I wanted to disappear.

Didn't want to live yet too afraid to die.

Whoever is within me isn't so good.

Thought it better to hide it with lies.

I wear a mask alone in a forest where nothing grows.

I want to be closer to you but I'm so afraid.

Some words are too scary and better left unsaid.

My tears remain within shadows.

Courage is my wish but I'm so scared.

You don't know me and I've forgotten who I was.

I see your smile and pray it could be shared.

Surrounded by thorns, I'm only a sparrow.
