190 Chapter 190: Dim sum and steamed bun feast

Bai Yi Yang went to take a shower as Zhou Zhu Yao help her unpacked. Bai Yi Yang is a bit shy about her dirty clothes so she told Zhou Zhu Yao not to open the other compartment, she will do it herself later. So, Zhou Zhu Yao only open the unused clothes area and the things that Bai Yi Yang bought from Country S. As for the tarts Zhang Yong bought for her, Bai Yi Chen already put it in the fridge. The macaroons is in the two girls hand now.

When Bai Yi Yang Yang come out of the bathroom with new clothes, she saw Zhou Zhu Yao and her siblings looking though the stuff from Country S.

"Why did you buy perfume like this?" Zhou Zhu Yao said, she is talking about the perfume with special scents that Bai Yi casually bought, there are also the scented candles.

"Just an impulse, they are interesting." Bai Yi Yang said. She surely won't use it, but surely it is Country S specialty.

"As for the candle, I will use it." Bai Yi Yang said. She wanted to try using scented candle, who knows maybe she will like it.

"Then give me one, I wanted to try too." Zhou Zhu Yao is tempted. She is a true village kids, there are no such useless hobbies like this.

"Okay ah." Bai Yi Yang join them and let them open one packet of biscuits.

She also allocated a few different type of snacks and food for Old Zhou house, some for Old Jin too. Bai Yi Chen immediately volunteer to go since he need to pick up his bicycle from Aunt Mu shop too. As for the rest of villagers that they know, Bai Yi Yang only gave a few snacks, not as much as Old Zhou house and Old Jin. As for Zhang Ming Ming portion, she will give it later.

Bai Yi Yang then sorted out her dirty laundry, just right, today is a laundry day so Bai Yi Ling watch over it while Bai Yi Yang and Zhou Zhu Yao enter the kitchen. Bai Yi Yang plan to mass produce dumplings and buns. They have a lot of meat in the fridge since Bai Yi Yang didn't cook this week.

She is making a few types of jiaozi with beef, pork and vegetarian filling, but she still need to wait for Bai Yi Chen to bring back the tofu. Then she is making 2 different type of shumai too, chicken and pork with mushrooms, her favourite har gao, 2 type of wonton with ground chicken and pork meat, then mandu, a traditional dumpling from other countries that also included kimchi as an important ingredient. Another one that Bai Yi Yang recently fall in love with is bean curd sheet roll.

As for the steamed buns, Bai Yi Yang is making everyone's favourite pork bun with pork, mushrooms and boiled egg filling. Then, one with vegetables and boiled egg fillings too. The two will be enough for savoury taste bun, as for the sweet fillings bun, she will make one with custard and red bean filling.

Bai Yi Yang have Zhou Zhu Yao as her assistant today, she told Zhou Zhu Yao to start making different type of dough as she work on the fillings of every type of dim sums she is making today. She usually made this alone, with Zhou Zhu Yao here, her work become less and she have someone to talk to. Zhou Zhu Yao may not be good in cooking in general but she can follow instructions very well, like Bai Yi Chen.

When Bai Yi Chen return home, he went into the kitchen and saw them working on the steamed buns. He knows that Bai Yi Yang will make a lot than usual today.

"YangYang, how about I light up the fireplace outside and we can use the big iron pot." Bai Yi Chen suggest.

"That's also good." Bai Yi Yang agree. She and Zhou Zhu Yao can work inside and Bai Yi Chen can do the steaming work.

"Ge, you tell the children to call over Grandma Zhou and second uncle's children and also Shitou and the bunch. It's fine to call more children too. Let's them have some." Bai Yi Yang said.

Second Zhou's children is here now, to be exact it's the 5 years old Zhou Zi Yi and 3 years old Zhou Zi San. Second Zhou's wife Aunt Qing is near her delivery date so they don't want her to be too busy taking care of the children too, just nice, Grandma Zhou is staying at home too, she can take care of the two grandchildren. As for Zhou Zi San the eldest, he have to go to school so he cannot come over until the semester ends.

"Okay." Bai Yi Chen said before calling over the children. Not long after, Bai Yi Mo and Bai Yi Fang come running over to the kitchen.

