CHAPTER 21

The kingdom was in peril as all they had were the metal coins. The nobles had a lot of food that was stored due to their sight on the world while others sold all they had. John let all the people come back and let them be under the protection. The walls were risen and the houses were built. John was going to keep the people back and be disconnected from the kingdom. He wanted to see how they will try to overcome it. No matter whatever the reason is, the people cannot rebel against the king as the king were stronger one. This was truer in the fantasy world as the strongest ones were the king and the commers were nothing more than the weak ones. He just wanted to see the fun. The commoners will suffer and the middle class will suffer more. The kingdom will lose a lot of talent as the most of the middle men came from the commoners even though they will not care about the commoners later. The kingdom will fall back and the stronger kingdom will challenge them. The neighboring kingdoms will try to fight against them and they will not be able to move the army as they have not much food. If they fight the war, they will lose the bottom people and it will take a long time to return back the previous level of prosperity. If they try to negotiate, they will have to lose a lot of items and the royals and the lords will lose a lot.

John did not care much about it and waited to see the kingdom through the monitoring. It was interesting to see the wonderful fights. The knights were strong but not strong enough to stand against thousands. Many barons died but the ones above viscounts were able to successfully keep themselves safe from the rebellion. John looked at them and smiled and let them fight. He wanted to have a better war and created a different sword using carbon steel. The sword was made stronger using power and the sword was made much sharper than any other sword. The swords were kept at the places were the rebels could find it and they could cut through a mage simply by this sword. 

The kingdom had a downfall and when they understood the power of the sword, they used the grand mage used the summoning magic to call all the swords. He could keep the swords from being summoned but he did not care. To let the rabbit bite you, you have to let it have some hope.

Princess Rosaline came to the village where there was supposed to be a mage of level 6. She looked at the wonderful city tones in gold. She did not believe that this was gold as gold was not so strong. The whole city was covered by huge walls and she could understand that the walls were at the level of an imperial city. Such mages were above other mages and could not be challenged by anyone of the equal status. 

She did not know why the mage wanted to let the kingdom be in peril and she wanted to take care of it. She was sent of as an offering as a choice if the mage wanted her. If the mage does not like her, she will be allowed to return and have freedom for some more time before she would be sold off to someone. She was not so scared as she knew that that man was not interested in women. Most of the women of the world were equally beautiful which meant that the princess was as beautiful as the village girl. He does not need to hide the fact if he slept with someone and the fact that he had not slept with such women along with the statement that he likes women would only mean that most likey he is a sage staying away from mortal pleasures.

Princess Rosaline and the mages besides her walked and nocked on the gate. It was opened and she could see a metal puppet and she told to the puppet, "I am princess Rosaline, the daughter of the king of Glacolia. I am here to negotiate for the war."

The puppet talked in a normal human voice, "We will inform the lord."

It did not take much time before the puppet replied, "Please come in."

Rosaline had read much about puppets and the ones with transmission magic was hard to come by as they were unnecessary and the waste of magic and resources. It seems like the lord here was more sensual. Why does he not like the women? Is he like, her brother who likes men or is he like her father who likes women but stays away from them due to their own reasons. Maybe he might be a clean freak. She giggled thinking about the funny stories about his father and how he had cast ten of cleaning magic on the queen before he had some relationship with her. If he is so then this mage is an innocent child who has stayed away from the society and could be taken advantage off.

She entered and saw the servants and soldiers. All of them were of subquality in terms of power and in terms of discipline. The tens of thousands of puppets were indeed interesting and it seems he is going on the route of an alchemist. It was interesting to find these many soldiers. The ones who can compare to these were the necromancers and the elemental summoners. She saw the knight and her fiancée. She was indeed beautiful. Rosaline used a detection spell and found that she was indeed more beautiful than her and was still untouched. If she could get the mage to marry her then she may be able to have him all to himself. If so her status will grow as the only wife of duke has higher status than one of the queens of the king.

She entered and saw the man and bowed to him. John said to her to sit down and she sat down. The mages and knights were outside and the only one who came with her was another mage who was the companion of Princess Rosaline. Mage Joana smiled and stood at the side.

John looked at both of them and smiled. They had the noble demeanor and were attractive. John looked at the mage standing at the side and asked her to sit down. Joana smiled and said, "It is my duty to serve the princess."

Rosaline said with a hearty smile, "Sit down. We are not that apart to follow protocol everywhere."

John looked at them and asked, "Are you on behalf of your kingdom or on behalf of yourself?"

