Insane Boi in the Frying Pan

'...'-thinking.

"..."-talking.

[A/N: Finally, the greatest author is back again with this exciting new ff. The one and only greatest novel on this platform.]

[P.S. Put insults here--->]

In an ancient Chinese-style house on a mountain from a fictional book, a young 15-year-old boy was sleeping soundly. His chest was rising up and down in a rhythmic manner. Judging by his breathing pattern and his facial expression, the boy seemed to be in REM sleep.

'Huh, wtf? Where on Earth am I? No way I am not dead? Fuck Yeah!! I survived a day in the Gu world. No, it's too early for celebrations. I need information.' Thinking so, Yi Yun kept his eyes shut, and changed his breathing pattern back to being in REM sleep.

'Deep breathe in. Deep breathe out. If only I had more practice with this method. Hell, I don't even know if I am doing it right.' Yi Yun anxiously pondered as he focussed on his other 4 senses of smell, sound, taste, and touch.

'Hmm... my mouth feels like how it does when I have just woken up, so I am guessing no poisons? I hope none. Judging by the sound, there doesn't seem to be anyone in this room currently, and I am not detecting any unfamiliar smells, at least not any unfamiliar ones according to this guy's memories; for me, all these things are new. It's like I am a traveler on another continent that has just been discovered.'

'Judging by the familiar softness, I am lying in bed. My back is resting on the mattress while my face is pointing at the ceiling. Neither this guy nor I generally sleep in this way, so it's safe to assume that I was placed here by someone. This is bad; there really seems to be something terribly wrong.' Yi Yun fearfully and anxiously thought as his imagination ran wild, imagining a dozen scenarios he had read from novels in his past life.

'No, I need to focus, one thing at a time. First we find out the now, then we think about something else. I don't feel a glare coming down on my face.'

While Yi Yun's bed wasn't close to the window, sunlight still came shining through on his bed at the first light of dawn. It had helped the previous owner wake up early as the sunlight would directly glare at his eyes.

'The Sun has either not risen or the windows are closed. I don't feel any blindfolds or other things on my face. This bed does feel awfully familiar, so I am not in a different bed.'

Yi Yun pondered a bit more before he decided to open his eyes. He didn't create a commotion and only opened them slightly, such that he could barely observe what was happening while others wouldn't know if he was awake or asleep.

'Sucks to be in such a dangerous world, I have to be so careful.' Yi Yun lamented depressingly. Gazing at the top, he found the familiar ceiling of his room. He waited a few seconds and then turned lazily toward his right side as if he had turned in his sleep.

'No gasps or commotion, no silhouette can be seen as well.' Yi Yun patiently counted to 40 in his head and then sprang upright as if he had been struck by lightning.

His eyes were wide open, and his expression was one of fear and shock as if he had just been in a life-and-death situation. Looking around, his face turned first to confusion, then calm.

'Huh, so there really is no one here. Or they are just hiding in secret observing me, well if they really are hiding in secret, then all I can do is pray I don't make any mistakes; I am not that great at acting after all.' Thinking so, Yi Yun's calm gaze turned to a pondering expression as if he was in deep thought, as he made an exaggerated movement with his hand and placed it below his chin.

'The windows are open. I can feel the breeze. It is also still a few minutes to dawn. By the light coming from the window, I would say I have around 10-15 minutes before it is dawn and someone enters.' Yi Yun recalled. It seems that the old Yi Yun was quite an early riser. Every day, at the first light of dawn, a servant would enter to rouse him from his sleep. He knew that the maid wouldn't be a minute late as this was a strict instruction given to her by his mother.

'Damn, this kid was actually really sincere; in my last life, I had gone to sleep numerous times at the time when he awakens. Usually, the old Yi Yun would have woken up before the servant entered and would have been filling out the tasks he intended to tackle that day in that notebook. tsk tsk, such a disciplined child.' Thinking so, Yi Yun couldn't help but gaze at the thin notebook placed at the desk a few paces away from the bed he was sitting on. Right next to the table was a bookshelf filled with tons of books, and the topmost shelf was full of primitive notebooks similar to the one on his desk.

