25 Chapter 25: The twin bonding time

By the time the clock reach 11.00 am. The siblings finally finished cleaning, all are exhausted from the cleaning the whole morning.

"Yang Yang, are we cleaning the wooden wall too?" Bai Yi Chen was referring to the wooden exterior of their courtyard house.

"Nope, not today. We can do it later." Bai Yi Yang answer. Today is already a hard job, they can do this next time. What more, she also need to paint it back with wood coating after cleaning the wood.

Bai Yi Yang ask the young one to bath and send their clothes to the bath room, it's not polite to let the children run around with towels because there are other people in their house.

Then she went to the farm to take some big pepper and stir fry them. Other than that, she is also going to pan fried the dried fish that they have, they only have two dried fish left, should she go fishing again? But eating fish every day will also quite boring, food are supposedly to be enjoyable ah.

Lastly she cook simple rice with ham. She took her time cooking the dish since they are not in rush or anything. She probably also need to meet with the person who will do their countertop this evening, so she didn't plan to go anywhere today. Maybe she will just look around at their vegetables farm, and loosen up the land again. Then, they maybe able to start planting seeds today.

When Bai Yi Yang start to cook, it was almost 11.40 am, she have been teaching Bai Yi Ling using her phone, they even set up her social media account at the dinner table, their only decent sitting place. Actually she doesn't want to expose her siblings to social media this early, but judging from Bai Yi Ling personality, should be no problem. She trust Xiao Ling character.

The two children are also sitting next to each other, what were they doing? Well, they are watching songs and cartoons using Bai Yi Yang smartphone. Bai Yi Yang has set it up on the dinner table and the two kids are intently watching, it was something that quite novel for them. They giggled and sometimes imitate the voice of the characters, not minding about the outside world.

They were quite obedient, they just wait for the next videos to come out since Bai Yi Yang told them not to touch it and just watch. So just like that, Bai Yi Yang finished cooking without disturbance. Even Bai Yi Ling is focused on her phones now. She is trying to figure out how the social media platform works.

'Right, system, is my Farming skills has been upgraded?' Bai Yi Yang asked. Since she planned to start planting, then she should upgrade her skills so that her plants can grow into extraordinary version of that vegetables amongst the one usually found outside.

'Thanks.' Bai Yi Yang look at the time and told her siblings to stop playing and to call Bai Yi Chen to eat while went to scoop out the fragrant ham with rice.

After cleaning just now, Bai Yi Chen has went to help the workers, they have finished removing the old roof tiles and now neatly arranging the new tiles on the Main house. Since Bai Yi Chen has joined them, they become more careful in doing their works, even the customer has joined them, how can they slack off?

What more, they are paid by m2 so if they finished early, then they can take up new job soon too.

So by 12.30 pm when they decided to rest and have their lunch, they have finished half of the Main house. They will resume their work after resting for a bit.

Bai Yi Chen lightly chat with them and offer them to rest at the other room in the East house that they have clean and also clean drinking water. The workers has bring their own lunch and they ate while sitting on the wooden stool under the shade at the courtyard. They later went inside the room to have a short rest before resuming their work.

The siblings too didn't stay in the kitchen after lunch, they return to the main house and do their respective activities. Bai Yi Yang let the three children went inside the room to sleep while she went to take a bath. Because of the strangers in their house, Bai Yi Chen sat at the stone steps outside the West House to guard the bathroom for his twin.

When coming out to this sight, Bai Yi Yang was moved, she didn't say anything and sat next to him.

"You have taken a bath, don't come too near, I smell of sweat." Bai Yi Chen said. Bai Yi Yang liking towards this cold looking brother but has a kind heart has raised much more than before. He seems indifference but he is actually a very kind older brother.

"En, I don't mind." Bai Yi Yang lips curved into a sweet smile. Bai Yi Chen sigh and let her be.

"You changed a lot..not in a bad way.." He said in a low voice. Bai Yi Yang knows that Bai Yi Chen have been suspicious of her, there were uneasiness in his eyes every time she did something that didn't match with the original Bai Yi Yang.

"Ge..I indeed changed a lot. I know you are suspicious about a lot of things..but, you don't have to think much about it..isn't the most important thing is that we siblings are well? What I am doing is exactly that. I know you had do a lot for the family, but a family doesn't mean one person carrying all the burden, a family means sharing the burden. I am sharing the burden with you, just like how Xiao Ling takes care of the youngest, we also have our part. I won't be able to replace Xiao Ling and your roles, so what I am doing now is how I contribute.. So, I don't mind you being suspicious, because I am doing all of this for us." Bai Yi Yang said earnestly.

She is indeed a bit touched by the Bai siblings because of their kindness and love towards her. If before their image overlap with the one from the other world, now there is none of that uncomfortable feeling anymore.

"But Yang Yang, before this you can't even speak like this to me..what more dealing with all kinds of people..earning a lot of money.." Bai Yi Chen cannot understand all of these sudden change.

"Isn't that natural? I am a person who has almost cross the death door.." Bai Yi Yang said this casually which makes Bai Yi Chen froze. He feels guilty about this, he was incompetent.

"Xiao Ling must have said it to you, I didn't remember everything about our family..or our past.." She adds.

"En, she did tell me a bit, she said when you woke up you were a bit confused.." He answer.

"That is true. I was confused about this and that when I woke up, because I had a long dream.. Ge, will you listen to my story?" Bai Yi Yang said. She know her changes will become a things that Bai Yi Chen cannot moved on with, so she need to tell him something that can explain her change of behaviour and all the foreign things that she know.

