1 -Chapter One

Scribbling could be heard on a medium-sized bed in the bedroom. There, lies a teenager appearing to be finishing his homework. "It's over with, yay! I'm free for me time". The boy sighs, putting the side of his head down on his arm in fatigue. "What? Don't look at me like that, there's only one page not done I'll do it later" he tries to say convincingly to one of his judgmental plushies.

A notebook was being stuffed in a book bag before that itself gets thrown across the room.

The youngster got off his bed to take a seat in front of his desktop computer. With nothing much going on in mind, he's feels glad that he could follow the rules today as well.

The computer set up was beside the wall near the door in the bedroom that's on his left. As for the bed, it was against a wall to his right, made neatly and filled with a few plushies. The window was far behind him, and currently closed not allowing much sunlight to enter the room.

The teenager hurriedly put on a headset over his newly bleached light blonde hair. As his sea-green eyes with dark green rims reflected him on the computer screen, similar to a foggy mirror still visible in a shady room.

"Well.. actually it's me time, and friends" he mumbles to himself, while waiting for his call to be answered. ["Magnus! Took you long enough, we were about to start the raid without you"]. A voice like sweet mauve raisins says out loud from the computer screen.

"I'm sorry Jimmy, the worksheet today was more boring than I expected, and I kept spacing out I guess". Magnus answered his friend.

His playmate dropped the matter for the moment after hearing him apologize for the smallest thing like he usually does. They were now vastly immersed in the (MMORPG) game.

After a while of very much necessary intense focus, the boy heard a knock from the door that interrupted him. "Rebecca, can you please tell Jimmy that I said goodbye?.. Ok, thank you!" Magnus quickly says, before getting up, and opening the door.

"How come you're not ready yet?!" A short woman with blue and green eyes blurts out. She had a simple dress shirt on with suit pants.

"I was supposed to get ready?.." he replied nervously, "for what momma?"

The woman sighs in disappointment. "We have an important visitor tonight, important things to talk about, and they're almost here...so go look decent" the mother ordered.

Magnus stares back at the now-closed door for a couple of seconds, before he quickly goes to get ready. When the young man was around done, he looked at himself in the mirror. As many people told him, he had a babyface with a deep voice that didn't suit him. He wishes his voice could be cute, like his friend Jimmy. Magus glanced at the mirror once more before heading out of his bedroom.

He reached downstairs, and a hit of a delicious home-cooked aroma could be found. It was too much for two people, so he wondered who would be coming over this evening. "Black tight jeans with a long-sleeved shirt is what you call decent?... better than usual" the mother shakes her head.

Magnus ignored the comment, as he hears a ring chiming from the door making his heart start beating faster. His mother gets up to answer the door.

Magnus couldn't assume who the visitor was, but it seemed to be male for sure. The guest towered over his mother and looked taller than him as well.

As his mother comes back with the guest, he finally got a closer look. The male guest had reddish-brown eyes staring back at him as they made eye contact. He was about 6'1, improbable than the teen, wearing a soft simple-looking sweater. "Hello, nice to meet you! I've heard a lot about you Magnus. My name's Nolen Ray Miller". The stranger stretches out his had.

The son was a little intimidated at first till the man smiled, heart-melting dimples were seen. 'Whoa... hopefully he's not a relative'. Thinks the boy, looking down with a blush. Mesmerized by the low friendly voice that greeted him.

"My name is Magnus Axelsson," he responds, finally looking back up. He winced at his foolery when he realized that the man in front of him already knew his name.

Mr. Miller took a seat across the boy politely.

The mother smiled a little bit. "Now that you've introduced yourselves, dive on in". The boys didn't hesitate on her words, a scrumptious replica of her parent's traditional Sweden cooking was a perfect way to impress their guest.

After a moment of soft eating noises, Magnus found himself dumbfounded by all of this, his mother didn't tell him who this random company was, or why he was a sudden visiter. He started drinking his beverage while processing everything.

Mr. Miller had talked about how he's been in this town for a while. He was 27 years old, 10 years older than the son of Sanna Axelsson.

Magnus had noticed that Mr. Miller and his mother kept glancing at each other as if trying to be subtle. The blond didn't question it. "So.. Magnus, your mother told me that your sisters moved out recently", he started saying. "Yeah, they're way older than me, and they wanted to move out... so now it's just me and mom", Magnus responds plainly.

Sanna sighs in frustration, then puts her utensils down forcefully.

"Sweetie... Ray will be living with us from now on". choking on some vegetables he was eating was almost inevitable for the boy at the news, thinking he must have heard wrong. "He is now a part of the family... As my new husband.. and your stepfather". The woman finishes her words, going back to eating casually.

Magnus gulped some water down aggressively. "What in the broccoli?" He was pretty confused, like, really confused... Extremely confused! ok, you guys get the point-