'Now that I have assessed the present or rather have some manner of information about it. Time to address the main issue at hand. What the hell happened back there? The last thing I remember is going to the awakening ceremony, standing there next to the youths. Was there an attack? But that didn't happen in the book. Moreover, the attack should have been for Fang Yuan as he was the one creating waves with his achievements. But putting myself in the shoes of the demonic gu master that must have been hired, after seeing that Fang Yuan had C-grade aptitude, there wasn't any reason to kill him. Moreover, a rank 4 Gu master was there as well. No sane man would try an assassination in such a location and time, but demonic Gu masters aren't known for being sane.' regarding this, Yi Yun was extremely puzzled. His eyes suddenly widened as he realized something.

'Since I don't recall the awakening ceremony, I do not know what my aptitude is, nor can I recall which Fang Yuan this is. This assassination was real- Wait, what if this wasn't an assassination? What if my memories were altered by someone? What if it is already days or months after the awakening ceremony.' Thinking so, Yi Yun couldn't help but panic as he rushed towards the primitive calendar in his room. Upon gazing at the date, he couldn't help but sigh with relief.

'So it is a day after the awakening ceremony. We should be getting our Gu worms today, or was it the orientation? It's been so long since I read RI. Wait, that isn't the important issue right now. What is my aptitude, and who the hell tampered with my memory.' Yi Yun anxiously thought as many scenarios went thorough his head, of some demonic gu master taking them, some rank 3 elder of the rival faction messing with his father, some random gu master misfiring the Gu worm.

'No, this is a waste of time.' Yi Yun thought as he looked out the window. The Sun was beginning to set. It was almost morning.

'I need to get a weapon quickly.' Yi Yun thought as he quickly made his way to the cupboard.

'Come on where is it? Where is it? I know this bastard keeps a few knifes hidden in his room.' Just at this moment Yi Yun's hand brushed past a book with a white cover, it looked quite ordinary, it's title was 'History of the Gu Yue Clan'.

'Found it.' without wasting any more time, he quickly opened the book, went to the 56th page, and ripped open the stuck pages, finding a small knife hidden there along with some medicinal herbs. He then placed the knife inside his right arm's sleeve, hiding it within. The herbs he placed somewhere within his robes. He then went to a couple more places and took 3 more hidden knives from them. He placed one in his left sleeve. While 2, he hid in his boots.

'I feel a little safer now. Although this is useless in front of Gu, beggars can't be choosers.'

He then went to his study table and sat down, reading through his notebook in hopes of finding clues.

After some time, a female human with fair skin and a relatively plain face entered the room in a maid's dress. She appeared to be in her late teens. The most noticeable trait of her face would be the long eyelashes along with a small beauty mark on her chin. She saw that her young master was awake and busy.

Gazing at such a scene, she couldn't help but feel proud of how diligent and disciplined her young master was. Looking at his face, she couldn't help but be mesmerized by that serious-looking face. Actually, on looks, Yi Yun could be said to be a little above average, but it was nothing impressive. The thing this maid was most mesmerized with was the wealth that Yi Yun's family had, along with how marrying him could free him of his commoner status.

The illustrious, seriously thinking face that she imagined was merely her hormones getting the better of her, causing her to misjudge reality. Suddenly, the maid stopped gazing at Yi Yun's face with a dreamy look as she remembered the reason she was here, "Young master, the Lady is calling for you in the dining hall; she seems to have something important to inform you."

'After 57 seconds of entering you open your mouth and don't even bother to say Good Morning to your master. tsk tsk what an impolite maid.'

'Mother is calling me. Wonder what she wants? Maybe she knows what happened.' thinking so Yi Yun stood up and instructed, "Let my mother know I wi-"

"There will not be a need for that." A deep, strict voice interrupted him midway. Upon hearing just the first syllable Yi Yun was shocked as his eyes widened. He knew who this voice belonged to; he knew who this was. It was his father. He had finally appeared.

A million thoughts ran through Yi Yun's head for a couple of second he just stood there with his mouth open gazing at his father in shock. Then he realized he was being impolite and bowed 90 degrees and greeted, "Yi Yun greets father. The cold breeze of the morning has turned warmer upon your arrival."

Upon seeing his greeting, his father just tersely nodded in reply. Seeing his father's shadow nod, Yi Yun hurriedly stood straight at attention and patiently gazed at his father. Who appeared to be a tall man middle-aged man with long black hair. He exuded an aura of respect, and his face made one think that he was extremely strict.

