Chapter 4 The Revelation

[Third person POV]

[Pro Bending Arena]

Early in the morning at the arena we see Korra, Mako, and Bolin training in the gym while throwing a ball to each other

Korra:"What's the big idea with making me train this early in the morning? The morning is evil." Korra complained while catching the ball and threw it at Bolin

Bolin:"We are the rookies so we get the worst time slot in the gym" Bolin explained, while catching the ball and threw it at Mako

Mako:"And you are the rookiest of us all. We gotta get you up to speed if we want to survive in the tournament. Deal with it" Mako said catching the ball from Bolin and threw it hard to Korra

Korra caught the ball and threw it with more force back to Mako "You deal with it" she said and Mako was sent to the ground

Then a man suddenly came inside the gym

Butakha: "There are my little hardworking street urchins"

He approached them and put his hand at Korra's shoulder "It is an honor to finally meet you, Avatar" he said

Korra:"And you are?" she asked

Butakha:"Butakha. I run this whole pro bending shebang"

Korra walked off while Butakha then hands Mako their winnings from the games

Butakha:"Here's your winnings from the last match"

Mako:"Thank you sir"

Butakha:"Ah..ah..ah..but not so fast. First, you owe me for the Avatars new gear, gym and equipment rentals for last month, rent on your apartment, and a personal loan for groceries"

Butakha said to Mako who take all the money back. Then Mako looks at Bolin

Bolin:"What? I'm a growing boy"

Butakha:"Oh, and one more small item of business. The Fire Ferrets need to ante up 30,000 yuan's for the Championship pot"

Bolin:"30,000 yuan's?!" Bolin said shocked at the amount of money

Butakha puts a hand on Mako's shoulder and said "Sorry kids, you have got till the end of the week to come up with the dough, or else you are out of the tournament" Then leaves. Korra came back to them

Bolin:" You wouldn't happen to have a secret Avatar bank account overflowing with gold would you?" Bolin asked Korra

Korra:" I have got nothing. I have never really needed money. I have always had people taking care of me"

Mako:"Then I would not say you had nothing"

Korra:"Sorry, I did not mean-"

Bolin:"No, it is all right, it is just....ever since we post our parents, we have been on our own" Bolin said sadly

Korra:"I'm so sorry. I did not know" she apologizes

Mako:"So anyway, how are going to come up with the money?" Mako said changing the subject

Bolin:"Ooh,ooh, I got it, I got it. I have been training Pabu to do circus tricks. Now people would pay good money to see that" Bolin said excitedly but every one had a

*are you serious* face

Mako:" Come on Bolin. We need serious ideas"

Bolin:"I was serious" he said dejectedly

Mako: Don't worry about it. I will figure something out. I always do

[Streets]

When Korra was about to return to the Air Temple she saw Iori walking around with something on his head, she quickly approached him. she was about to greet him but stopped and blushed

She saw him wearing his KoF XII clothes. A black coat that looked similar to the one of his classic attire, but with the Yasakani crest on the back, a shorter red shirt underneath with his midriff exposed, white pants, a large black belt with a gold buckle, a smaller black belt that hangs loose on the side of his hip, tan shoes with black buckles, a black choker, and a black necklace

[Korra POV]

'Dang now that's a sight you never see everyday. The way his clothes hugged his toned muscles and with that handsome face... WAIT, DID I JUST THINK HE'S HANDSOME AND HIS MUSCLES?!?!.....Calm down Korra, I just met him a few days ago, just say hi and get myself under control' Korra said in thought while blushing red

Korra:"Hey, Iori...w-what are you doing at this fine day...hehehe" she said awkwardly

Iori:"...I'm just strolling the streets. What about you?" Iori asked

Korra:"Oh! just heading back to the Air Temple from practice"

Then Korra suddenly had an idea

Korra:"Hey how about I take you to the Air Temple with me?"

Iori raised a brow. Korra soon realized what she had said and quickly explained while blushing

"I-i-it is not what it appears to be; I meant to give you a tour and learn more about you because we barely interacted" Korra explained, embarrassed

[Iori POV]

'Well, I'm not too dense to understand what is going on; when she saw me, she blushed, and it took me a second to figure out where she was looking, and when she invited me to the Air Temple, she immediately explained her reaction. 'It appears the Avatar had a thing for me', I mused, a smirk on my face

"All right I'll come with, I'm free today" I said to her

Korra:"Really! great, let's go!" she said happy with my response

– Timeskip –

We arrive at the Air Temple and Korra showed me around. 'The buildings looked similar to Chinese architecture' I said in thought

Then we encounter Tenzin's wife, Pema and their children Jinora, Ikki, and Meello

Pema:"Korra was wondering when you will be back and who is your friend?"

