38 Chapter 38 - Conclusion of the 2 Days War

With the success of the operation conducted by Adam and Winter, Agent manages to seize power the very next morning while people are still panicking about covering up the news of the death of the five Councillors.

The Atlesian Knights and Paladins they are so proud of instantly turn against its creators and people. Their prided Airship was hijacked by an unknown Virus that infected its system and prevented anyone from using it.

To double down on the already massive crisis, the 'dirts' of the councilors were revealed to public and caused a public outrage especially on Jacques who became the cornerstone of a riot who was described as a power hungry person that conspired with the corrupt military high ranking officials to assassinate James Ironwood in order to rise in power. The fact he bribed and lobbying more money than the collective four Councilors was the final nail to the coffin as his corpse was never given a proper burial as people got their hands on it and tore it apart, desecrating it before it vanished to gods know where.

SDC became a victim in the crossfire as it was seized by the government immediately as they were trying to do damage control and they couldn't lose their only assets, the Dust mining industry. It was, however, futile.

The same morning, Vale revealed and took responsibility for the death of the 5 Councillors. They declared it was a decisive operation to eliminate the corrupt politicians that are ruining humanity.

Of course, many did not believe it until the detailed report of the operation was released. However, what cemented the claim was in fact the President of Vale could command the Atlesian Knights and Paladins and Airships that lose control.

Stripped of their military force, Kingdom of Atlas could do nothing but surrender to Vale. However, the President of Vale promised the people of Atlas and Mantle that they will enter a new golden age under his rule. His claim isn't baseless either as seen by the world, what Vale had become after only a little more than a month under his rule.

As such, the people of Atlas and Mantle both agreed to peacefully accept him as their new ruler with the promise of prosperity. Especially the people of Mantle that were basically begging him to take over at that point as they were fed up with the day and night treatment between Atlas and Mantle.

Three days after the takeover of Atlas.

Adam is as busy as ever, dealing with a big pile of paperwork that was caused due to the neglect of the Councillors to properly address all matters that appeared. Majority of the minor issues were ignored until they became too big and too difficult to handle. Therefore, Adam and especially Agent are working overtime for quite literally three days without stopping just to quickly handle all the domestic issues so they can finally turn Atlas into a well oiled machine for their use instead of a machine that breaks apart every few moments.

The problem is a lot but it was mainly focused on the unfair rules and the lacking of basic needs. Poor economy, pollution from industries, lack of crucial civil infrastructure, lack of resources to maintain those infrastructure and many more. Literally a mountain more that keeps on piling as the two dig further into the crux of the problems. However, the major concern for now is safety, living conditions and food.

Atlas lacks food but has very serious industrial power and raw materials as mines littered the land, especially Dust. Meanwhile Vale is the complete opposite. Thus, it can be temporarily fixed with shipment of foods into Kingdom of Atlas while Atlas contributes back with its industrial power.

The matter of living conditions is a little more difficult to take care of due to the lack of planning and rampant expansion of industry while the territory didn't. It tied back to safety. The expansion is not possible because of the lack of safety for the population to expand outward from the current wall.

While redoing everything is incredibly time and resource consuming, Agent however agreed on expansion projects. Border Expansion Projects aim to double Mantle's territory and use the new unpolluted land for residential areas while the already polluted area will fully be converted into industrial complexes. The Builder robots will build an even grander wall and are armed with sufficient weapons to defend against Grimms attack.

Meanwhile the Atlesian military was sent to Vale to combat the Virus Outbreak.

With this, most of the preliminary issues with Atlas and Mantle to have them working on sufficient capacity for now.

At this point, Adam is already very proficient with his job that even in his sleep, his hand is still stamping the documents without stopping.

*Bang!*

"Huh?!" Adam jolts awake by the noise and looks around in a panic as his fight or flight instinct flaring up from the sudden waking up. But his hand had miraculously not stopped stamping documents.

"See! I told you the Demon Maid holds Onii-san hostage and makes him work like a slave to death." Tina instigates Alice with her demonic whispers.

"I knew it! SF is evil! Don't worry, Master. Alice will definitely save you from the Demon." All five Alices charge at Agent who was also caught off guard and piled on top of her while Tina sling Adam over her shoulder and jump off the window.

"Let go of me!" Agent was exasperated as five Alice is too much for her to handle.

"No! I will not let you work Master to death!" Alice fought even harder to pin down Agent for Tina to escape.

"You had been tricked by that imp! Gahh! Let go of me! She is kidnapping Master away!"

*Thud*

"Adam was kidnapped!" Winter, who trotted into the office with some refreshments for Adam, immediately dropped the tray and went into a hysterical episode before going crazy and chasing after Adam like a bloodhound.

"Oh no…" Agent could only gasp as hell is about to descend knowing what had happened to Winter who is too emotionally dependent on Adam when Adam went missing.

She could only pray that Vale is still intact by the next sunrise.

The sight of their ruler being dragged- No, hauled by a girl half his size is probably a very odd occurrence for the population of Vale. But being followed by thousands upon thousands of girls half his age and calling him with a variety of titles which have the same meaning, is probably an odd occurrence.

First, who are these girls and second, where did they come from? Surely someone would notice if more than 20 thousand girls suddenly appeared in Vale. No one recognised them either.

"Papa! Can I try some ice cream?"

