Chapter 9. Hunting ( 2 )

A day later,

A boy who looked to be around 12 years of age standing infornt a wild boar with tens of bloody holes all over its body.

"Congratulations, young master, you've hunted your 6th boar successfully!" A guard with knight level cultivation praised Tirus, and soon, the other guards followed.

However, Tirus was indifferent to all this, looking at the boar.

'This is my sixth, although my right hand feels a little numb, I don't feel tired at all.'

He was sent here by his mother with several guards to hunt wild animals and gain experience.

"Young master, now we will attempt hunting animals that can climb trees. Go north" A guard said.

"Young master, we shall hide in the shadows now." The guards said in unison as they all disappeared.

'Guess I have to find one myself...' Tirus sighed as he tread forward in the north direction.

Soon, he found a three tailed monkey on the branch of a tree.

Tirus held his breath and used his family's movement technique to rush at the monkey.

Seeing the incoming enemy, the monkey barred its teeth and its nails suddenly became longer and sharper, they looked as if they could tear apart steel.

'Hmph.' Tirus scoffed at this and thrust his sword forward, aiming straight towards its heart.

The monkey immediately took a step back and started running away.

Most animals, no matter which world, had only two priorities. Survival and reproduction.

The survival was first and foremost, and so, they had all developed a 6th sense which could help them acertain the strength of their opponents in advance, this allowed them to flee before they got themselves killed by some stronger animal.

This monkey hadn't fled because it thought that his and Tirus's strengths were on par with each other, so why flee?

A fight ensued between the beast and the human child, the human child was surprisingly cruel with his attacks as each of them were aimed at the vitals of the monkey, the monkey soon had its legs attacked, thus having its movement restricted.

Now the monkey's fate was sealed. Even if survived this battle, it would be killed by other wild predators due to having its movement restricted.

Having to flee after getting severely injured was tantamount to a death sentence in the wild.

The battle reched a conclusion after the fatal blow to the monkey.

A knight who was hiding in the shadows thought, 'Such a talent! Although he still has to practise his specila techniques, every basic move of his has reached the level of perfection.'

After the monkey was hunted, Tirus went after all kinds of other animals.

The entire day passed in hunting wild animals of all kinds, this allowed Tirus to fully utilize the power of his body, giving him a euphoric feeling.

...

On their way to the city,

The uneven road had caused the carriage to became quite an uncomfortable place for taking a rest.

Tirus was resting inside the carriage with an uncomfortable expression on his face.

He got a little too excited while hunting and overexerted his body, resulting his muscles aching all over, the pain of his muscles was taken care of by the A.I. chip by controlling the pain receptors, leaving only an unbearable numbing sensation.

"Hey, drive slowly!" Tirus ordered as he regulated his breathing.

"Yes, young mas..." The driver stopped mid-way as the sounds of swords clashing could be heard outside.

"I'll take your head!" A threat came in an unfamiliar voice.

'What hell, who could they be? Bandits? Nah, no bandit gang should be daring enough to infiltrate this territory...could they be assasins?' A terrible thought came to Tirus's mind. Talented heirs of some noble families were usually the target of assasins sent by their family's enemies.

'I don't think I need to worry.' Tirus sighed in relief after the A.I. chip showed Tirus the number of dead people and their identity by scanning the entire area.

'We're winning.' He thought as he closed his eyes, still having his hand on his sword.

The guards who were with Tirus were experienced knights and one of them was even a grand knight and also considering the fact that his mother had chosen them for him, there was already very low threat to his life in the first place.

And even if he could go outside, he would only increase his guard's troubles.

Even if he did worry, there wouldn't be anything he'd be able to do if the assasins were to kill his guards.

How would he be supposed defeat an assasin who was strong enough to take on a grand knight?

The sound of battle came to an end and Tirus's guards came at the door of the carriage.

"Young master, the situation is under control."

Tirus reached his home safely, and after this incident, he had been out under heavy security by his parents.

Months passed,

Tirus kept going to his mother to talk to her about different things and even started going out once again after a while.

The year was nearing an end and Tirus was going to turn 13. Once he became 13 years old, he would have to leave for the magus academy, as for if he would ever return, that would depend on his situation.

The entire night passed like this and time for Tirus to leave for the academy came.
