The curtains are already open, but the sky is grey, pouring rain onto surface. It is 7:30 in the morning, and Andrew gets awoken by his alarm clock.

[I don't feel like I've even slept a minute.]

He gets up, does his regular routine and descends the stairs. He gets his breakfast ready and settles behind the table.

[Looks like no one else is awake yet.]

Andrew looks through the window while eating. It is still pouring.

[I can't even see the ocean with this weather. They said it was going to be a rainy day, but I wasn't expecting this. I'll probably take the bus if it doesn't stop any time soon.]

After he is done, he brings his plate, glass and cutlery to the kitchen. He ascends the stairs and walks into his parent's room.

"Mom?" He whispers.

"Hmm?"

"I'm taking the bus today, because of the rain."

"That's fine sweetie, have a safe trip. See you in the afternoon." His mother says sleepily.

"Until the afternoon." Andrew whispers back.

Andrew goes into his own room and gets his stuff together for the day. He leaves the house and proceeds towards the bus station. Having arrived at the station, he folds up his umbrella.

[Still ten minutes until the next bus.]

He pulls out his phone, out of boredom. He opens various apps, scrolls through them, but he doesn't do anything useful. He messages May about the bus, but she's not online and doesn't respond.

[Probably walking towards her station. I don't think she'd go cycling in this weather.]

After ten minutes of doing practically nothing, the bus arrives, and Andrew hops on. There are only a few people on the bus, seven at most, and they are all students from Clifftell College. Andrew takes a window seat, and he looks outside. Because of the rain, the fields aren't visible.

[Those plants might even wash away in this weather.]

The trip is a silent one. No one is sitting next to, or is talking to one other. The bus quietly arrives at the school, and everyone gets off.

[Let's see, English in A07.]

"Hey, Andrew!" May walks up to him, and she hugs him. "Sorry for not responding, I took the bus too but my phone was on silent."

"Ah, it's alright. Nice weather we're having." He says as he looks outside. May giggles.

"I haven't seen it rain this much in forever." She replies. "I hope it's over tomorrow, it would be nice to do something outside too during the party."

"Like what?"

"I don't know, just not sitting inside all the time would be nice. It would also be nicer if it were snowing, but I don't think that'll happen anymore."

"If it were to snow now, it would all melt because of the wet floor." Andrew explains. "That would be a good thing, though."

"Not everyone hates snow like you do." May says. "And I still don't get that. A snowy winter is definitely the best possible season."

"I prefer a warm summer." Andrew says.

"And I prefer not starting this discussion again." Keil says, who suddenly appears behind them. Both Andrew and May jump up from Keil's sudden appearance.

"Man, you scared me." Andrew says. "Let's go to A08."

[Lin told us she got sick, but I haven't seen Sarah either, nor have I gotten a message from her.]

They go to the classroom and wait in front until the bell rings. After the bell rings, Mister Elmar opens the door and Andrew, May and Keil sit down where they usually do. They unpack their bags and put their books on the table.

"Are you okay Andrew?" Mister Elmar asks.

"Yeah, I'm fine. I also got this recorder to monitor my heart for two weeks."

"That's good to hear." He says, and he starts the lesson.

[As compassionate as usual I see.]

A few minutes pass, and everyone is working.

[Hmm, which figure of speech did they…]

Andrew's thought process stops, as a surging sting from his heart spreads throughout his body. His arms aren't reaching for his chest, or for May next to him. His arms can't move. His arm feel incredibly heavy.

[I… Wha… This isn't… like the others… fuck...]

The sound of someone asking a question is muffled. The room feels tighter and tighter. Andrew sees May in the corner of his eyes, but she isn't noticing. He can't move a muscle. It probably looks like he is just working to other people.

[May! May! Keil! Elmar! I'm not… okay… May! Please, someone! Any… one… ]

His consciousness fades. He drops his pen.

"Andrew?" May looks to the side. Andrew's face is white. His eyes slowly turn to her, but he is only seeing a haze.

May jumps up from her chair and yells his name again, but Andrew is not able to hear it.

"M-m-" He tries to speak. Nothing else is coming out.

[Is this… what you call…]

Andrew sees May frantically pointing at people and speaking to him, but he isn't picking anything up.

His head falls onto the table, and his body goes limp. The final thing he sees is an expression of terror and despair on May's face. Everything is dark. Everything is silent.

Shorter chapter, as you have seen. The length of days vary greatly, so I might need to split up some of the longer days from future chapters, as I don't want the chapter length wobble too much.
