Chapter 234: Cooking for Bai Yi Fang’s birthday

Bai Yi Yang start preparations early in the morning. After Bai Yi Chen and Bai Yi Ling leave, she start taking out the ingredients to make the food for Bai Yi Fang's birthday party. Bai Yi Yang only invited close people and children but she estimated that there will be not less than 50 people, so she need to prepare a lot of food, if they can't finish it then people can bring it back, she is only worry that the food won't be enough.

The first food that Bai Yi Yang is making is fruit salad, she is going to store it in the fridge and it when they take it out later, it will be refreshing to eat. Bai Yi Yang choose different type of fruits that will go well together, mix them and they will make beautiful colour combinations. Since her knife skills is so good, things like this easy.

After covering them with plastic wrap and storing them in the fridge, Bai Yi Yang start preparing dough for her next menu, Nachos hot dogs. The dough are made of flour, yogurt, salsa, chilli powder and crushed tortilla chips, forming a soft dough. As for the hot dog, they will be cut up slightly and cheese will be inserted into the slit. The dough the divided into parts, rolled into a long strip before wrapping them around the cheese-stuffed hot dog.

She never made this before but Bai Yi Fang saw a picture of this one time and wanted to try it. Generally, Bai Yi Yang don't really bake, occasionally she will make simple breads but that's all. This will be another attempt. Actually, there is now way this menu won't be delicious right? Cheese and hot dogs is one of the best combinations. Bai Yi Yang preheated the oven, fill up 2 trays before putting it into the oven.

"What is this delicious smell?" Bai Yi Fang and Bai Yi Mo finally woke up and came to the kitchen to have breakfast. No wonder, now is already 9.00 am.

"Nachos Hot dog." Bai Yi Yang answer.

"I can't wait to taste it." Bai Yi Fang said excitedly as she eat her breakfast.

"I will let. You have a taste first when it's done." Bai Yi Yang smile and continue doing her work.

Next menu will be cute mini burgers with homemade mini beef patties. Bai Yi Yang first make the dough for making buns later. When the Nachos hot dogs is finished cooking, she will make the bun for the mini burgers. She then put the dough aside and start making beef patties, mincing them then seasoning and finally grilling them. After grilling, 4 total batches of Nachos hot dogs is finished so she start making the bun. It didn't finish with that, she also need to prepare the other ingredients for the mini burgers, big onion, tomatoes, cheese slices and cheddar cheese sauce. Only then can she move on to the next menu.

The next menu is corn dogs which Bai Yi Yang had made before so it was quite easy. She made this while making buns for the mini burgers too. So when Zhou Zhu Yao arrived, she immediately gave the task of deep frying the corn dogs to her.

"Heaven, this food you are making is really dream comes true for children." Zhou Zhu Yao said as she saw the prettily stacked Nachos hot dogs and the mini burgers that Bai Yi Yang is assembling now.

"It's only a one time thing, too many junk food that children loves. What time is the cake arriving?" Bai Yi Yang ask.

"Around 11.00 am. Oh right..i..asked your Mr.Ling for help." Zhou Zhu Yao said reluctantly as she check on Bai Yi Yang's expression.

"Mr.Ling?! Jie..you two..?" Bai Yi Yang actually have this instinct, Mr.Ling is unnecessarily awkward even with Bai Yi Chen recently.

"What?!" Zhou Zhu Yao blush.

"Are you dating?" Bai Yi Yang whisper.

"Not yet. But he is courting me, I haven't replied him." Zhou Zhu Yao whisper back. Bai Yi Yang eyes widened, well, this is a new. How happy will Grandma Zhou be if she know about this.

"Don't say it to anyone." Zhou Zhu Yao warn the grinning Bai Yi Yang. Bai Yi Yang nod and continue to gossip with Zhou Zhu Yao about the two of them, how they clique and so on. The story was quite simple, they actually exchanged phone number when Mr.Ling came here last time, then occasionally they will meet within the same friend circle. Their conversation and personality match, they get along well and eventually Mr.Ling decided to woo Zhou Zhu Yao. Bai Yi Yang think they match too, what more other than being a bit boring, Mr.Ling is a good man.

After finishing their current work, Bai Yi Yang and Zhou Zhu Yao rest in the living room while waiting for Bai Yi Chen to return home. All the meat and seafood Bai Yi Yang going to cook will be bought by him.

"Yeah, what is it?" Bai Yi Yang pick up Zhang Yong's call.

"Fang Fang is busy, second uncle's children is here." Bai Yi Yang said again after Zhang Yong ask about Fang Fang whereabouts. Other than Zhou Zhu Yao, Grandma Cui and the children is also here early.

