Chapter Forty Eight

"Jenna!"

"Jenna!" My whole strength came out in my voice. How dare she? She's brave enough to touch what's mine?

"Ronald! What happened? You're showing me your face now after the party and now you're yelling. What happened?" Mom comes down holding a glass of wine. As usual unaware of Rose's situation.

"Where's she?" I asked my mom.

"What happened?" My ears hear footsteps coming from the left side. There she is simply as a proud shitty woman. That fucking smile coming after she hurt her. Who gave her that right to smile after hurting my Rose?

"How dare you?" Don't know why I'm so eager to kill her? Grabbing her from the neck I pin her against the wall. The screams ran in the whole apartment.

"Ro.." Mom started pushing me away from her but how can I let her go like that.

"How dare you touch her? How dare you give her wounds? How dare you play with her in my absence?" With each word, my grip went tight. She's trying to free me from my hand but nothing. The face who's showing me a fucking smile before now totally went blank.

"Ronald, you're going to kill her." Mom trying to call someone.

"That's why I'm here." Her color is going white on her face. The girl that I left with a smile now sleeping in hell with so much pain.

"Mr. Ronald please." It's Theo's voice who's trying to keep her free from my anger or grip.

"Don't come in front of me or I'll kill you." She coughed hard when I took my hand back. Mom grabbed her and started checking. Even though she's unaware of the accident.

"Ronald! Have you lost your mind?" Mom picked her up and shouted for water.

"Yes. Do you know what she'd done?" Mom looked away. Wait! She knows.

"What are you going to do the same with me?" Mom? She's really on her side and trying to harm her. Fuck everyone wants her gone. After a long time, I found her, and... even mom, gave her applause. Wow... incredible.. running my fingers in my hair I laugh at Rose's situation. But now she's with me, under my protection. How can I let her go from my side?

"Mom touched her again or I'll forget our relationship. This is my last warning. You want her gone but I'm not. She's under my protection. If I find out any of you land their hands on her then.." That's my last words to them like a warning.

Theo showed me CCTV footage in which she's trying to harm her but then I saw him. That person. Who's he? He's wearing a suit. It's not simple wear. His personality shows that he's not a simple person. He's already in his aura of power. Expensive suits caught my eye first. But we're unable to catch the face.

"Sir we're trying to track him but in the next two blocks we lost." I nod while watching the video. She's looking so weak in front of him. Why? Why is she so scared of him? Why is she unable to fight? Body language is very dull and numb.

"Sir, the police have already started investigating the accident. Can we give.."

"No, until she wants to. It belongs to her. We can't risk her. It's her past. Let it be a simple accident." They nod.

"What about Jenna?"

"Block her from living peacefully." They nod.

"But find who's he? Past and present everything." When they left me alone I sat near her. She's lying so peacefully like nothing happening around her.

"You know how much I hate this sound." The sound of beep beep coming from the monitor. The line of her heartbeat keeps running but it belongs to my heart. Her skin was so cold when it came to my touch. The pink lips look purple. Because of the coldness, she lost her warm feeling.

"Every time I see you in front of him it looks like I'm watching you die. Why do you stop fighting? The horror in your eyes is not simple. You're hiding something big." She's motionless laying not answering but the sound of machines answering instead of her. Outside is just dark like my life that scares me.

The next day the news spread everywhere like a fire. Fuck that gossip channels. Why are they always running around me? Every social media is full of my photo with Rose. Thank fuck her face still in dark. It's outside the hospital when we shift her to another hospital.

"Looks like my personal life is more important than other things. I like it when I'm in the news but this time we need to be more careful. He's waiting for another chance. He failed this time and he'll come back with more power. I'm sitting here, you may leave now." The security was always running around the hospital even in front of Rose's room. This time Theo is taking care of everything. All gone and left me alone with her. Every hour filled with worry and every hour passed my heart sank deep in the water. Why is she not waking up?

Finally I saw her there standing alone in a beautiful view. She's looking gorgeous wearing a wedding dress. The greenery around her, the butterflies and flowers looking happy after watching her. A tiny butterfly came and sat on her shoulder.

"Rose!" She's so busy playing with them. Why is she not hearing my voice? My foot carried me to her. As soon as I put my hand on her shoulder the view turned into thunder, dark.

The shine went with the clouds and black clouds covered the whole area. My body went cold when I saw her. She's covered with blood. The front and back are full of red. It's ruined now.

"Ronald!" She was crying watching me and she looked behind her. What's that? My eyes follow her gaze. Someone standing there. But who? He's wearing the same clothes as I saw in the video.

"Go Ronald before he sees you." Her blood covered hands pushed me away from her.

"Not without you." She shook her head and looked behind again. My hands slipped from her when I held it. Her crying came in my ears from everywhere.

"You need to go away." Before I did something he grabbed her and screamed and turned beep and beep. She's calling me but I'm only hearing the sound of a beep.

"Ronald!"

"Ronald!" Huh...Huh...

"Get up... y..are dreaming." My eyes open suddenly to her voice. Her eyes are wide open but it's tiring.

"Hey! Are you okay? What happened to you? Are you hurt? Any pain? Do you need something to drink? Water?" The tired and sleepy eyes land on me.

"You're here. I.. never thought..." She stopped talking when a strike of pain hit her. Shit! A gasp comes from my mouth also.

"Where am I? What… What happened to.." She's trying to remember what happened to her.

"Wait! I need to call the doctor." After checking up she went to sleep again. Fuck I need to talk to her. When is she going to let me hold her? Rubbing my neck, my foot keeps walking here and there. There's an itching running in my body. She's fine but still, why'd I be scared?

"Sir, we can take her home if you want. I think it's safe for Miss Rose." Yes, it's safe and better for her. No one was allowed there until I gave my permission.

"What about the news?"

"Sir, rumors are already spreading about you and Miss Rose. They want to know what kind of relationships.."

"Explanation? Does this kind of word exist for me?" My challenging eyes run on our security.

"No sir, we are already working on it. I can arrange the discharge papers and a nurse." Fine. Everyone is gone except Theo.

"What?"

"Sir. Mrs. Jessie."

"What?" He handed me a paper on which Jessie handwritten I can see.. That hospital name I know somewhere. Wait! She was...

"Yes sir, she's the one who took Rose to the hospital.."

"And left her alone in that fucking trash for dying." With each word, my voice goes louder. The paper that I'm holding a minute ago is now in my fist as a ball.

"When she changed her pure soul into evil. How? Why?"

"Because I don't want her around you." There's her standing like a witch. First time I'm hating her after what she did.

"Why?"

"Because she's messing with you. Look at your reputation. You're the Ronald who's famous for his playboy image or the CEO of Parker's. You're losing yourself behind her. Because of her, people keep targeting you." Looking around I saw her laying or sleeping without knowing how her friend left her alone in danger.

"I don't care."

"But I cared about my brother who's forgetting himself when he's around her. Focus on your dream Ronald, not her." What I'm hearing now? Can I believe in myself?

"You're not her friend. We're done now."

"Ronald.."

"Shut the fuck up before I forget about the relation. Today you're blessed with a baby. It happened because she saved you. She's crying and begging me when I stop her. It's not because she loves you. She's always the same Rose who sacrifices herself and puts herself in danger for others but we forget how much she means to us."

"You know what? I'm done talking. Theo showed her the door."
