59 Rule Three

As Andrea strode down the hallway towards the elevators, Kyle had to jog a little to catch up with her.

"Kind of impressive in a way, don't you think," Kyle called after her as she strode on ahead. "I never had any idea I had such a rogues' gallery of scary people with an axe to grind with me."

Andrea didn't say anything. She needed to have words with him, but not here in the hallway. She was still mad at Kyle for the way he had once again barged his way into her life uninvited, as her client, into her apartment, and now into her office—

"It wouldn't be so bad, except it sounds like some of them might actually be handy with an axe…" he said.

—And mostly, she was scared for him. The list of criminals and murderers Madison had put together was the stuff of nightmares, but he didn't seem to be taking it seriously. He managed to stay so calm while she was so worried, which made her resent him for making her feel this way.

…Emotions were complicated.
