5 Chapter 5: Fishing at the village river
When they arrive at the river, Bai Yi Yang was amazed with the huge scale. It is quite big and it look deep much more than she expected. If she really fell in this, the swimming skill is really needed. And with this big river, there is high chance that she will get large fish with her cheat.
"This is larger and deeper than I expected. No wonder someone is able to catch big fish."
Bai Yi Yang comment.
"I already told you Yang jiejie. After this I will show you my fishing skills, even Xiao Mo learn it from me."
Shitou brag and the other boys look at him as if admiring. Little Shitou is indeed better than all of the three combine, the fishing theory he taught Bai Yi Yang on the way is all correct.
"Okay ah. Then lets find a spot and start fishing." Bai Yi Yang don't want to waste anymore time. After this she still need to look at their vegetables garden at home. She has so much to do to improve her and her siblings life.
Oh, wow. Now she can already get used to calling them her siblings.
Bai Yi Fang obediently sat with Bai Yi Ling at a spot a bit further from the edge of the river. She and Bai Yi Ling cannot swim, so their eldest sister told them to not stay close to the edge no matter what.
Bai Yi Fang are curious but under Bai Yi Ling piercing gaze, she obediently wait at the side too, playing with the small rocks.
A few minutes passed by quietly when suddenly Bai Yi Yang exclaimed when she feel a tug from fishing line. It really works, she thought inside.
The boys next to her also paid their attention on her fishing line.
Using the instant knowledge about fishing that she obtained, she quickly reel in and to their amazement, a fish at an adult palm size was pulled onto the land.
"Quick, fill the pail with water."
Little Shitou didn't panic and told the boy nearest to the pail what to do.
With a slightly awkward series of action, Bai Yi Yang successfully unhooked the fish and put it inside the pail that is halfway filled with water from the river.

"Yang jiejie is so amazing. How long has it been since we catch fish this big?"
The boy who fetch the water said. He crouch down with the other to look at the fish swimming in the pail.
The most excited one is Bai Yi Fang. Her eyes is wide as she watch the big fish, already imagining eating grilled fish.
Little Shitou is proud with his quick action, so he kindly told Bai Yi Fang what type of fish it is and how delicious it is when baked with fire.
After a short session of celebration, the five people return to their spot to fish. They are more excited than ever since now they see hope.
Bai Yi Ling stay with Bai Yi Fang near the pail, little Shitou has put it a bit far from the edge so that Bai Yi Fang can play with it to her heart content without them worrying about her.
Not long after, Bai Yi Yang caught another fish of a similar size, then after that another fish a bit larger than the previous one.
30 minutes has passed and Bai Yi Yang already caught 7 fish of various size, she even caught an eel longer than her forearm.
Bai Yi Fang cheer nonstop, if not because of Bai Yi Ling, she would have sat next to his older sister. Bai Yi Ling is more shocked than anyone, she doesn't have much hope at the beginning but now she really admire her sister skill and luck.
"Aahh..why won't the fish bite my bait.."
Bai Yi Mo on Bai Yi Yang left side grumble.
His sister already caught 7 big fish but how come they got none?
"Be patient. My father said only certain people is blessed with luck of fishing."
Little Shitou has an open mind, his luck if quite good compared to his peers and even his father, but even him only has caught two small fish, his luck really cannot be compared to Bai Yi Yang.
"Really? Then Yang jiejie, can you share your luck with me? I heard if we bumps the fishing pole with each other, then we can share our luck in fishing." The water-fetching boy said with bright eyes.
"Me too, me too.." Bai Yi Mo and the other boy said.
Bai Yi Yang laugh as she listen to the boys conversation.
'Is there really such thing as sharing luck in fishing?' She thought.

Bai Yi Yang eyes widened. There really is such thing?
"Alright, lets bump our fishing pole." She agree with the boys suggestion and she cooperatively touch each of their fishing pole with theirs.
There actually no need to bump or whatsoever, as long as she agree to share her luck in fishing, then these boys can also reap the same benefit, she just wanted to make it more believable.
After the little ceremony, they boys once again concentrate with fishing.
As if their ceremony really works, Bai Yi Mo fishing line shook and he quickly tug on it. Then while people are watching him, the water-fetching boy line is also tugged. Then followed by the other boy at the other end, the children called him Xiao Bao.
Immediately the situation become chaotic, the three people is busy reeling in the fish and little Shitou quickly took their empty pail to be filled with water.
Even Bai Yi Ling also need to take action and help, only Bai Yi Fang is left guarding her sister pail that is still free and jumping up and down cheering.
After the situation subside, only then the three boys can admire the fish they caught. It was their first time catching such big fish.
Xiao Bao even caught an eel. How lucky he is.
Little Shitou was shocked silly. Their little ridiculous ceremony really works? Should he bump his fishing pole with Yang jiejie too?
"Shitou, quickly bump your fishing pole with Yang jiejie."
Bai Yi Mo said.
Little Shitou scratch his head, thinking.
"Come and sit here, I will do a little ceremony with you too."
Bai Yi Yang said with a kind smile.
She can see that Little Shitou is a relevant kids, if not because of the system, she also feel that sharing luck in fishing is nonsense, but now her view has totally changed.

He look at Bai Yi Yang in reverie. She is the goddess of luck and fishing.

