20 Interruption

"Sheesh... you have been pretty busy, Alvar" Cali said after she heard of everything Alvar had done so far.

"As for the weapons you made... I think you went a bit overboard with the 'normal' ones you made." She said with her lips twitching.

"What do you mean? I am a craftsman so I'm not going to make anything half-assed, which is one of the reasons I made the Cyrus persona in the first place. This means I can craft anything I want with no backlash against the real me. Besides, aren't there gods and goddesses based on forging? So shouldn't they have the ability to make the same quality weapons?" Alvar furrowed his brows.

"When people see a 'mortal' make weapons comparable to a god or goddess' work would still make quite the commotion." Cali deadpanned.

"And yes, there are gods and goddesses with those divinities, but their divinities are sealed when they descend to Genkai, as you know. So this means their ability to create weapons and armour also takes a big hit in the prosses which reduces the quality, but their knowledge about smithing isn't impacted at all." Cali stopped and looked at Alvar.

"The thing you didn't consider is the world itself. The metals and materials and the techniques you mastered in our world differ from what we have here. Plus the people in this world are limited by their falnas and levels while most complete rely on them and disregard techniques. The other factor is also magic, you can use and manipulate mana while the people of this world rely on the skills they get from leveling up to 'guides' them."

"As an example, there are Development Abilities that can only be obtained at level two. These abilities are basically abilities that only work in a specific area. Like Blacksmith, and those with the skill helps them be a better blacksmith obviously, but some people rely solely on the skill to the point where they don't try out anything else in smithing at all. Which causes them to stagnate later on and won't improve at all."

"Most adventurers in this world are arrogant simply because they are at a high level and want attention while the gods and goddesses want entertainment and strong Familia members. So if you want to sell your items and gears, make sure you at least have backup plans to make sure they can't be used against you or to stop people from breaking into your workshop." She said in a serious tone.

Alvar placed his hand on his chin in a thinking pose.

"...I understand. I overestimated the capabilities of the people in this world because of the deities that descended. You don't have to worry though, I'm not planning on selling more magic-related items at the moment." he nodded

"Good, I don't want gods knocking at your door trying to force you to join their familia." Cali nodded and let out a sigh of relief.

"You're scared I might get hurt?" Alvar chuckled

"No, I'm scared the situation might escalate and end with a few deities' dead bodies being found," Cali said with a serious expression on her face which caused Alvar's mouth to start twitching.

"And I thought you were planning on selling those magic crystals of yours."

"I am planning on selling them, but they aren't safe yet. The mana circuits are still slowly draining the stored mana and I don't want to hear stories of people going inside the dungeon and end up becoming fireworks because of the crystals." Alvar shrugged his head.

"Didn't you already fix that problem?" Cali asked confused.

"No, I fixed the issue of the spells constantly consuming magic, but the mana circuits need a different solution. I can't 'freeze' them as I did to the spell because that would ruin the flow of the circuits which would set the spell free, and to 'freeze' the circuits would also need a separate mana source. A 'on' or 'off' switch wouldn't work either since the 'flow' would be interrupted as well." Alvar stopped and put on his mask and pulled his hood over his head.

"Two people are on their way." He said while looking in their direction.

Hearing this, Cali closed her eyes and took a few deep breaths to empty her mind. She then open her eyes and said

"It's Ais and Riveria, I guess they're looking for me." she started sweating a bit.

'Riveria is going to give me an earful when we go back to the Manor...'

"I'll go back first. We can meet up again at the Hostess of Fertility later." Alvar said and stood up as he started dusting off his outfit.

"Eh? Why so suddenly?" Cali asked bewildered

"Adventurers frequently visit the Hostess of Fertility, so I'm guessing your familia does as well, right?" Alvar continued after he saw her nod

"That's where I am currently staying at. So would be able to meet there more frequently which means it would be better if they don't know that I am Cyrus.

I know they don't know who Cyrus is and I know my workshop isn't that popular yet, but since this world's weapon quality isn't that good... It's better to be safe than annoyed.

When you do visit my workshop with others then we should act like we don't know each other or at least act like acquaintances otherwise it would result in some people drawing conclusions that Cyrus and I are the same person. There is also the chance that your goddess might try to use you to try and force me into making a contract with her" Alvar stopped for a second to check how far away Cali's friends are and continued.

"I don't mind making you and your friends some gear, but I don't want to be forced to do so or to be bothered by a 'perverted goddess'" He chuckled

"That makes sense..." Cali nodded

"She is the trickster goddess so that's a good call. She wouldn't harm her familia members at all since she deeply cares for them, but she would probably annoy you a lot"

"My point exactly, I'll see you later," Alvar said and gave her a hug.

"Hm." She nodded and hugged him back. After a few seconds, they left each other's embrace and Cali watched him walk away. She couldn't help but smile. She couldn't remember much but she can still remember her time with him and she enjoyed it a lot.

Her smile completely froze when she felt a murderous gaze from behind her.

She slowly turned around and saw Riveria and Ais standing there, but she could have sworn she saw a dark figure behind her with an evil grin on its face.

"Cali~ Don't you think it is time to come back to the team?" Riveria asked in an icy tone causing Cali to shiver.

She remembered how Ais got her trauma of water... Ais called her old and this resulted in Riveria tying adamantite around her feet and throwing her in a lake in the name of 'training'.

"Hey, Riveria... I didn't do anything that should result in any punishment... So why the icy stare..?" Cali asked frightened.

At this point, Ais slowly started to walk backwards away from Riveria.

"You know the rules, Cali. When we are on an expedition we should stay together with the team until we get out of the dungeon. This rule stays until Finn says so, but you just disappeared..." Riveria's stare suddenly got sharper.

"Also... did you really think I wouldn't notice your little prank? I might have forgotten about it because you have been acting strange lately..." She started walking closer.

"I have the perfect punish- training that would help you."

'Well, shit.' Cali thought and started running for her life.

'I completely forgot about that dare!'