Oh. Pema I brought him here to give him a tour around, his name is Iori" she introduced me to them "Hope I'm not intruding" I slightly now my head, and I can tell they are intimidated of me. Pema wore a smile but an unease look, same with Meello who hid behind his mother's legs and Jinora was taken back but smiled at me, only Ikki who was not a single bit afraid of me and starts bombarding me with questions.

Ikki:"Hi there my name is Ikki. How tall are you?. Why do you have red hair. Hey are you nails sharp?.Do you like Korra?, because she seems to like you?"

When Korra heard that she immediately put a hand on Ikki's mouth to stop her from asking questions.

Korra:"Ok, let us not bother him anymore and start Airbending training" she said

Jinora:"Iori, right? wanna watch Korra train her Airbending skills at the training grounds?" she asked

I nodded and start walking to the training grounds

[Third person POV]

Jinora and Ikki started spinning the gates, then Korra gracefully moved through them at ease

Ikki:"Good, light on your feet"

Korra got out and panted while Iori watched at the sidelines

Jinora:" Korra, does Iori drives you crazy?" she suddenly asked with a grin

Ikki:"Does he drive you crazy in a bad way, or does he drive you crazy, like you like him?"

Korra was surprised at their questions and blushed when ikki asked the last one. She then launched them high at the air using Earthbending to avoid being embarrassed, while Iori approached her

"So how was that?" she asked him

"Hmmm. You did good but you could do better than that" he said bluntly making her sweatdropped

Mako arrived, then asked them about Bolin's whereabouts

Iori:"No"

Korra:"Nope, have not seen him since practice. but hey, I'll help you we can take Naga"

Mako:" Who is Naga?"

Korra:"My best friend, and a great tracker. What about you Iori you coming?"

Thinking about the pros and cons, he nodded

– Timeskip –

In the city the trio was riding Naga who were on the streets and try to help locate Bolin

Mako:"Your best friend is a polar bear dog. Somehow that makes perfect sense"

Korra:"I will take that as a compliment city boy"

The trio came to the train station with many people walking by but no sign of Bolin

Mako:"Well, this is his usual hangout" he said then approached some kids who were playing

Mako:"You guys see my brother around here today?"

Skoochy:" Perhaps"

Skoochy:"My memory's a little...foggy. Maybe you can help clear it up"

Before Mako could pay the kid, Iori pushed Mako away and not wasting time put his hand to the kids shoulder while using the other to cover his mouth. Mako and Korra surprised of his actions

Iori:"Listen here you little brat spill everything right now or else" he said with a cold tone on his voice

skoochy now scared of Iori because he can tell how serious he is and felt his clawed hand on his mouth, he peed his pants and with tears he said

"I-i have seen him about noon. H-He w-was performing some kind of Monkey-Rat circus then..."

Iori applied force on his hands and the boy cried in pain

Skoochy:"S-Shady Shin showed up and flashed some serious cash. Bo took off with him in his hot rod. The Triple Threats,The Red Monsoons, The Agni Kai's, all the Triads are muscling up for something real big. That is all please L-let me go" he said with tears falling from his face. Iori let him go then takes off with the other kids

Iori"Let's go" he said, ignoring the looks of others "A turf war is brewing and he is in the middle of it"

The three went back to Naga and started to take off

"So, where we headed?" Korra asked

Mako:"The Triple Threat Triads headquarters. Hopefully Bolin's there and nothing gone down yet"

Korra:"Triple Threat Triad? Iori took down some of those yahoos when I got into town. Why would Bolin get tangled up with-"

(Naga growls) and chased something

After chasing around, they looked up and saw Pabu

Mako:"That is Pabu!"

Woof! "No Naga. Pabu's a friend not a snack" said Korra. Then Pabu runs up to Mako

Mako:"We gotta hurry"

Once they arrived at the place all of a sudden there were no sign of thugs

Mako:"Something is not right. There are usually thugs posted out front. We better be cautious" he told the two

Iori walked forward and kicked the door

Mako:"Bolin? You in her?"

Suddenly they heard a engine rev outside at the back. They rushed froward and found a group of masked men on bikes with a truck about to leave and saw Bolin inside tied up

Mako:"Bolin!"

The masked men threw gas bombs at them and drove off

Korra:"Naga, Come"

Everyone got on Naga and began to chase after the group who kidnapped Bolin in which they were gaining on them and Mako decided to shoot Firebending but they dodge it. Korra used earthbending but failed, when they were all in the open three of the masked men stood back to take care of Korra, Mako, and Iori when one of them threw bolas towards Naga's legs and tripped, Korra and Mako falled off but Iori jumped at the last second and landed on the ground. Iori glared at the three and decided to test something

[Iori POV]

'Lets test something' I rushed up and swiped with my right hand at the first one, he ducked and used chi-blocking on my arm. I could feel my arm numbed but I could still use my flames 'it seems chi-blocking doesn't work in me that's a relief', I wielded my flame on my right hand and the three masked men were shocked. I took care of the one Infront of me and used kanyarai' knocking him out, I rushed to the second one and used

'212 Shiki Kototsuki In' leaving a broken mask,burned and disfigured face and a fractured skull. The third one tried to run. Keyword *Tried*, I caught up and used

'203 Shiki Tsuchitsubaki' then combo with '401 Shiki Shougetsu' in the process of breaking his spine, he screamed in agony until i silenced him with a kick on the face after I'm done I went back to the other and seen Mako's surprised look and Korra's excited look

Mako:"How did you bend when they chi-blocked you?" he asked

Iori"I'm built different"

Mako:"ok...couldn't you do it on a less brutal way?"