This was Yi Yun's father, a middle-aged rank 3 elder of the Gu Yue clan. He was part of the clan leaders faction and his main business was landowning. He was a strict and just elder. Judging by Yi Yun's behavior, it was obvious that he had been beaten a lot by his father when he was young. While the joy hidden deep within his eyes displayed how he yearned for his father's affection. The old Yi Yun, that is. The new one suddenly felt these emotions when he saw this middle-aged guy and decided not to resist them.

Suddenly, as if his father remembered something, he smiled and spoke, "Yi Yun have you been well?"

Upon seeing the smile, Yi Yun smiled brightly but was shocked inwardly. 'What the fuck! Why is this old guy behaving so nicely? In all 15 years of Yi Yun's life, he never once smiled at him, let alone ask him how he was doing. It had always been him training Yi Yun in something or beating Yi Yun for a mistake.'

Yi Yu hurriedly bowed and spoke, "Yi Yun is extremely well now that father is here. Your presence illuminates the darkness of dawn, removing all traces of solemnity."

"Hahaha little Yi you don't have to be so formal with me. I am your dear father after all. Just speak freely." his father joyfully replied.

Upon seeing this, Yi Yun felt like wanting to vomit, but the years of aristocratic training, the old Yi Yun helped him from changing his expression. As he just smiled joyfully.

This guy who never once gazed at him warmly actually called him little Yi. What the fuck! This is unprecedented.

'Did my father also get his memory tampered with?' was his first thought.

'His second one being this retard, this idiot he actually believed his father's sincerity? What kind of food do you eat for your brain to turn into seaweed. This isn't even the Eastern Sea.'

"Hahaha I am overjoyed father." Yi Yun replied with joy.

At this moment, something really unique happened. Both father and son stared at each other. One with a warm smile gazing warmly at his son. The other with a joyful smile as if he was a dehydrated man who just found water.

1 second

2 second

For a grand total of 15 seconds both father and son just stared at each other smiling ear to ear. Just when the maid was about to feel terrified an even grander voice said, "Haha so this is your son Elder Yi."

Yi Yun turned towards the voice and his heart almost fell out of his mouth. For in front of him was the one and only Gu Yue Clan head.

"Pride of the Yi family he is. I taught him everything he knows myself."

"Hm, indeed, his temperament is good as well." the clan leader spoke while gazing at Yi Yun, who, for the second time today, had his mouth opened in an O and his eyes wide as saucers.

"Ahem, Yi Yun greets the esteemed clan leader. It is my great honor for the esteemed clan leader to complement my mediocre skills." Yi Yun greeted with an aristocratic smile, the corner of his lips slightly red. It was obvious that Yi Yun had to bite his lips to recover. The shock was too great for Great Immortal Yi.

"hahah little Yun'er.."

"hahaha academy student Yi.."

"hahaha, you think too highly of me..."

Like this, the conversation continued for some time. During this, both the Clan Leader and Elder Yi conversed with each other. Well, it was mostly the Clan Leader and Elder Yi talking with each other and praising Yi Yun and asking him questions about the clan and general life. While Yi Yun being shit scared and being humbler than a dog being beaten.

[A/N: It's 2 am and I couldn't think of a better analogy lol.]

Oh yeah and the maid was just kneeling there on the ground silently trembling in fear.

'What do both these old fuckers want? Did they take away my memories?'

"Well academy student Yi I will be direct now." The Clan Leader spoke with a serious and solemn voice.

Yi Yun sneaked a peek at his father and found him to be just as serious if not more.

"The reason I came here to meet you is..."

At this, Yi Yun's ears perked up, and he was fully attentive. His smile turned to a solemn expression, and he intently gazed at the Clan Leader.

"...Yi Yun come with me to the Blood Pond Graveyard tonight..."

At this Yi Yun was shocked once more as only one thing came to his mind once he heard the words Blood and Graveyard was...

'First Gen Gu Yue, why does he want me to go there? Unless... there is no fucking way... I can't be so unlucky...'

"...I will explain everything regarding your missing memories as well afterward."

'WHAT THE FUCK!?'

"What the FUCK?!"
