Chapter 19- Training

Sachiko went back to her place in high spirits. As soon as she was back in her room, she sat down in a lotus position.

"Okay, I will start meditating." She muttered as she recalled what she had learnt.

She closed her eyes and concentrated when she heard a knock on the door.

Sachiko was almost shaken out of her concentrated state but she did not pay that any mind in the end. She was sure it was just Killua and Gon. She continued to focus on her meditation. It was the hardest thing she had ever done, she had to admit.

After a few hours had passed, Sachiko felt like she couldn't concentrate anymore.

"This is definitely not easy. Nen users must really work hard, huh?" Sachiko muttered. She had barely started, yet she could feel how difficult this could be. Opening nen nodes take time, unless they were forcibly opened by an experienced teacher which Sachiko didn't have.

She couldn't ask Wing for help because she suspected that no one in this world knows she can't use nen yet. It was just that every nen user she had met so far considered her to be a nen user as well. It didn't make sense to her to tell those nen users that she used something else other than nen.

Sachiko knew learning nen by herself couldn't be easy. But, she had limited options here. Part of her also wanted to see what she could achieve herself.

"Okay, I will take it step by step. First, I will take a break and then I will continue. I need to focus. Yeah," Sachiko convinced herself to relax for a while.

She then went downstairs and checked on Gon and Killua. When she found out that they were still training, she nodded in satisfaction.

"To be young and enthusiastic about training..." She sighed. She felt so old even though she was only nineteen.

"I'm too young to feel this old..."

So, why was she?

"So, you are saying we have to eat this." Killua said. "Are you sure you didn't cook this?"

"No, I didn't! I bought it from a restaurant , I already told you!" Sachiko defended, "And why would you even look scared to eat my cooking? Aren't you kinda immune to poison ?"

"It's still fine if it's poison." Killua replied.

"Are you saying my cooking is worse than poison?! That's it, Killua!" Sachiko appeared in front of him and gave him a bonk.

"It hurts!" Killua yelled.

"Good!" Sachiko yelled back.

"Umm...can..we eat now?" Gon asked.

"..."

"Okay, I bought it from a steak restaurant because you guys need to eat more protein and fiber. But, I find it very heartbreaking to hear you hate my cooking, Killua~" Sachiko fake cried.

"You crying now?" Killua asked.

"Yess!"

"Good, shed more tears." Killua teased.

"Do you want another bonk?" Sachiko asked him.

"No, I think I'm good."

"Then, eat your food." She said.

"Yeah, yeah." Killua replied.

"I don't really get why you're fighting but this looks delicious. " Gon said.

"Gon is the sweetest." Sachiko said with a smile. "Now eat your veggies too, Killua."

"I know," Killua replied.

"I am still glad you didn't decide to cook for us." He continued.

"What's that supposed to mean again? Stop this, okay? I'm not even that bad at cooking." Sachiko pouted.

Killua looked at her with an "Are you serious ?" look again and this time, even Gon had to agree, "To be honest, it is not really the best cooking.."

In Gon's dictionary, this was equivalent to terrible. Sachiko fake cried and picked up the plates.

"That's it!!! Stop eating the food I paid for!"

"You mad?" Killua stuck out his tongue.

Gon tried to take his plate back.

It was a chaos.

Sachiko quietly meditated when she wasn't monitoring Killua and Gon's training. She also practiced her Shroud and Rhythm Echo when she became bored from meditation. She had yet to notice any difference in her nen nodes but she knew she had to be patient. After three days had passed, Sachiko decided it was time to go to Jujutsu Kaisen world. This time, she could stay there for three days because of the system upgrade.

Sachiko opened her eyes to see the hotel room she was in.

"Now that I'm in Jujutsu Kaisen, I should go exorcise some curses." She muttered.

This time, she headed to a high school. As usual, she exorcised the curses she saw.

There were definitely more curses than in a middle school but in her opinion, that was to be expected. After all, children are supposed to be more pure and carefree. It made sense that as they grew up, they would realize the cruelty of the real world and give birth to more negative emotions which in turn give birth to stronger curses.

In three hours, she had already exorcised thirty Grade-4 curses, twenty five Grade-3 curses, nine Grade-2 curses and two Grade-1 curses, earning a total of 10500 points. It wasn't easy and she almost ran out of cursed energy. She had to think quickly and upgrade her cursed energy reserves. Fortunately, it only happened after she got about 2000 points so she had enough points to buy the upgrade. She still couldn't believe she got carried away and almost forgot an important matter like this. She still couldn't use nen so cursed energy was all her strength and she should have made sure that she wouldn't run out of cursed energy in the midst of a battle.

