35 CHAPTER 34

Raven's POV

I walked in through the grand entrance of the Company building and all the heads suddenly turned around to look at me. I kept my gaze on the phone which was in my hand as I passed by all the prying eyes. I never wanted to come to this inauguration party if it was not for Mother's friend's company. I rubbed my temple. The headache seemed to get worse than it was in the morning.

"Would you like a cup of coffee Mr.Lorraine?" My secretary Christine, who was walking behind me along with some other employees asked me. I wanted to refuse but the headache didn't look like it would come down any time soon and so I gave her a quick nod. She walked back, out of the door we entered few moments back and I stepped into the elevator to go to the top floor where the inauguration party was being held.

There were three other men who were standing beside me in the elevator. They were not my employees but had name badges so probably were of the company which was inaugurated today morning. The elevator came to a stop on the 24th floor and the three men got out. Wasn't the party on 25th floor? Then why did they get out here.

I shrugged to myself as the doors started sliding close.

"No no no please don't close"

I heard a grumbling voice but decided to ignore it.

"Stop the freaking lift"

My brows furrowed as I put my hand between the doors and held it open. I expected a women to come in but what I could see coming was a stack of files, piled up to the nose of the person and I could hardly see their face. I looked down and saw black pencil heels.

Okay that's definitely a women.

She walked in quickly but carefully, not to drop the files and stood behind me.

"Ground floor" She panted from behind the stack in her hands and I turned around, furrowing my brows.

"Excuse me?" Is she serious? I did not come all the way up to 24th floor to go back to the ground floor.

"Comm'on. I'm already late." She tapped her foot on the floor uncontrollably.

Ugh, irritating.

I pressed the ground floor button and the elevator started going down. There was pin drop silence. I liked it, until she decided to ruin it by tapping her foot on the floor again. I frowned and turned to face her, wanting to tell her to stop doing that but before I could open my mouth, the elevator stopped abruptly and the lights went off. Damn it.

Her foot stopped tapping on the floor. Thank Goodness. There was a moment of silence in the dark when I heard a thud on the elevator floor.

Did she finally drop the stacks?

I sighed and put on the flash light of my phone and flashed it on the floor to help her. The files were definitely on the floor but to my surprise, so was she. Her back was against the metal wall and legs folded close to her chest as she circled her arms around her knees. She was visibly shivering as I crouched down to her level.

"Are you alright Miss?" She did not respond. Is she a claustrophobic by any chance? I raised my brows. Maybe. I touched her folded arms slightly.

"Do you need help?" Wow, I could be this gentle. She slightly relaxed on my touch and slowly raised her head up to face me.

The black orbs that stared up at me were probably one of the most innocent ones I had ever witnessed. Little plump lips which were quivering slightly and flushed cheeks. Oh good Lord. Is she real?

She whispered something ever so softly, her lower lip trembling but it did not reach my ear.

"What was that?" I leaned down, bringing my ear close to her face.

"D-dark...Dark" She stuttered.

Oh, not claustrophobic then.

"Dark" She repeated, her warm breath fanning my neck and I realized I was still very close to her.

I backed away a little and stood up.

What do I do now?

I took out my phone. Dialing Christine's number I pressed the phone to my ear and she picked up after two rings.

"What the fuck is wrong with the elevator" I lowly growled into the phone not wanting to scare the already scared women on the floor beside me.

"Huh? I'm sorry, are you still in the elevator Sir?" She sounded more surprised then I heard her on the day of her promotion.

"Send help. Now" I hung up and sighed. I could not believe this company just inaugurated today and their elevators were already jammed. I looked down at the girl. She had buried her face back into her knees and I could not help but crouch down to her again.

"Hey, it's alright." I placed my hand on her shoulder and she looked up again through her lashes. God, she looked unreal. I was admiring her face when the elevator jerked down suddenly and the phone slipped from my hand and fell down on the floor as darkness enveloped around us again. The flashlight was facing against the floor which made it impossible for my eyes to see where it was. I was looking for it when I suddenly felt her arms circle around my waist and pressed her body onto mine. Her face was buried in my chest and she was panting slightly. My hands went around her on their own before I could even help it and rested it on her lower back. Her breasts were pressed against my abdomen and I could feel they were.....full. My Goodness!

She did not seem to loosen her grip around me and I found it really difficult to distract my mind from...whatever that was pressing against me.

We sat there for around ten minutes. She didn't let go of me and neither did I. Then suddenly, the lights flickered and finally lit up as it blinded me for a moment. I looked down at her and her face was still buried in my chest. Dark brown hair. Down till her lower back where my hand rested. Perfect. I patted her back softly and after a pause, she retreated her face staring at my chest and then looked up. My breathing faltered for a moment.

Beautiful, so fucking beautiful.

Milky white skin that had her black eyes standing out on her face. She seemed equally stunned looking at my eyes as she stared at me with slightly parted lips.

Why do people get easily obsessed with my eyes?

We realized we were still holding each other and she was the first one to let go. I backed away as well and stood up holding out my hand for her.

She readily took it and stood up but tripped over her heels and landed straight on her knees. I chuckled internally. Clumsy!

She looked up and smiled nervously and stood up steady on her feet. "Thank you" she softly said. I sighed quietly. Beautifully Clumsy!

The lift gave another jerk and started moving down. Thank God. She crouched down, picking up the files and I helped her with it, and then picked up my phone too. The door slid open at the ground floor and I saw Christine standing at the door.

"Sir are you ok–" she paused when she saw the person beside me and she flashed her the same nervous smile to Christine. I took the stacks from her and handed it over to Christine, who looked confused as I turned to face the women beside me. "Where to?"

"Huh?"

"My secretary will deliver it to wherever you want, just let her know" I told her and motioned Christine who seemed still confused but nevertheless nodded her head and walked away.

The women beside me looked at me and flashed me the heart racing smile before walking away to follow Christine. I looked at her until she disappeared from my view and smiled to myself before pressing the 25th floor button and the elevator door shut. I swore if it jammed one more time I would sue this company which I myself inaugurated that morning. But luckily it didn't and slid open to my floor. As I stepped forward, I felt something under my shoes and looked down at the elevator floor. A metal plate. I bent down and caught it between my fingers as I read the engraved name on it.

Her name badge. I smiled to myself, slipping it inside my pants pocket and walked into the hall with her name swirling in my head and rolling over my tongue.

"Kim Areum"