"En, we know you are busy, the gift last time is more than enough." Bai Yi Fang said in comforting tone, Zhang Yong sound a bit dispirited.

"Alright, go ahead. I will delivery your words to Fang Fang." Bai Yi Yang said before hanging up. It's just a simple call, telling them that he won't be able to come.

Actually Zhang Yong have been a bit busy, much busy than usual this week. This is only his 2nd call in for this week which is rare, there is something about the Zhou family business's crisis, she didn't ask further from Zhang Yong. The good thing is that since she also spend time to text Ah Qi, she won't have time to listen to Zhang Yong's complaints or stories.

"Yang Yang, Yi Chen will be so stressed out fending against boys courting you." Zhou Zhu Yao laugh lightly.

"There is no such thing as that." Bai Yi Yang state clearly. She have Ah Qi now, well even though their relationship started a bit unusual, she won't look at other guy now. What more, she wasn't really interested before, she also don't know why she decided to date Ah Qi.

"Really? Then why did I heard Fang Fang said, this gege and this gege. One time it will be Big brother Zhang, then Su Long gege, Jian Yu gege or Ah Qi gege.." Zhou Zhu Yao said teasingly. Bai Yi Yang panic when Zhou Zhu Yao mentioned Ah Qi, but most probably she will think that he is someone from school too.

"Jie, I have many female friends too." Bai Yi Yang said.

"Of course, even though Ming Ming is number 1, I also heard the name Ruby and other. Of course, my ears can be selective, I love gossip you see." Zhou Zhu Yao said. Bai Yi Yang just laugh and chat about other thing with her.

When Bai Yi Chen returned pushing his bike with Old Jin, Bai Yi Yang get busy again. Bai Yi Yang call people to come at 12.30 pm. Most probably they will have lunch at 1.00 pm or something, so she don't have much time if she is cooking a lot.

"Today seafood is fresh, we bought a lot." Old Jin said as he help bring in the styrofoam box.

"En, we won't be short of food." Bai Yi Yang smile.

"Yang Yang, Grandpa Jin payed for all the meat and seafood, he said it's a treat for Fang Fang's birthday." Bai Yi Chen said in a low voice to Bai Yi Yang when Old Jin is chatting with Grandma Zhou outside the kitchen.

"En, let's accept his good intention. I will thank him later." Bai Yi Yang nod and smile. It won't be an exaggeration if they say that Old Jin is like their family now. The Bai siblings never forget him if there is good thing, so accepting his treat is just natural. It's not about how much money is spent, it's about his good intention. What more, he is the closest with Xiao Mo and Fang Fang.

Bai Yi Yang didn't waste time since the raw ingredients is here, she need to start cooking immediately.

"This many chicken wings, what are you making?" Zhou Zhu Yao ask as she watch Old Jin busy preparing the chicken wings per Bai Yi Yang's instruction.

"Ermm..Buffalo wings, crispy wings with honey garlic sauce and sweet and spicy Korean fried chicken. I like using chicken wings when making them." Bai Yi Yang answer, she is now preparing the one that Old Jin had finished preparing. As for Bai Yi Chen, he is busy boiling the shrimp, Bai Yi Yang is going to use that to make Vietnamese rice rolls, they look pretty and delicious too.

"Sounds delicious." Zhou Zhu Yao said.

'En, they are very delicious.' TongTong on the side commented.

"What can I help with?" Zhou Zhu Yao look around.

"Ah..jie, you can do that. I will season the ground beef and you shape them round into meatballs." Bai Yi Yang said. She abandoned her current work and went to take a big bowl, put the 2 kg of ground beef, add a few other ingredients and take a bunch of seasoning, herbs and spices before skilfully adding them onto the ground beef.

"Do I need to mix them and shape them? I can help fried them too." Zhou Zhu Yao wear a plastic gloves.

"Yes, mix them until everything is blended together then shape them round. You can use an oven tray and parchment paper, we are going to baked them instead." Bai Yi Yang said.

"Okay, considered it done." Zhou Zhu Yao grinned.

For today small party, other than the small things that children love to eat, Bai Yi Yang is also preparing Vietnamese rice rolls, 3 type of chicken wings, meatballs in black pepper sauce, creamy mushroom pasta and Bolognaise spaghetti.

Other than all these meat dishes, Bai Yi Yang also wanted to make Greek Salad which consist of big cubes of feta cheese, juicy fresh tomatoes, olives, herbs, bell peppers, and cucumber. She is using fresh and nutritious ingredients from their vegetables field too, she only need simple dressing for this salad to be delicious.

With all these dishes, it may take a while but there are many people helping her. They can finish this before 12.30 pm.