Rosaline asked, "Does it matter?"

John said, "A little bit. The direction of the conversation is always dependent on the situation the conversation is in and is about."

Rosaline said, "The king wants an alliance. Someone has flooded the kingdom with gold, silver and copper and the food and items were taken away. It is hard for the citizens to survive."

John wanted to know her view on the commoners and hence asked, "What about the commoners?"

Rosaline said, "Does it matter!"

John said, "It does not."

Rosaline asked, "We would be happy to exchange things and knowledge for food and weapons. Seeing that you are a metal mage or more specifically an alchemist, we can give you the books of knowledge and the items."

John said with a sigh, "I really care for your kingdom but I cannot care for such a big piece of land. I also have to take care of the people under me and cannot take part in the war as you cannot pay me."

Rosaline said, "The heritage of a millennium kingdom does not hold on the masses but on the riches amassed. The knowledge we have and the materials we have is far more than any academy or inheritance could hold. We can indeed pay you but we do not need your help for now. Those rebels can be killed easily."

John said, "I heard that there is a fifth order mage among them."

Rosaline said, "We have an army of mages."

John said, "How do you expect me to get the food?"

Rosaline said, "The elves."

John said, "It is useless to plunder from them. They are too poor."

Rosaline said, "You are one of the few who have a relationship with the elf tribe. You can try to contact the elf queen or the kingdom behind her. The tribe is something similar to the village of the humans."

John said, "Then we humans should be in trouble."

Rosaline said, "We may be low in number of low tier fighters but the strong ones among us are many and they have a few. You get us food and we offer you other things. We can get you the knowledge up to level 7 of metal magic and alchemy."

John said, "If you make it for the knowledge of level 8 fire and wood magic I am interested. I can get you food for all the people of your kingdom for a year.."

Rosaline said, "One cannot live on sea food."

John asked, "Are you saying that the nobles were fools to sell all the food they had without leaving for themselves anything? This is for the commoners. You are not fools to let them leave the kingdom as population is power. You have to face the other kingdoms too. Get me the complete set of inheritance and I shall give you that much sea food."

Rosaline said, "We cannot give level 8 inheritance."

John thought for a moment and tried to get information related to inheritance and found that he could let the metal project all the information about spells and methods. He did not need any knowledge and decided to not take the offer, "Change in plans. I have no interest in exchanging for the knowledge."

Rosaline found that the mage in front of him had contacted someone and then decided to change his idea. He knew that this man was at least of level 7 and there was only one mage in her kingdom of level 7. Level 8 inheritance cannot be given to others. John looked at her and said, "I have no interest in having any exchange. I want to see how you will get out of this situation. You will have to face the war from other kingdoms and even if you pacify them, you will have to fight against other races. All knows that I have no relation with your country and will not block them. The goblins from the east will like to stay in the weak country and will attack you. How will you get out."

Joana smiled and said, "What can you know? You are nothing more than a level 7 mage. The power of the kingdom is not something that a single person can content with."

John created a level 9 magic circle and Joana shut down. A level 9 mage is something that could destroy their kingdom. Joana kneeled down but John did not care. John looked at them and said, "I have no interest in your kingdom and there is nothing that you can give me. I am something akin to the alchemist in your words and the items to create the palace, roads, desks and clothes is not needed to be exchanged. The food is only needed for me and there is nothing that I need. I have reached the same state again. There is nothing that I need from you."

Rosaline heard the meaning of the words and smiled. it seems that he is not an inheritor but a person who was reborn. No wonder he suddenly became a level 9 mage at this age. He should have kept silent to wait till he was strong enough to face an empire or the religion. She knew how to make him happy. She understood him. His eyes had lust but he did not care for her and her servant. He seems to not like them due to lack of beauty. Maybe he may from a far of plane with much more beautiful women. He could take the kingdom but he did not which means he was not a king and was not interested in ruling but the fact that he has subordinates would mean that he wanted to be the ruler of the organization. She thought about it and said, "How about the whole kingdom sir?"

John looked at the women who was saying gibberish. He looked at her and asked, "What do you mean?"

Rosaline looked at her and said, "How about you support me and I let the kingdom be under you? You can support me and let me become the queen and let the kingdom be queendom and let it be under me. I will be under you and take care of the kingdom for you. You will be the supreme lord and will be named the lord of the nation and I will manage the nation."

John smiled and said, "I have no interest in letting others rule for me. I will rules till where I can rule. I have no interest in supporting a puppet."