Bai Yi Fang exclaimed. She goes back and forth between the 5 pails and counted the fish in each pail.
"Jiejie has 7 fish, Shitou gege has 3 fish, the other gege has 1 fish. The winner is Jiejie!" She said loudly.
They all laugh at Bai Yi Fang adorable announcements.
About 50 meters from their fishing spot, a few middle age man that came to the river to wash their face from the field heard the commotion.
They were curious because the children are laughing happily, they can guess that the children must have gotten something. Since they are a bit free, they walk over.
Head Village Li is amongst the people there.
"What good thing have you caught that you all are laughing like this?"
He asked as he peek at the first pail owned by Xiao Bao.
"Oh, what a fine eel. Xiao Bao, sell this to your eldest uncle alright?" Head Village Li said to Xiao Bao. This Xiao Bao is a child of the Li family, the Head Village Li third younger brother.
The other uncles also look over and saw the fat eel in the bucket, all gave a compliment to Xiao Bao.
"Eldest uncle, why don't you go buy Yang jiejie eel, this eel I am going to give to grandpa."
Xiao Bao reject his eldest uncle.
"Oh, Yi Yang also caught eel?" The Head Village said.
As if making inspection, he and the uncles look at each of their pail, nodding their head one by one as they see that all of their pail has something in it.
When they arrive at the largest pail that is guarded by Bai Yi Fang, they exclaimed in shock, then look at Bai Yi Yang who is sitting calmly on her spot.
"This is caught by Yi Yang?"
An uncle from the Yu family who knows a little bit about fishing looks to be in disbelief.
"Yes. My oldest sister caught all of these."
Bai Yi Fang said proudly.
"How long have you been fishing here?"
The same uncle ask again, the children call him Uncle Yu.
"A little bit over 30 minutes." Bai Yi Ling answer this time.
"Truly excellent!" Uncle Yu praise.
The fish in Bai Yi Yang pail is just another level, the fish are big and plump, the eel is also bigger than what Xiao Bao caught.
What more, there are total of 7 fishes in it.
"Yang jiejie caught another one." Xiao Bao exclaimed, attracting the uncle's attention.
This time Bai Yi Yang seems to be struggling, she reel and pull a few times and sweat start to form on her forehead.
The tugging force is much more strong this time, she is sure that it is a big one.
The boys was in suspense and so does the group of uncles, especially Uncle Yu who wanted to step forward but don't want to pointed out by his group to be trying to compete with children.
"Why are you just looking, help Yang jiejie!"
Little Shitou said to the dumbfounded boys.
They quickly took the net and some help to hold onto fishing pole to pull together.
After a quick battle, the fish seems to be tired and only then Bai Yi Yang can reel it smoothly.
When the fish came out of the water, the people hold their breath.

When the fish is finally put inside the pail, they carefully look at it.

The fish is mainly white in colour, has big scales with whitish and light pink colour, just like a pearl, the length is a bit long and its body is quite thick.
They look at the small Bai Yi Yang in amazement, before the boys step in to help her pull up the fish, Bai Yi Yang had been fighting with the strong tug from the fish, the match was win by Bai Yi Yang, the fish was exhausted in the end which makes it easier for it to be pulled up.
"I have seen this kind of fish sold for 3500 per kilo in a restaurant. Yi Yang yatou, you hit a jackpot today." Uncle Yu with fishing experience comment.
He cannot help but look at Bai Yi Yang a few more times, a hidden talent in fishing, he thought inside.
The Bai Yi Yang that they knew is a shy and timid girl. They never seen her come new this river since the Bai siblings moved here, and now she caught an even more amazing fish than the old man Wang years ago.
"That expensive?!" Head Village Li comment, he look at Uncle Yu, with a slight doubt in his voice.
"That was at a really big restaurant. In town, it can be sell for at least 3000 yuan per kilo. This fish is at least 10 kilo, if not more." The uncle add.
"This is really amazing. Yi Yang, you stand there with the fish, uncle will take pictures and send it to some friends, let see if anyone want to buy it for a high price." The fishing expert uncle said as he took out his phone from his pocket.
He owns the most basic smartphone, just like the one she saw Bai Yi Chen is using at home this afternoon.
"No need bah. Let the boys take picture with it."
Bai Yi Yang feels a bit shy. She have seen a lot of picture with fish in social media, she don't want to become like those old uncles and aunts.
"Good! Good!"
The boys cheer and little Shitou, the strongest amongst them lifted the fish with difficulty to let the uncle take picture of them. The other boys also help carry the head or tail.
The uncle quickly post it in his friend circle with a big smile on his face.
While waiting, the boys continue to fish while Bai Yi Yang stopped to rest and talk with the uncles who is waiting for respond from the fishing expert uncle friends.
"Its crazy, they are all bidding in the group, the highest bid now is 3200 yuan."
Uncle Yu laugh as he watch his chat group, he is giving a live update to Bai Yi Yang and the other uncles.
"Then this fish is really a rare one, Yi Yang really has a good luck for fishing."

Bai Yi Yang humbly said then she start asking things here and there. She really have not much information about this village, maybe she can find something else to do to make money other than fishing.
Seems like this is a farming village, they plant mainly paddy, and a bunch are also working in town, like Bai Yi Chen.
They didn't commercially plant paddy, it was for their own to eat, so the main income source are from working in town.
Mostly it was the elderly and women that went to field while the men go to town to work. There are also some who work far away and leave their wife and children in the village.