"Sure…"

The ice cream vendor immediately sold out of ice cream and went home happy with a big profit.

"Daddy! I want to ride this!"

"Okay, be careful not to break them…"

The theme park was filled to the brim with visitors and money pouring in like a river.

"Father! Can I have this cat as a pet?"

"Daddy! I want the puppy!"

"Daddy! I want a bear!"

"Fu- *cough* Please return the bear to the zoo." Adam pity the bear that got manhandled before dragged to him.

"Papa! I want this!

"Father! I want that!

"I want this!"

"I want that!"

"AHHH!!!" Adam is at the verge of pulling his hair due to stress right now with his multi-million Lien card swiped till empty like a pauper and declined with police almost calling on him if not for his status as the President and he promised to pay by tomorrow.

"Ah, is it that hard to be in the center of attention, onii-san?" Tina asked with a lethargic looking eyes with dark bags underneath.

"We are sorry. We were very selfish and made daddy angry. Please don't throw us away… Waahh!" The girls immediately broke into tears and attracted misunderstanding from the passerby.

"No! I'm not angry at all of you. No stop! Don't cry!" It was futile to stop the crowd of twenty thousand from crying.

Suddenly, a loud clap seemed to do its magic as the girls stopped crying and looked at the newly arrived person. Adam also turns to look at the person that helped him solve this disaster.

"Mrs Wi- *cough* Mother…" It still felt awkward to call someone that isn't his real mother, mother. But this is necessary to keep her mental state stable…

"Grandma Willow!" The girls instantly swarm Willow with a smile and giggle.

"Hello to you all too, my cute granddaughters." She warmly received them before her countenance turned angry. "What did I say about inconveniening your father? He is a very busy man with two nation to run."

"You too, Tina. I heard from Miss Agent that you kidnapped your brother from his office." She immediately went for the ear and pulled it. "What do you have to say about it, hmn?"

"Ahh! Sorry mother, I will not do it again." Tina pleads with teary eyes, but he doubts it would feel painful considering how strong the Cursed Children are in general. They can fall from five storey high and receive barely any injury other than some soreness.

"Good you know you are wrong. Now, let grandma bring everyone out to play and let your father rerun to his work."

"Yay! Let's go, grandma!" The girls cheered.

It seems Willow is much more popular to the girls than Adam. Before Willow left, she winked at Adam and Tina which left them both alone while the other girls were lead away.

"Is this how it felt to have a mother?" Tina questioned in a daze while rubbing her ear that had been pulled by Willow.

"I guess? It does feel great to have someone else to rely on. To have a family." Adam corrected Tina.

"Ah! There you are, Adam!" Winter arrived out of nowhere, gasping for air as if she just finished a marathon.

Winter rushed to Adam before embracing him, pressing him into her chest while she sighed contently, able to continue basking in his presence.

"Winter! Please release me! I'm dying… Tina… help…" Adam was suffocated by Winter while Tina pouted and called him a pervert. Typical anime shit because the author is running out of idea.

Anyway, while all this happened. Team RWBY happen to be taking a stroll in Vale and unexpectedly encountered Adam and his group.

"Wuu… how could all the ice cream vendor suddenly sold out of ice cream." Ruby brooding depressedly from the lacking glucose in her blood.

"That is odd indeed. The people we asked said someone brought a large crowd of children and bought all of it. Not just ice cream, but all snacks too." The cat Faunus in hiding, said.

"Can't Weiss just make one? Eh? Weisscream?"

In response to the joke is only a straight face lacking all humor that stared straight back at the blond girl.

"Alright, alright. Sheesh, I was just trying to cheer everyone up from this depressing mood." Yang grumbles about the lack of appreciation to her effort.

Then Yang happened to glanced at a bench by the street and saw someone that resembles Weiss, hugging another man into her chest, suffocating him, the typical stuff she watched from her romance shows.

"Wait, Weiss. Isn't that your older sis? Also, isn't she being too close to the guy? Could it be she had a boyfriend?" Yang said as she can't see any features of the man being covered by Winter.

"Huh?" Weiss paused and confirmed the woman is indeed her sister.

The rest of the team also got interested and immediately went into stalking mode as they hid behind things to spy on the situation except Weiss who went forward and confronted Winter.

"Winter…"

Winter turned around and found Weiss.

"Weiss? Ah, right I forgot about you." Winter unashamedly admitted she forgot about Weiss since even before the Ansel Town incident.

Putting aside, her annoyance for all the worry Winter caused her for ghosting her calls and messages. She pushes her aside and looks at the man Winter had been lovey dovey with a moment ago.

"Wait, Whitley?!" Weiss looked in shock when the man's face matched the picture of the man Winter told her to search for.

The Weiss turn to Winter. "You found him all this time and you never bothered to tell me?" She asked angrily. "What else didn't you tell me?"

"I killed that man named Jacques?" Winter replied too casually for a severe statement like killing someone.

"You! You… So, it was true… I should have known… Who else can summon a Manticore… He… Hehehahaha!" Weiss laughed derangedly.

Winter's response was, "Ah! She is becoming like me." Winter looks exciting for Weiss's descent into madness from all the stress and worry Winter caused her and the collapse of SDC.

"Not on my watch!" Adam quickly appeared behind Weiss and gave her a smack on her neck to knock her out and ran away to the hospital. He had enough with two mentally unstable Schnees, he didn't need another one!
