically.
Looks like he really wants to try driving this car. Well, after all, this is one of the most expensive offroad cars in the modern world.
I prefer to build cars instead of planes or helicopters because besides I can't drive planes, although I can use magic to fly them, I prefer to use cars so I can enjoy the scenery in this world up close.
Honestly, even though this mission is to save the slaves from the [Tower of Heaven], it doesn't mean I'm as enthusiastic about doing it as Touya. For me, as long as it doesn't have anything to do with me, my family, or people close to me, I won't really care.
I did this mission only because I was slightly interested in this world and some anime characters connected to our mission. After all, this is an anime world that comes from my old world. In a way, it was my long-held dream, to travel the world of [Fairy Tail].
That's why I prefer to use a car to enjoy the adventures of this world.
We all started to get into the car with me in the driver's seat and Touya beside me as a guide. The others were in the back seat.
"Everyone ready?" I asked.
"Yes!" x4.
After everyone has entered and is wearing seat belts. I started the car engine.

*Vroom* *Vroom* *Vroom*
I started driving the car southeast towards [Akane Beach]. We continued to drive southeast, luckily there was already a dirt road, which might have been formed by carts or something.
So, we were able to drive better, although following the dirt road we had to make a bit of a detour, because the road is going a bit east rather than southeast and the road is not very smooth. But, not too bad either.
On the way, we just talked and joked, occasionally singing. Somehow this feels like a vacation trip to the mountains or the forest.
After driving for one or two hours, we started to enter the forest called [East Forest], this [East forest] is one of the two largest forests in the Fiore kingdom which is on the east side of Fiore. While the other largest forest is in the northern part of [Mt. Hakobe] is called [Waas Forest].
Usually, to reach [Akane Beach], people would go to [Hargeon] to the south of [Magnolia]. Then, from [Hargeon] head east towards [Akane Beach]. Because the road has been paved using stone, so it is better and easier. Although, have to rotate.
But, because we, or rather the others wanted to get to the mission goal faster. We chose to cut our way through this eastern forest.
We continued to drive in the forest. The scenery of shady trees and shrubs in this world is very beautiful. With beautiful trees and flowers that I don't know the name of and won't be able to find in my world.
As we were walking in the forest, I felt a presence approaching us quite quickly. This caught my attention a bit, so I stopped my car and waited for him to arrive.

"Hmm, what's wrong nii-san?" –Touya asked in confusion, and the others were also confused by my action of stopping halfway.
"…nothing, just something is coming." I said casually.
"Hmm? Something?" hearing my reply made Touya even more confused. Therefore, Touya immediately opened his smartphone and opened the map application. "Ah that's right there is a point coming towards us and it seems… hostile. It's coming from the left." Touya said.
"Huh, really?" – Diablo.
Hearing what we said, the others became interested and glanced out the left window.
After a while of waiting, we could see a fairly large shadow approaching us. The figure walked through the forest and thickets.
*Rustle* *Rustle*
What emerged from within the forest was a gorilla? I think.
"Giant Ape?" –Rimuru.
"Isn't that just a green gorilla?" –Kazuma.
"Umu, it's a gorilla." – Diablo.

'Vulcan? Hmm, the physical strength is quite high, but the magic is average.' – thought Yato.
Vulcans are an anthropomorphic race that resembles primates. They have distinctive facial features, with an elongated chin, elongated ears, and a pointed head that resembles a single horn on top of their head. Vulcans have giant arms and big hands with their muscular bodies.
Compared to their bulky and muscular upper bodies, Vulcans have a smaller pair of legs and have long tails that connect to the lower half of their bodies. The feathers on their arms form a decorative pattern that is unique to each species.
Vulcans have three species that exist in different environments. Vulcan mountain dwells in a cave pit at [Mt. Hakobe] which is in the highlands, then there are Rose Vulcans which are the female-only Vulcans in the [Rose Mountain], while Gorian lives in the wide and deep forest, namely the [East Forest] which Yato's group passes through.
Gorian or Forest Vulcans have green fur and a bright purple chest, belly, ears, and facial features. Unlike the Mountain Vulcans, their eyes had no pupils and seemed to glow. The underparts of the Gorian are dark-green and the decorative pattern on their arms consists of five pink hearts on each sleeve.
The Gorian stood beside the car and looked at those in the car.
"Humans… this is my territory…" –Gorian.
"Wow, that monster is talking!" –Kazuma.
"That's right… so, what should we do with him?" –Touya.
"He can speak because he has the [Human Speech] skill, which helps him understand human language easily." –Obviously Yato.
"Is that so... besides that does he have any other skills Yato-san?" –Rimuru.
"Besides he has [Take Over] and [Enhance Strength] skills." Answer Yato
"Take Over?" asked Rimuru curiously.
Hearing Rimumu's question, Yato then started to explain the [Take Over] skill.
[Take Over] is advanced transformation magic. [Take Over] allows the user to "take over" the power or even the body of the target (another entity) and use it to fight. It can increase the user's strength, endurance, and speed. Sometimes it can also add new skills to the user.
One can only "take over" the powers of beings they truly "know". [Take Over] is only a derivative of [Spirit Magic] as it is the ability to disturb the souls of other entities and borrow the abilities of other entities.
"In other words, [Take Over] allows the user to imitate another individual's characteristics and skills or even control another individual's body directly." –Obviously Yato.
"I see… quite interesting, similar to my [Predator] skill, but also different." –Rimuru.
"Nii-san… The gorilla is in front." –Touya.
While they were talking, the Gorian who had appeared earlier had already moved to the front of the car and was looking at them through the windshield. Gorian was lifting the trunk of a giant tree that didn't know when and where he took it.
"Humans… get out… or die." – Said Gorian with a cruel smile as he lifted the trunk of a giant tree that was twice as big as Yato's car.
"Looks like he's getting in the way… anyone wants to fight him?" – asked Yato as he looked at his friends sitting in the back.
"Ehh, it looks scary… pass." –Kazuma.
"I! I! Maybe I can combine [Take Over] with my [Predator] skill using [Degenerate: Synthesis]." –said Rimuru enthusiastically while raising his hand.
"I see… go." –Yato.
"Yosh." –Rimuru said and got out of the car.