"Can we really bring our friends over?" Bai Yi Mo ask. His friends have heard words that Bai Yi Yang invited the Zhang siblings, Zhang Ming Ming younger siblings to have some kind of feast in their house, so they told him about it. Actually Bai Yi Yang doesn't mind him bringing friends over, but his older sister have been busy recently, so he don't want to trouble her.

"Yeah. Call them over." Bai Yi Yang said.

"Can I bring Nuo Nuo too?" Bai Yi Fang ask. She is talking about Li Su Nuo, Second Li's daughter.

"En, sure." Bai Yi Yang agree. They are all children and she is cooking a lot, no problem at all.

Bai Yi Mo and Bai Yi Fang cheer and immediately ran to take their bike, they are going to ride fast down the mountain.

"Be careful and don't forget to tell Grandma Zhou." Bai Yi Yang remind them from the kitchen window.

"Got it." Bai Yi Mo answer, they are already outside the gate ready to take off.

As for Bai Yi Ling friend from the same village Song Ah Yu, her house is a bit far, what more Bai Yi Ling don't have a way to invite her over. It will be too tiring to walk up and down the mountain. Song Ah Yu house is further into the village than Old Jin house.

Bai Yi Ling is also in the kitchen now, helping them making the food. Since she watch Bai Yi Yang a lot and Bai Yi Yang also taught her how to wrap them up, she is actually very helpful.

Bai Yi Yang and Zhou Zhu Yao continued doing their work. Bai Yi Yang work on making the two type of jiaozi first then she put it in the freezer except for the one that they will steam today. Everything is easy since she already prepare all type of stuffing early on, after that she proceed with making shumai and repeat the same process. At the beginning of making the buns, she also show Zhou Zhu Yao some tips to make it faster and prettier.

So, by the time the group of children arrive, Bai Yi Chen already finished a few batch of steamed buns. There are Shitou and the gang, Li Su Nuo and 5 other children that Bai Yi Yang have seen the face but don't know the name. They all enthusiastically greet Bai Yi Chen who is doing the steaming work and eyed the big pot eagerly.

"Xiao Mo, where is Grandma Zhou?" Bai Yi Yang ask from the kitchen.

"On the way. Little Zi Hao don't want to walk so Grandma Zhou have to carry her. She is coming together with Xiao Bao's grandmother." Bai Yi Mo said.

Xiao Bao's grandmother is that Grandma Li, the Li's brothers mother. Bai Yi Yang only met her once during Old Zhou house feast, Grandma Li is older than Grandma Zhou, can she still walk up the mountain?

Seeing the big sister of the house come out, the unfamiliar children shyly greet her, Bai Yi Yang smile at them and told them to eat a lot.

"Yes." They all answer.

Bai Yi Chen haven't allowed them to eat because it is still very hot, even the two batches that is already steamed, so some sat on the wooden stools to watch the steaming process and some went to play with the two puppies. The house is really quite merry with the children around. One thing that Bai Yi Yang likes about children in this village is that they won't enter any rooms when they are not allowed too, like right now, they are only playing at the central courtyard without going into the living room.

Bai Yi Yang and the rest continue to work in the kitchen, in no time, they run out of space to freeze the dim sums in the fridge. Actually, she is going to give some to Old Jin and Old Zhou house too, what more huge amount will be sent to City Nan for Zhang Yong tomorrow, there won't be too much left by then, but now, they really don't have the space.

"Ge!" Bai Yi Yang call Bai Yi Chen over.

"En?" Bai Yi Chen leave his work and come over.

Bai Yi Yang think that the only way is to send over the rest straight to Old Zhou house and Old Jin without freezing them in advance. They can put it in their fridge or immediately steam it now.

"Make a delivery for me." Bai Yi Yang said. She make sure to put a lot of flour so that they raw dim sums won't stick to each other. As for the steam buns, she take a few of each type and put them in plastics. A bigger portion for Old Zhou house.

"Just send the one for Uncle Jin, our portion we can bring it on our own." Zhou Zhu Yao said.

