Venelana was looking through a bunch of files calmly, while around her were corpses of people who seemed to be wearing lab coats...

Venelana and Grayfia had teleported near the outskirts of the territory where the facility was supposed to be located so as not to alert their enemies and the information they got was correct as they indeed found a research facility that was built in an isolated location.
They both reached the facility and used their magic to hide their presence.
Venelana couldn't sense any strong enemy signatures from inside the facility. She could only detect a Low-Ultimate Class being, which both of them would be able to take care of with ease but she still didn't let her guard down.

After entering the facility Venelana could see that it was pretty large and to finish the investigation quickly she suggested splitting up and searching, to cover more ground.
But she still warned Grayfia to be careful and to flee in case of unforeseen situations.
Venelana as an Old devil who had participated in the Great War had already witnessed and experienced her fair share of horrible things but what she saw here still deeply disturbed her.
Children of different species, whether it be Fallen angels, Devils, Yōkai, or even Humans were being experimented on. When she came inside a room she saw a bunch of people in Lab coats dissecting a small child who was barely three years old. She couldn't control herself and ended up killing all of them. But she made sure to do it in a way that would not alert anyone.
She couldn't save the child as it was too broken and was just like an empty shell. She handed the child over to her familiar.
Due to the experiments done on the child, it would not live longer than a few months and the child's mind was too broken. She would still try her best to save any unfortunate children like this.
But as expected this was not the only one, she came across similar cases and she was disgusted to the extreme, she really was disgusted to be related to that man. To think that the Great King faction would go this far.
She swore in her mind that she would destroy this facility after what she witnessed.
After all Venelana was a devil, not a monster.

After capturing and interrogating some people from the facility Venelana was able to procure some information regarding their experiments.
They were still researching the creation of super devils but they decided to improve on it from their research on Kuroka, even if she was deemed to be a failure because she was only able to reach Peak-Ultimate Class in strength, but from the improvement of her strength the research could be considered a partial success.
So that's why this facility is placed in such a remote location as they conduct far more inhumane experiments here. They decide to experiment on children of different races. If the other factions got wind of this, then the devils would be in a very difficult predicament.
She got all of this information from the file she was going through, but what she read next made her heart grow cold.
It was about one of their current ongoing projects but what was frightening was this project was labeled as a success.
'Project Irregular'
Venelana was apprehensive so she quickly went through the information, but what she found deeply horrified her.
Project Irregular is an experiment where they tried to create a perfect devil far stronger than a super devil. So they used the genes of all kinds of beings such as Angels, Devils, Fallen, Yōkai, Humans, Vampires, Succubuses, Demons, Demi-gods, and many different races and they were even able to procure DNA of extinct and long-lost races such as Fae.
As for the devil genes they decided to use Lucifer's genes and subject 'X'. And the dominant gene in the body was of some subject 'Y', the rest of the genes were spliced into it. Except for Subject 'X' and Lucifer's genes.
So in a way, this being was a clone or an offspring of 'Y', 'X', and Lucifer. She didn't know who these 'Y' and 'X' were but they should be pretty powerful for these stuck-up devils to consider using them alongside the Lucifer genes.
Venelana didn't know how they obtained Lucifer's genes because they used Lucifer's genes, not his descendants. Thus she was horrified.
There was a reason why Lucifer was the 'Devil' while all of them were just devils.

Although they say he was stronger than the previous Lucifer, it was far from it, her son was strong, and she acknowledges that fact.
But there was just something about the Original Lucifer that just made them feel sheer terror.
So seeing that they managed to create a being with his genes she couldn't help but worry. Other genes were even more surprising, angels and devils are two opposite beings and they managed to create something with both genes.
She didn't know how they managed that, as it was stated that it was a miracle, making 'Subject Irregular' a precious specimen that could be considered the future of Devil kind.
Genes of 'Subject Y' played a major role in stabilizing 'Subject Irregular's' condition during the DNA implants.
Venelana finished reading the reports, there were more, but she decided to take them back and check because she didn't have the option to take this mission leisurely anymore.
Venelana had to take this mission more seriously, if what the reports said on these files were true then this was going to be a complicated battle. A being with the amalgamation of all these abilities is nothing to scoff at. This being had High-Ultimate class reserves at its creation.
Venelana resolved in her mind, she had to get rid of this being. It was far too dangerous to be left alone. A thing created through such means would most likely be something of a perfect soldier so she didn't want anybody taking control of it or researching it. She didn't even trust her own son because he would most likely give it to Ajuka to research.
With all these chaotic thoughts whirling through her head, Venelana reached the room where this supposed ' Project Irregular ' was contained. The doors were reinforced with countless spells which were easy to disable from outside.
It didn't take long for her to gain access to the room, Venelana stepped into the room with apprehension, she was ready at a moment's notice to use her Power of Destruction.

Venelana Gremory expected to see many things when she walked into the room, but she didn't expect to see this...
The walls of the room were filled with crude drawings. She couldn't quite make out what was drawn there, but upon closer inspection, she found that it was a drawing of what seemed like a child holding the hand of an older girl with horns, but upon looking closely, she found that those seemed to be ears, not horns and there were also two tails.
There were similar drawings that were on the rest of the wall.
While Venelana was inspecting the room She suddenly felt something moving towards her from behind, she turned around quickly but was a little slow.
Something latched onto her legs and Venelana readied her magic to attack it.
Venelana looked down to see what it was but it left her speechless.

A.N: Yeah so if anybody is confused, this is an AU world. I made some changes that ain't that important, so please don't complain about canon later along the line.
1. I made Venelana the strongest female devil cuz she has everything to be one. She participated in the Great War (most likely or am I tripping anyways it doesn't matter as It's AU). She was known as the strongest woman in the Bael clan and Sirzechs wasn't strong cuz of little Zeo's genes but Vene's.
2. I made Little Zeo a trash and a pervert. Little Zeo is trash with potential, if he trained he might be stronger. So the gene problem is solved with his children cuz he has good Gremory genes.
3. Made Grayfia Vene's queen, and erased the whole bullshit canon plot of Grayfia and Sirzechs falling in love during the Great War, Which if we think of DxD as a real world is highly unlikely due to Grayfia's character.
She might marry him due to convenience cuz she was from the enemy side and Sirzechs being Satan would be a good backing. As for her falling for him during the war is highly unlikely if it wasn't an anime ( Sirzechs doesn't have plot armor nor Riz, good guys don't win ) cuz a simple smile is enough to create a Yandere in an anime world.
4. Made Sirzechs end up with Cleria Belial because I like Sirzechs, as much of a sis-con he is, the guy is a chill dude and I felt pity for Cleria and the way she ended up.

The vessel in question Is the body created through experiments. How's that for an excuse? I'm just too lazy to give a detailed explanation or write about a soul meeting a God to get wishes. You and I have read tons of fics like that so just imagine it.
With that I might have answered some doubts also please forget about the timeline in this fic, also Koneko Is 3-4 old and because of being a Yokai, she's smarter than a child her age, in this fic. Rias is 5-6
