Chapter 17: Promise?
Autumn had called Dalton Saturday to see if they were still on for shooting their boys.
She hadn’t expected him to answer, let alone be willing to go after Friday night, but he was all for it.
“Cool, let’s go to the clearing behind my house a ways. You know, the one we used to practice at.”
“Sounds good, I’ll be there in about an hour.”
Autumn hung up and gathered her stuff to throw in the truck.
She was excited to get out and shoot again, but she really was just wanting to distract herself from last night.
What had she been thinking?
Oh, that’s right, she hadn’t been. Her emotions and hormones got the best of her and Liam probably thought she was as loose as they get.
“You hit on your boss and then tried to make him want you. You know better than that,” she lectured herself as she came back into the house to grab a hat and jacket.
“You what?”
Autumn jumped into the air, almost falling on her return down.
“Mom! You scared me. I thought you were in your room still.”