Iori:"...No"

Korra:" who were those guys?"

Mako:"chi-blockers. Amon's henchmen"

Korra:"You mean that anti-bending guy with the mask?"

Mako:"Yeah. CNt believe Bolin got himself into this mess"

"Let's get back on track, come on" Korra said

[Third person POV]

The trio spent all night searching but no sign of him

Korra:"we have been up all night. No sign of Bolin"

Mako:"We've gotta keep looking. But where?"

Korra:"(gasp) I have an idea. first day I got into town I ran into a Equalist protestor at the park it's our only lead right now"

Soon they arrived at the park and sat under a tree and Korra decided to talk to Mako

Korra:"So, why is Bolin running around with the Triple Threats anyway?" she asked

Mako:"Well, we used to do some work for them back in the day"

Korra:"What?! Are you some kind of criminal?"

"No, you don't know what your talking about. I just ran numbers for them and stuff. we were orphans out on the street I did what I had to do to survive and protect my little brother" Mako said

Korra:"I'm sorry it must have been really hard. can I ask what happened to you parents?"

Mako:"(sigh). They were mugged by a Firebender. he cut them down right Infront of me. I was eight. Bolin's the only family I have left,if anything happened to him..."

Mako:"well, I'll turn in. for now" he said and slept

Korra looked at Iori and saw him holding a small device

"Hey Iori what's that?" she asked. Iori looked at her and replied " a music player"

she's interested on the device Iori is holding "it can...play music? I thought only gramophones do that?" she said

" a friend gift this to me" he said

"can you play some music I wanna hear it" Korra said

"hmm, sure" Iori said while removing the cord of the headphone and selected a song

{Play Just the two of us}

the music captivated Korra. enjoying the sweet melody, lyrics, and beats that made her body move, but when the saxophone played, she had never heard of an instrument palyed so well that she bobbled her head to the rhythm and soon fell asleep

– Timeskip –

the three woke up and Korra got embarrassed cause she fell asleep on Iori's chest but thanked him for the music which he nodded. After they interrogated the protestor they grabbed four flyers and saw the location of where the revelation will be and disguised themselves to enter. once they enter they saw a crowed of people who are anti-benders and Mako was shocked of how many people were in there

"please welcome your hero, your savior, Amon!"

the stage moved and out came the Equalist with their leader Amon

He started monologuing of how a fire bender burned his family and his face and how the spirits spoke to him, granting him the ability to take away their bending permanently.

'Keep lying faker, soon everyone will see who you truly are' Iori glared at Amon while putting his arm around Korra

The three then made a plan that Korra will bend the steam to cover Mako to get Bolin while Iori stand by to watch her. then. Amon made a demonstration fighting the triad leader Zolt, whilst they fight the plan started Korra started to bend the steam in the pipes.

Amon's fight came to an end putting his thumb on Zolts forehead making his flames and lightning disappear.

Korra was shocked and saw other triad members taking their bending away made her hurry and finally made a cover for Mako to grab Bolin. He was successful but they encountered the Lieutenant and. shocked them to the ground and said " You benders need to understand there's no place in the world for you anymore"

the Lieutenant saw Iori heading his way, used his electric staff to hit Iori but Iori is faster and used 'Syajitsu no Odori' on his chest bringing him to the ground hurt badly with fractured ribs

Korra:" nice work Iori.(whistle) Naga!

Korra puts the brothers on Naga while Iori takes care of other members filling their body's with cauterized wounds and claw marks. then they quickly took off

E.member:" the Avatar, sir?"

Amon:"let her go. she's the perfect messenger to tell the city of my power"

E.member:" sir, our men have terrible wounds some can't lift their body including the lieutenant has 3 fractured ribs"

Amon:" must have. been the red haired man, he's a brutal one"

After dropping off the brothers to the arena Korra brought Iori to his apartment building

"hey thanks for helping us back there" she said

"don't mention it" Iori responded

"....Hey can we hangout at the Air Temple tomorrow and you know spar and teach me some martial arts?" Korra asked

"Hn. sure I'll onto that" he said with a smirk

"thanks!" Korra said happily and went home

Entering his bedroom and lay down he thought

'Amon should be aware of me. Well, whatever plans he had....I'll burn it down to ash' with a murderous glint on his eyes while it briefly change from red snake eyes to normal.
