Into the Unknown: Chapter 6

"NO! WE WON'T!" Kenneth objected. Chloe stood up straight and said,

"We have come up with a fair punishment...."

"Time's up everyone." Already?! Oh god...

"We have made our decision," I replied. His eyes widen, tears slowly streamed down his face.

"Well, what is it?" The tension grew every second that passed. I took a deep breath.

"He will work for the farmer in the farm nearby contained by chains for a year," Chloe said to the whole courtroom.

"Chloe!" Kenneth yelled. I looked at my so-called father. He grinned.

"It's okay Kenneth. I deserve it... plus I shouldn't abandon you for such a worthless child." I stood there, he never loved me... I was just a burden to him. Tears welled up in my eyes. I held my arms behind my back I gripped on to my wrist, my nails dug into my skin I was trying so hard not to cry.

"I'm sorry I was such a burden. You should've let me rot in the streets." His grin never left his face. He just kneeled there and chuckled.

"Go. To. Hell." I said as I turned my back on him. I walked towards the king. As I drew closer I noticed the man that helped us at the mansion was standing beside him.

"Hello... sorry for being rude..." I brought my hand forward to shake his hand.

Drip. Drip. Drip.

Blood dripped down my arm. I pulled my hand back.

"Show me your arm. Why is it bleeding?" I brought my hand forward. My nails had dug into my skin.

"Um, My nails dug into my skin..." The whole courtroom was silent not a single person dared to make a peep.

"Give me the first aid kit or the doctor!" While they bandaged my arm, my so-called father, John, smiled.

"You're weak and pathetic like your mother and sister. You will never find them." He took them... he kidnapped them...

"Where are they?! Tell me!" He didn't tell me. He just smiled as the guards took him away. I couldn't trust anyone, Could I? My arm hurt but it was nothing compared to the pain in my heart.

"Hey, you alright?" Chloe asked. She came closer to me but still kept a distance.

"No... I'm not alright... YOU RUINED MY LIFE. WHY DID YOU EVEN BOTHER KIDNAPPING ME?!" I was enraged. They captured me and acted like it was nothing. Their happy cheery faces fell.

"Lauren, I'm so sorry. I just-" I snapped.

"NO! JUST STOP TALKING! WE'RE LEAVING THANK YOU VERY MUCH! ANNA AND KENNETH LET'S GO!"