Sachiko could only sigh and be grateful that she didn't end up learning the hard way.

Having cleared the school, she sat down on the rooftop, her legs dangling from there and checked her stats window.

"Hm, seems like I need more work in managing time to train. I guess I will choose a cursed technique and a skill to train first. Training all at the same time makes me unable to focus and it's like I'm not making progress."

Sachiko thought carefully for a few minutes. Then, she remembered something.

'System , can I use my points to upgrade my skills and cursed technique?'

[You can use cursed points to upgrade cursed techniques and you can use hunter points to upgrade skills and hunter-related abilities.]

'Sweet! How many points do I need to upgrade time manipulation eye?'

[Upgrading Time manipulation eye mastery to Competent level will cost 100,000 cursed points.]

'Are you sure it's 100,000 points?! Like, we're talking about 100,000?!'

[Positive.]

'Ahhhh....'

Sachiko whined. It was so expensive.

'Then, how about Nullify and Painkiller?'

[Upgrading Nullify to Advanced Beginner will cost 7,000 points. Upgrading Pain Killer to Advanced Beginner will cost 1,000 points.]

Sachiko wanted to cry. Why were they this expensive?

'Okay, what about cursed energy manipulation technique?'

[Upgrading cursed energy manipulation technique to Proficient will cost 700,000 points.]

'Are you screwing with me, system ?'

[Of course not.]

'Then, how is this so expensive?'

[System ranks different cursed techniques based on their potential and usefulness. The higher the rank, the more points it will cost to upgrade the mastery. The higher level also means you have to spend more points.]

'I see. Still the points...they are so out of reach.' Sachiko shook her head with a sigh.

She understood what system meant. Time manipulation is most likely more advanced than cursed energy manipulation and nullify. That was why it cost more cursed points just to upgrade mastery by one level. But, she didn't have 10,000 points, let alone 50,000.

"Seems like I can only depend on myself for now." Sachiko muttered. "Although that might not be a bad thing."

She was starting to think she should not rely on system for everything. When she decided to open nen nodes by herself, she felt excited. She realized later that the thought of striving for something with her own strength made her feel that way.

After thinking like that, Sachiko felt better. She didn't check how many points she needed to upgrade other skills by using hunter points. She didn't have enough hunter points so she thought it was pointless. She decided to focus on her training. After exorcising more curses, that is.

Sachiko got down from the rooftop and headed to another high school. Although the decrease in the number of curses in a certain area might alarm Jujutsu sorcerers, Sachiko believed that exorcising curses was the only way to get cursed points and ger stronger. She also believed that as long as she doesn't get caught, she will be free to do as she pleases.

"It's such a shame I still can't hide my cursed energy residuals. As long as I can't hide them, it's no use even if I use disguise skill. They can just tell I am the same person who left the residuals in schools no matter how I use disguise." Sachiko sighed. She had thought of disguising herself and setting up a whole persona but then she realized Jujutsu sorcerers could tell if she was the same person just by seeing her cursed energy residuals.

It wasn't impossible to hide such residuals, it was just that she had not spent enough time in this world and yet to learn how to do that herself. Once again , Sachiko reminded herself to practice that along with her other skills.

"Seems like I just have to avoid interaction with anyone for now. And I really have to use Shroud if someone were to find me." She muttered.

After exorcising some more curses in another high school and getting about 6000 cursed points, Sachiko decided to go back to her hotel room.

Then, she started training her Time Manipulation and Nullify in peace.

As the name suggests, Nullify cursed technique can cancel out every cursed technique. Needless to say, she had to reach a high level of mastery to actually nullify advanced cursed techniques. Sachiko, however, still had not figured out if she could use Nullify to cancel out other people's nen abilities in Hunter x Hunter world.

'I guess I'll find out later.'

Sachiko thought as she practiced the cursed techniques over and over again until her cursed energy ran out. Only then, she fell onto the bed and had a sound sleep.

Unbeknownst to her, her actions had caught Jujutsu High's attention. The residuals she left at the schools, the residuals when Geto Suguru killed a civilian, both were in Hiroshima. Now, Jujutsu sorcerers have to think of a possibility that both had a connection.

A man with black blindfold and silver hair sat on his train seat, thinking back to his student days when he and his friend Suguru were the strongest together.

"Just what are you planning now, Suguru?"

He muttered to himself, his memories played back to the day where they went separate ways.
