Chapter 17- System Upgrade
Later that day, Sachiko sat at the internet cafe, browsing the websites so that she could find a cool place to visit.
"This is all too boring..." She sighed. "Are you sure you two don't know any places to visit?" She asked Gon and Killua who were sitting beside her.
Gon shook his head, "Actually when I left Whale Island for hunter's exam, it was my first time going out of the island."
"I don't know where you go for a vacation. Training, I know but vacation, that sounds unfamiliar to me." Killua said.
"Now, you have to change that. You should have fun when you have the opportunity to do so. After all, no one knows what future will bring." Sachiko said. "Oh, this says a three-days cruise in the ocean. Seems fun, right?" She pointed to an article.
Gon and Killua looked at the screen and read the article she was pointing to, "But it also warns there might be some pirates in the ocean."
"Wait, this is actually a bounty hunt!" Gon exclaimed.
"Now you say so, it is a bounty hunt for the pirates." Killua muttered.
"Sounds like a perfect vacation with a little bit of fun!" Sachiko said. "Think like this, we get to go on a cruise for free. We also get to beat up those pirates and get money! Isn't this perfect?"
"I'm pretty sure we are supposed to kill them." Killua corrected.
"Then, let's kill them. Throw it into the ocean or whatever." She replied.
"Alright, I'm in." Killua said.
"I don't know if I want to kill them but I want to come with you guys." Gon said after a while.
"Okay, that settles it. I'm gonna register all of us!" Sachiko was excited for her vacation.

"Let's see, we have to get onto this ship? I guess?" Sachiko said.
Now, they were at the port, about to get onto the ship to begin their first bounty hunt.
"Let's go!" Gon was excited as usual, practically jumping onto the ship while Sachiko and Killua got onto the boat in style. They were very amused by Gon's enthusiasm.
As soon as they stepped onto the deck, they got several unwelcoming stares by the people who got there earlier. Most of them were in their forties, some looked older than that. The same thing they all had in common was the visible scars either on their faces or on their bodies.
Seeing a girl with only one eye and two kids getting onto the ship for bounty hunt, they looked at them in disdain and pity. Like they didn't know what they were doing.
"Hey, look kids, this is not a place for you. And you too, a girl like you won't stand a chance." A man said with a sneer.
"Killua, you think we got the difficulty level all wrong?" Sachiko was annoyed so she prompted
Killua nodded, "Yeah, this is gonna so easy that it will be boring."
"What should we do? Should we leave?"
"Then, it is going to be more troublesome to find another one." Killua replied.
"That's true," Sachiko sighed, "We should have taken a look at the difficulty level. Now, this is gonna be boring. God, these are three days of my life that I'm never gonna get back."
At this point, the self-proclaimed veterans could not stand it anymore.
"Don't show disrespect for us, veterans, brat!"
"That's right, you think this is easy? I will tell you we've been doing this for at least twenty years. We've got more experience than you while you might not even have crawled out of your mother's womb by the time we started hunting."
"Is that so? Then, you will have no problem dealing with these pirates." Killua said.
"Because we don't want to bother with something as boring as this." Sachiko finished the sentence before giving a high-five to Killua.

Sachiko was standing on the deck, gazing at the ocean. That was when she heard the system notification.

There were a bunch of new features like system inventory and system store. She had been expecting system store so she wasn't surprised by this but system inventory came as a surprise.
'System, does this mean I can store things in inventory?'

'I see.'
Sachiko then decided to check the system stores. As soon as she opened the store function, she saw that there were two categories, hunter and jujutsu kaisen.

Sachiko considered for a moment. She only had 150 hunter points which meant she could only go for one of the enhanced senses.
"Alright, let's go for eyesight first."
'System, I will buy enhanced eyesight.'

Sachiko felt changes in her eyes. Everything looked more clear and she could definitely see into more distance.
"Alright, let's check out Jujutsu Kaisen category."

'Should I wait until I get 10,000 points or should I buy pain killer now?'
Sachiko had to spend more time thinking. In the end, she decided to buy pain killer first.
"Let's just think of this as an investment. I can just get more points later." She said to herself before buying it.

The next two days were pretty much uneventful. They still had not ran into the pirates yet. Sachiko mainly ate, slept and walked around like she had nothing else to do. She still trained but nearly not as much as when she was during the exam. She was supposed to be on a vacation, she told herself.
Later that night, they finally had an encounter with the pirates. They were pretty weak compared to the applicants they met during the hunter's exam. So, they had no problem taking them out in the end when they saw those veterans couldn't finish their job.
"Alright, now that the job is done, we should be back tomorrow." Sachiko said before she leaned back to the wall lazily.
First bounty hunt finished just like that.
Or that was what they thought.
A strange monster appeared out of the water and dragged a man from the deck.
"What the hell is that?!"
The men started shouting. It was a fish-bird hybrid monster with scales all over the body. Crunching noises were produced as it chewed on the man's flesh and bones.
"Sachiko...what is that?"
Gon asked.
Killua also seemed to share the sentiment.
"I don't know. But we have to kill it."
Killua appeared on its body before using claw to penetrate the skin of the monster. Green liquid gushed out from the opening but Killua had to step back quickly as it was angered.
Gon charged towards it but he was hit with a harsh strike of its wings.
"Gon!"
Gon shakily stood and charged towards it again to try to punch it, despite his already bleeding head.
"Okay, Gon. You can stop now." Sachiko had to tell him as he repeated the cycle.
"I have to kill it. I just have to find a way."
Sachiko walked towards Gon and then used her new cursed technique, Pain Killer, on him.
"Huh? Sachiko, my head doesn't hurt anymore."
"It's because I stopped it from worsening and reduced the pain." She replied to him.
"Then, I can go and fight it again." Gon said.
"No, I got this one." She said with a sigh before appearing in front of the monster and took out the scythe. The special grade scythe was a lot more practical than she thought, it had sharp ends on the outside and insides of the blade. There was also a straight blade at the back of the curved end for stabbing purposes. The handle itself was made of metal but she could feel that every inch of it was infused by cursed energy to strengthen it.
She then used it to hook onto the monster's head before pulling it into her direction. The sharp blade cut through its skin and in a swift move, the head was completely cut off.

'Great, buy enhanced sense: hearing.' Sachiko said to the system.
[Enhanced sense : Super Hearing is bought. Remaining Points : 50 points.]
"Sachiko, you did it. You killed the monster!" Gon said, amazed.
"Yep, I did."
"That weapon you pulled out was cool. Is that a nen ability?" Killua asked.
"Well, kind of." Sachiko replied. 'I wonder if I will be able to use nen.'
Since this is a Jujutsu Kaisen system, she probably can't, right ? But then why would she also have hunter points?
'System, will I be able to use nen?'
[It is not impossible for host to open nen nodes but system's current level is not high enough to exchange for this.]
'I see, will I be able to still unlock it by myself?'
[It is not impossible.]
'It's good enough for me.' She nodded. Now that she had learnt that she had the potential to use nen, she wanted to open her nodes as soon as possible.
'The idea of getting something by myself without the help of system also excites me.' She thought.