"Let him bring it so that Grandpa Zhou and second uncle can have a taste soon." Bai Yi Yang said. Zhou Zhu Yao can only agree before taking over Bai Yi Chen's work outside.

Only when Grandma Zhou and Grandma Li arrive did Zhou Zhu Yao returned to the kitchen. Bai Yi Yang also enter the kitchen back after greeting the elders. Grandma Li also come with 2 of her grandchildren, they are her eldest daughter's children. Xiao Bao also chat briefly with his grandmother before coming to play in Bai Yi Mo's bedroom.

"Jie, can we eat the buns now?" Bai Yi Mo who is tired from playing in his room come out with the rest.

'Host, it has cooled down.' Said TongTong who is munching on custard steamed bun now.

"Okay. Call your friends over to wash your hands with soap, then take a plate each." Bai Yi Yang said. Bai Yi Ling understand immediately and go to prepare the plate for the children. Out of the children here today, Bai Yi Ling is the biggest, the rest are just bean sprouts.

"Line up to wash your hand. I won't give the plate for anyone who didn't wash their hand properly." Bai Yi Ling warn. Bai Yi Ling is known as the fierce older sister of Bai Yi Mo and Bai Yi Fang. They immediately behave and line up to wash hand on the kitchen sink which Bai Yi Yang already put the stepping stool so they can reach it.

Shitou is the first one who finished washing his hand, he is familiar with the Bai's house rule so the other children will just imitate how he pump out the soap and wash his hand.

"Yi Yang jie, which one is which?" Shitou ask seeing the steamed buns with 4 different colouring on top. Bai Yi Yang mark it that way to be easy to identify the filling.

"Black is pork bun, green is vegetables bun, yellow is custard bun and red is red bean bun. Just take what you can finish, we haven't start steaming the other dim sums yet. When you finish eating then you can take another one." Bai Yi Yang remind the children who is already drooling looking at the steaming buns on the diner table. Bai Yi Chen has arranged them according to colours just now on the metal tray. Bai Yi Yang often mass produce food so she bought many of this metal tray, at times like this when she make a lot of dim sums and buns, they become useful.

"Xiao Mo, let's share the custard bun, I wanted to eat one pork bun on my own." Shitou said to Bai Yi Mo who is still waiting in line.

"Okay." Bai Yi Mo agree. Seeing that Shitou is taking initiative, the children waiting in line discuss with one another who to share with and what to share. Some even wanted to divide the big buns into 4, later they will decide which one they like the most and eat that certain steam buns.

When the steamed buns is done, then they start steaming the dim sums. It becomes Bai Yi Chen work again after he return, the two old ladies enter the cool kitchen and eat comfortably at the table.

Bai Yi Yang and the rest immediately clean up after they are done with the work. Even though they can sit at the bar stool, it was still a bit tiring for Zhou Zhu Yao and Bai Yi Fang.

"Jie, eat a lot." Bai Yi Yang push the various steamed dim sums in front of Zhou Zhu Yao. Zhou Zhu Yao take a bite and the taste is indeed superior.

"Yi Yang, what do you say about doing business with this sister?" Zhou Zhu Yao said as she finished the bean curd sheet roll in two bites.

"Jie, I am busy." Bai Yi Yang laugh.

"You try to influence Yi Yang again? Remember, she is a student.." Grandma Zhou scold her youngest daughter. This is not the first time Zhou Zhu Yao have this kind of ideas.

Grandma Li at the side laugh seeing the their good relationship. Then, when it comes to Zhou Zhu Yao, of course the topic of marriage cannot be avoided. Apparently Grandma Li's eldest son-in-law have a younger brother working in town, 1 year younger than Zhou Zhu Yao and he works at the factory. Grandma Li casually mentioned this but who doesn't understand her meaning.

Zhou Zhu Yao have a not so happy expression as she continue to eat the dim sums while pretending not go understand, only answering with a hum here and there.

Bai Yi Yang know Zhou Zhu Yao is uncomfortable at the moment but Grandma Zhou seems to be enthusiastic about this, so she didn't say anything. This is the 'adult' business, she can just try to comfort Zhou Zhu Yao later.