"En." Bai Yi Chen nod.

"In my dream, I was abandoned in an orphanage by my parents, I grew up in the orphanage and I went through a lot of things, abuse, endless scolding, getting spit on, forced to do hard labour.. I went through that until I was released from the orphanage at 18. I was barely able to survive with scholarships money, competition prize and so on. Then, I finished my formal education and joined an institution, a research institution for young people with higher IQ than the rest, that's where I met my blood parents again, they are top researchers in the institute with powerful family background. It wasn't a beautiful reunion, I end up knowing the reason I was abandoned and it was because they just want to protect their name and good reputation. I met my siblings too, they were cold to me and when they also found out about our relationship, they start to se me as a parasite that want to leech of their fame. I lived like that in my dream until one day I discovered a secret that we young researcher were going to be killed because of a secret that should never be leaked out. I was chased by elite soldiers into a jungle then I woke up from that dream..that is why I was confused at that time. My dream looks so realistic that I took it as the reality, I was having a hard time differentiating dream and reality." Bai Yi Yang said with a small sad smile. Well, this is also a possibility, who knows if her life in the other world actually is just a dream? This is also a possibility right, so she is not entirely telling a lie.

"Yang Yang…" Bai Yi Chen called out. No wonder she was against going to the orphanage after she woke up.

"Ge, in that dream, I don't have family who care for me even a bit. Here in reality, I have all of you. How can I continue doing nothing and let us siblings has the same fate as me in the dream.." Bi Yi Yang said, she almost cried as she recalled her sad, lonely and tragic life. Now is good, there is no one that will harm her, she won't be continuously oppressed, how good is life here. Never in million years will she return to the kind of life in the other world.

"I was wrong…I shouldn't have asked…I won't ask again…can you forgive me?" Bai Yi Chen was send into a panic. He didn't know that when his sister is asleep while she was sick, she had a bad dream that affected her so much like this.

"I am happy that I came out of that dream…I just want all of us to have a great life ahead.." She continue.

"Yes, I know. I am so stupid to doubt you..Yang Yang, I will let you hit me as much as you want.." Bai Yi Chen bow his head towards Bai Yi Yang so that she can hit him. Bai Yi Yang tears didn't falls down in the end, she laugh at her silly brother.

"Fool.." She turn her back against him and smile gloatingly.

"Yang Yang…you forgive me?" Bai Yi Chen turn her shoulder towards him then reach out to hold her hands.

How long hasn't they talked like this? Their relationship wasn't as close as the two youngest one, when Bai Yi Yang was a child, she was sick and fragile so Bai Yi Chen always act as the big brother rather, so their relationship was a bit distant. But it was still good, they hang out and play together a lot, Bai Yi Chen likes his twin, so he often play with her even though she is very quiet and don't really have friends.

However when they entered Junior secondary school, they start living in the hostel, so they grew apart. What more Bai Yi Yang become more quiet, she won't talk much with her twin anymore, what more showing close affection as twins.

"How can I get angry with you? You are so good.." Bai Yi Yang said with a smile. Bai Yi Chen also smile brightly. He rarely smile like this since he always have a serious face, he seems like a normal teenager now.

"Ge, I want you to smile more, play around and be like a 16 years old teenager. Making money is important but we do it together, I don't like you going to town and get a job that only adults do. Anything in the future, let's do it together. Alright?" Bai Yi Yang said as she clenched his hands.

Bai Yi Chen eyes reddened and it becomes watery. He is touched, nobody has said this to him since their parents passed, everyone told him to be stronger since he still have younger siblings with him, he need to take responsibility for his siblings and so on. He knows that but who is he supposed to depend on? He is also only 14 when their parents passed.

'Ohh nooooo…is he going to cry? I don't know how to coax a crying teenage boy' She sends SOS to the system.

'This system cannot really read human emotion well. Host please don't go to me for answer' The system said.

Bai Yi Yang was thinking hard when Bai Yi Chen hugged her. He softly sobbed on her shoulder and said some words of grievance such as: "I miss mom and dad…Why only us don't have parent..Why grandma and grandpa treat us like this..I hate second uncle family..."

The Bai Yi Chen grieving sessions in front of the kitchen last for about 15 minutes before he came to his sense. His eyes is red and swollen and he cannot meet his twin eyes after that. Even when their parents passed he didn't cried like this, but now that he lowered his guard, he cried like a baby.

"I am sorry I stained your clothes.." He look at Bai Yi Yang wet shoulder by his tears and snout.

"It's fine.." Bai Yi Yang smile lightly but inside she is feeling dumbfounded, the seemingly cool older brother is hiding all these grievances inside him all these years.

Both of them just sat there for a while without words. All are said and emotions are released, both of them feels much more lighter. At least after this both of them will become more honest and dependent on each other.

"Ge, you go bath first, in the evening lets start sowing the seeds.." Bai Yi Yang knows that he is embarrassed now, so she quickly changed the topic.

"En, then you go rest too…and change your clothes.." He said before almost running to the West house to take a changing clothes. Bai Yi Yang found him so adorable like that.

'You should save it in your memory, he probably never do that again in this life.' The system who have gone offline while the siblings are talking finally comment. Well indeed both the host and her siblings is quite pitiful.

They were crying that bitterly, of course the system can easily interpret that they are extremely sad. Well, being with the Host, the system also learn one or two thing.
