Problems ~ 18

CHAPTER 18

I looked up at Amelia who was sat next to me on the sofa, my eyes red with tears.

"You know you couldve told me you hadn't got anywhere to go!" she whined sympathetically.

"Its not just the housing situation though, what about the car!? I'm going to get arrested for that is certain!" I dropped my head into my hands and my head whirled as I sobbed... I was a big fat baby, my thoughts uncontrollable and I was stupid.

"We can sort all these things out together! It's not like I have anything more important to be doing." She looked at me with a sad smile, searching for something in my eyes. Anything.

"You are a very gifted artist.?" I stated. Implying that she should be concentrating on that instead of me.

Amelia looked down at me with a scowl, but behind that scowl you could see she was greatfull for the compliment.

She cared more about me than her art and she wanted me to know it.

"I know I just..." I sighed " I Thought you wouldn't look at me in the same way, ya know you'd see me as some irrelevant child instead of a man." Hearing it out loud made me sound pathetic.

"hey, look, even though this is technically the first time I've talked to you, I felt like even when you were in spirit form, there was a connection between us... I know it sounds strange.." She went bright red. "but, you stopped the thief from taking my phone!" she announced as if she was proving a point.

"You are obviously a relevant man, because any other person would've just left it." she finished as she walked out of the living room and into the kitchen to make some coffee.

I thought about what she said and as I did so. It made me as giddy as a school boy. I felt a grin stretching across my face, cheek to cheek.

Amelia liked having me around and I decided that as long as I was living with her, I was going to help around more than ever before.

That day ended as quick as it started and before I knew it, it was the morning again. Amelia had work and I was going to help with anything she needed.

I woke up to the smell of crispy bacon butties on a plate next to me. "I thought that would wake you up." she giggled. I sat up and gulped down the sandwhich. It had felt like ages since I had eaten.

"I have work today... I was.. Unsure about what you wanted to do for the day?" Amelia poked her head around the door as she questioned me.

"well." I said, with my mouth stuffed full of bacon. "I was thinkin that 'cuz you let me stay for a little while that I could help you with whatever you need!" I had swallowed my food by the time I finished the sentence.

"OK!" She smiled with delight.

For now, our problems lay at bay. For now.
