1 Group Leader

Light Gun set in a classroom where breaktime was being held. He was bored out of his mind because there was nothing to do besides waiting for the teacher to restart the lecture on life and games.

He was said to be an ace at games, no matter what kind. There was only one disappointment to his gaming career. He was always number 2 when it came to top players.

Despite this small set back, he didn't believe he needed more education on how to play a game and how to be the best player. This was everyone's goal in life, to be a top game player.

Though he was number 2 in most games he played, they where all small time games. The real world class top players played the most popular game in the past, present, and maybe the future too, Invasion Wars.

All he needed was a chance to get his hands on the top played game and he would be set to aim for the top. Just as he was dozing off for better use of his time, his desk got knocked.

"Get up! I got the game you wanted from me. This is free as to show our friendship and the trust I have in your gaming skills to be a top game player." Gun's friend Dime Fist told him as he tossed over the game.

Gun checked what was in his hand and couldn't help but give an evil grin that would scare grown adults away. He was about to become a legend. To achieve this goal, the ticket was in his hands.

"Thanks, Fist! I owe you one from now on and I always treat my people fairly." Gun reassured his friend of his good intentions.

Before anyone could stop him, Gun left the classroom and headed to the simulation room in the school where games of the current era were played. In this era, there were no consoles anymore. It was a big empty room that would throw out 3D holograms and lights to give the impression one has stepped in a new world.

Once arriving, he slipped the game's data to the room connector and waited for the game to start. It took all but three seconds for everything to change and go wrong. He was suddenly in a classroom filled with unknown people and his best friend Fist.

This is when everyone heard the message throughout the world. "Welcome to Invasion Wars where the weak is prey and the strong is predators. Have fun invading and don't forget this hint, never let the prey go. Bye! Bye!" a female system voice rung out loud.

"Hey what the heck is going on here?! This is clearly not the basketball court. Who are you, people?" Shouted a young man with dark skin.

Gun looked around and saw that, except for his best friend, he didn't know anybody. The classroom had the normal 30 desks lined up in a 5 by 6 order. There was a chalkboard in the front and 30 people in the room as if to say, these 30 people are students of this classroom.

There were only 2 things strange about the classroom. There were no windows and the light was extremely bright, but not blinding bright. Then the chalkboard started writing a message for all to see.

"First Quest Mission! Elect your group leader in leading your team invasion. You have 1 day's time to decide and can not change your decision!" Following the message was another broadcast. "First elected group leader gets the bonus skill Courage. Groups who fail their elect leader quest will get the status buff Despair. Have fun invading."

This time when the voiced rung out, it didn't sound like an all knowing and all powerful being. It became clear that the voice was like when new players would get help messages from the tutorial guide as they process through the game.

The questions right now were, did the world change? Was this a new world? Was this the game world of Invasion Wars? If this was Invasion Wars, was it the same as the game Invasion Wars? So many questions yet, no answers because everyone was clueless and lost.

It didn't take long for people to grow agitated. "Do anybody know or have an idea of what is going on here?" This young man speaking was a tall youth who seemed to play sports to keep in shape. "If nobody knows, I will leave an ask someone else."

With that decision, the tall youth walked to the classroom door and opened it before walking right out. A second later he opened the door again and came back inside. "What the heck? How come, I'm still in the classroom?"

Seeing that they were trapped in the classroom, a few more people rushed to the door to give it a try. The results were all the same. Everybody that left had returned back to the classroom. Then a meek voice spoke. "Everyone, I found out thinking 'status' will show character stats like a game."

Hearing the new information, it was given a try by the people. Gun was one of the people checking out the status trick as well. With a single thought, he saw some stats in his mind.

Light Gun

Level - 1

Energy - 100%

Stamina - 100%

Power - 10

Speed - 10

Perception - 10

Resistance - 10

Seeing the status menu of his stats, it was like a switch was switched. He was all a sudden, more relaxed than before. No matter what was going on, if everything happening was similar to games, he was right at home here.

Gun moved next to Fist before asking him what did his status show as to compare if everyone had the same thing or if it was different for everybody. Fist ended up telling him that his status menu said the same thing.

Of course Gun knew better. What Gun didn't say was that he already had a skill. A special skill called Tutorial Help. Going by the description, it would give him inside know-hows and tips with a selection to make things a little easier.

Watching the people argue about the situation, Gun decided to take matters into his own hands. The first thing his group needed to do was pass the first quest mission and get the reward bonus skill Courage.

Since nobody knew if dying was a sure thing, it was best to have as many advantages as possible. Gun got to a desk and slapped it. This grabbed everybody's attention and the chatting stopped. "Everyone listen up real quick! The first thing we need to do is pass the quest mission as soon as possible."

Gun said, looking around at the stunned people. "We don't know our situation right now and if the problems in the future get worse, then it would be best to have as many advantages as we can get. The first group to pick a leader will have a skill called Courage. What if this is real?"

"This would mean that at least one group will now be stronger than our group if we don't decide now. Let's pass the quest then try to figure out the problems we are having." Gun finished his speech. Everyone was still standing in a daze.

"Why should we trust you? Who's to say you're not in on this?" A short fat youth rebuked. "No! He is right. We need to decide on a leader quickly then piece together the problems so we don't lose any advantages in the case of 'what if' sort to speak." Spoke a girl with glasses as she raised her finger to readjust them.

Gun watched as the people in the classroom settle down. He wasn't to worry about the looping effect the door had on the room because it was normal to be placed in a place where you couldn't go anywhere when passing a game tutorial at the beginning.

"Who should be the group leader?" one of the 30 people in the classroom asked. "Whoever it is, we need to make a choice fast. No telling if the other groups already made theirs." Another person commented.

As everyone debated what they should do, it was like an unspoken rule that they would push the responsibility on Gun as more and more people looked his way. they didn't say he would be the leader, but the actions they were making said it.

And as if to go along with everybody's decision, the female voice spoke to the classroom number 50. "Congratulations on being the first to pass the quest mission. The group leader has gained the title Group Leader and the bonus skill Courage. To see rewards think 'status' or 'check status' for others."

Gun could feel as his body became stronger. He could tell there had already been a change in him after the quest was completed. With a check on his status, he saw that the title Group Leader gave plus 1 to the invader's level when equipped.

Gun then did a check status on the people around him as he saw the names and level of the people, but no stats. As he looked more, he saw the classroom group looking at him more and more again. Thinking, it was only now that he realized what they were looking at.

When checking his status, they probably saw the title Group Leader, his name, and his level. He knew at this moment that if an enemy saw this, he would definitely be singled out. It was always best to destroy the leader in games after all.
