3 Chapter 1 - Isekai?

Gaia.

Hiroto opened his eyes and looked around confused for a moment. The place seemed to be a large cathedral-like place, there were many guards around wearing medieval iron-plate armors which looked heavy. Those spears and shields looked intimidating adding that their faces that looked battle hardened, it made the guys and girls flinch.

"Who are you and where are we?" the blonde male said to the guards but they didn't answer.

'I don't know where this guy's confidence comes from but I wouldn't do that if I were you.'

Hiroto took his phone in his pocket and saw it was not functional. He was dismayed and his soul leaving this new world.

'My latest ROG phone! I've just got it this year and it's already broken, hah, how unlucky am I?'

Hiroto couldn't help but curse. Maybe there was still a lingering thought of not wanting to be isekai'd deep in his mind but since it already happened, there's no choice but to embrace it.

There were five people beside him. They were the two girls and two boys and the girl from before.

One, two, three, four, five and me?

Are~h, he somehow felt that he got dragged here with them? Was he like some kind of a protagonist now?

Hiroto clicked his tongue, 'Heh it's more like the blonde-guy and his friend suited the hero and three friends scenario.'

He shaked his head from the unwanted thoughts.

The others seemed occupied and started getting restless, panicking but it was useless.

Hiroto and the violet-haired girl beside him kept quiet as she calmly looked around. He glanced at the violet haired girl and saw she didn't seem bothered that they just appeared in an unknown environment with the use of a magical phenomenon, an unreal transportation method from the isekai genre of television animations seen on the tv screens.

The blonde-haired guy asked, "Hey, guys do you know this place? Let's have an introduction, I'm Kaito Suzuki."

Sumi looked at Kaito emotionlessly before saying, "Sumi Hirano, no.." She didn't say anything anymore after saying her part as she's apparently not interested in answering any more questions coming from the Kaito's party. Sumi quickly goes into her investigation mode.

"What's with your problem?" it got the pink haired girl named Ayumi Nakamura nervous as she asked her with annoyance.

"Asking me doesn't mean I'm obligated to answer you." Sumi looked at her and plainly replied with a nonchalant face.

'A cold and antisocial girl although she's a rare beauty. What a feast in the eye, hehe.

"You..." Ayumi looked incensed.

Wow, a riff from the start, this totally predictable scenario. Hiroto felt like a gum was stuck on his throat.

"Calm down, we don't know anything about this place. It's not the time to get angry at each other. We might anger those guys." The orange haired girl named Emiko Watanabe pacified her friend and whispered in her friend's ears, it's not good to fight in this strange place, they all came from earth after all.

"Hmmp~ we should leave this girl alone." Ayumi said as she looked at Sumi with an 'if you irritate me again, you're dead' expression, although Sumi who's targeted doesn't really bother to look at her and care about her opinion at all, this made Ayumi really angry.

Kaito coughed and decided not to disturb the frosty girl any longer since she was too cold. He could only proceed to talk to the other person with them. Starting by looking at the hobo wearing a mask, draped over a faded huge jacket, and holding a paper bag in his right hand which seems to contain a lot of 'unique' items. He was already reflecting to reconsider if he should talk to this guy. (An: Aiyo don't be like that.)

Kaito could tell right away that this person was a typical otaku without using the word "fat." (AN: Sorry~ Tehee... ) They weren't hated, but they were avoided because they were unclean? Or it might just be because Hiroto was unhygienic and smells a little strange.

In fact, Hiroto had an average appearance and figure, but he was skinny due to his poor eating habits.

Kaito was reluctant and still asked Hiroto regardless.

"I'm Hiroto. I think I got dragged here too." Hiroto said straightly, his social skills were maybe out of touch due to being an otaku. But there wasn't a reason that he wouldn't be able to reply back to a simple question.

Back then, he usually played eroge and used voice chats in games, playing with some online friends or when he usually visited maid cafes and conventions where he used to chat with others and make friends due to their identical lifestyle and similar hobbies.

"So we're all the same, hmmm… You two should stick close to us" Kaito nodded at him.

Hiroto plainly nodded.

Kaito left behind the socially awkward duo and confronted the guards, "Where are we and who are you?"

"Why did you bring us here?" Kaito had so many questions as he bombarded the guards with questions but was left with no answers. He was in a defensive posture, covering the others at his back like a knight. The pink haired girl looked at him with hearts in her eyes.

Hiroto gulped and thought it wouldn't work out like that. But kudos to him for giving it a shot.

'This guy is a madlad.'

After a while, an old-priest appeared in the door wearing a white priest's clothing while holding a wooden staff. The old-priest said with a cough, "We welcome the heroes from the other world. We're sorry for the rudeness of the sudden turns of the events but can you please hear us for a bit? We hope you will save our world!"

As expected but,

'Crap that's too direct! I predicted it would be a cliche! Too much~~! Too much! Ueee~? Wait, why could I understand his weird language? Is this a peak of a transmigration cliche?' Hiroto cringed. Although the language was not Japanese, they were able to understand and talk in it.

The old-man bowed and waited for them to answer, all of them pretty much had dire questions on their heads. They weren't some hot-blooded teenager who spat words like water fountain. After calming themselves, they began thinking on what to ask.

"Can we go back to our world?" Genji asked.

"You had a lot of questions but I think you should meet the majesty and hear him out first." Amos suggested. Everyone nodded, there's no reason not to decline since they don't know how to get back to earth.

After a while, Kaito with his muscular black-haired buddy had made up their questions and asked the old-man a few more questions..

'What is this? Uwaa.'

Hiroto felt irked and lightly irritated at the events happening. Think about it, if you read and watched the same topic all over again it would surely be pretty bland and boring. The fact that it was happening in real life was undeniably a cringe worthy moment. Definitely a hundred percent cringe, but as an average cringe isekai fan, he isn't distured at what's happening.

Apparently, the world they were in was called Gaia, and they were exactly at the Holy Kingdom, one of the main kingdoms of the Bazas Continent. It is one of the central places of the human kingdom.

They were called because, apparently, there was a new demon lord on the throne and they needed the heroes' help, alongside the crusaders to fight them back and bring world peace to the world. Additionally, there were other chaotic beings in the world, and they couldn't deal with them for the meantime. It's just a generic storyline, who made up this world. (AN: It is I, the one and only author, muhahaha!)

It's hard to accept a role you didn't volunteer into. Moreover, everyone has their own attitude towards justice, not everyone is selfless, they have their own motives and wants.

Have they already accepted their role in this new world? Of course not, they were forced to be a hero and didn't even have the chance to say anything. They are powerless right now to do anything. Of course that could change in the future but the main focus right now is to learn everything in this world.

Hiroto cringed, 'I'm for sure, I don't want to be a hero of justice because I, Hiroto Kazuhito, have a dream!' It was about his fantasy of transporting to another world, doing what he wants. So in reality, the thought of saving the world might be too much of a pressure.

The best isekai is the free and unfettered isekai protagonist who only cares about adventure, happiness and glory. Adventure awaits him, he is ready for the greatest adventure of life.

The others seemed to be unsure of what to say, they entered a carriage as they headed, assumed to be a large castle. Looking out at the prehistoric and somewhat of an iron age era city. Meanwhile, Amos continued to talk about the world of Gaia.

"... in the final moments of the Hero of Sword, he defeated the Demon Lord Zagan with his Ancient Skill: Limit Break!"

Hearing Amos telltale the story of the past heroes made the group shiver with excitement and somewhat feel frightened too due to the extent of what powers those heroes held.

And there's magic in this world. Just the thought of it was enough to make everyone a little excited.

MAGIC!!!
