Final Reward

Infinity City was divided into five concentric rings, with the gutter area making up the outermost. Each zone was further divided into four sections, playing host to people of various nationalities.

While, on a global scale, this description might appear questionable, it made sense in terms of population distribution. National prowess held little relevance in Infinity City; it was the people who mattered. Therefore, the division of Infinity City was wholly dependent on population statistics.

The raised platform on the hill to the east was the one place all newcomers found themselves post-mission, thus, fondly dubbed 'newbie spawn region' by the adventurers. A set of seasoned adventurers would regularly extort the newly arrived on rotation, Wyatt included, all having been victims of such practices themselves.

Keanu, seated on the hill, sought out the three remaining boxes he'd acquired during his time in the Van Helsing world, the loot dropped by Verona and Aleera encased within them.

The system command popped: "Based on your performance during your confrontation with Aleera and Verona, you have earned Basic Rewards. No additional rewards for newcomers. However, for eliminating an extra vampire bride, you receive a slight bonus."

The system netted two "Vampire Fang" to start, then moved to:

"Acquired Aleera's Longing: Tears of crystal pendant. The beautiful young Aleera had a lover in life. She crystallized her feelings for him into this pendant—the Tears of Crystal—to commemorate their enduring love. This pendant can log the information of a significant friend, allowing you to track their whereabouts regardless of distance. It can be used once per task world, and only for one person at a time."

"Acquired Verona's Cunning: Tears of Crystal Pendant. Verona, a clever, cautious, and reserved vampire bride, unlike her sisters, offered herself up willingly to Dracula out of love. She transformed her feelings for Dracula into this pendant to help him detect potential enemies and preempt any deceit. This pendant can store the information of a stranger, exhibiting their amicability or ill-will towards you, protecting you from being fooled. It can be used thrice per task world, and only for one person at a time."

"You've acquired the crystalline pendants of all three vampire brides. Would you like to fuse them? Post-merging, the pendant will collectively possess the basic functions of all three Tears of Crystal."

"Proceed with the fusion."

The three luminous Tears of Crystal pendants in Keanu's hand emitted a glint of light, automatically merging into one, forming an entity with three crescent-shaped crystals.

"The Tears of Crystal pendant, a special trinket that allows you to find friends, guard against enemies, and discern friend from foe. While it may not provide you with direct and powerful combat ability, it can help you avoid unnecessary damage. Cherish it, as you would your life."

Reading the inscription on the pendant, Keanu let out a soft chuckle and tucked it back into his emblem.

Infinity City had strict rules for equipment. Although theoretically, you could wear countless necklaces, only one would ever exert its attribute effects. However, the benefit of the Tears of Crystal pendant was that it was for non-combat use. Therefore, not having it around your neck wouldn't hinder its usage. It can function like a consumable item that can always be used. Still, features like warding off surprise enemy attacks would only work when it's equipped.

Apart from these Basic rewards, the two vampire brides also gave Keanu two additional rewards: a low-quality, level-less dagger, and a pair of boots that increase running speed.

The boots did not add any attributes but came with a Sprint Battle Skill.

Sprint Battle Skill: Upon activation, increases the user's movement speed by 100%, lasting for 1 minute. The cooldown time is 10 minutes, and it consumes 2 SP. Only applicable in basic difficulty areas.

After opening the bride's boxes, Keanu opened the purple box that belonged to Dracula.

Just as he expected, the prompt informed him that his rewards would be influenced due to the assistance he received from significant plot characters during his battle against Dracula. The comprehensive appraisal of the fight said Keanu's contribution accounted for 38 percent, and he could only receive Basic item rewards.

"Basic Reward Vampiric Touch: High-quality D-level dagger, Attack 15-20, attacks come with vampiric effects, converting nine percent of damage into personal HP, fifty percent chance to bleed the target for 10 seconds, losing 2 HP per second. It can be combined with Vampire Fangs to upgrade the weapon. Battle Skill effect priority level 18."

Keanu's curiosity was piqued. He put the three fangs he got from the vampire bride onto the Vampiric Touch. The emblem immediately prompted: Do you want to blend the Vampire's Fangs with Vampiric Touch? The fusion requires 600 CP.

"Jeez!" Keanu softly cursed. Converging Tears of Crystal hadn't required CP; he didn't anticipate that merging the Vampiric Touch would cost up to 600 CP. Despite his shock, he quickly accepted.

The 3 Vampire Fangs gradually melted into the Vampiric Touch dagger. A red light flashed, and the emblem prompted, "Since these fangs belonged to Dracula's wives, they can perfectly merge with the Vampiric Touch. The fusion success rate is 100%, and the efficiency is 100%. Vampiric Touch: High-quality D-level dagger, Attack 15-20, attacks come with vampiric effects which can convert 15% of damage into personal HP, and a 50% chance to inflict bleeding on the target, lasting 10 seconds, with 3 HP loss per second. It can be merged with Vampire's Fangs, the weapon can be promoted and upgraded. Battle Skill effect priority level 30."

This Vampiric Touch could be considered a standard weapon for close combat. Now, having been guided by Wyatt, Keanu had a clear understanding. When the emblem doesn't give a CP standard for an item, it means the city itself doesn't sell it. So, even though it's a D-level weapon, its value cannot be calculated by the standards of D-level weapons.

Arguably the Vampiric Touch was a weapon with D-level ratings, but D+ level strength, not to mention it could be promoted and upgraded.

Promotion refers to an upgrade from D level to D+ or C level while upgrading increases the weapon's subsidiary attack power.

Apart from this weapon, there were three more item rewards.

"Dracula's Blood: Gives you advanced vampire bloodlines upon consumption. Requires 9000 CP if used by an adventurer. This bloodline is incompatible with others but can be upgraded to superior vampire bloodlines."

"Immortal Emblem: Worn on the chest. A proof of killing a high-level undead creature. Upon wearing, you will automatically gain the title of 'Undead Hunter,' causing all your attacks against undead creatures to deal 10% additional damage. This emblem can display your title, weakening the defense of undead creatures but may also incur the hatred of high-level undead creatures, making you a priority target. The emblem automatically records the number of undead creatures you hunt, and your title ability will be augmented when you have more outstanding achievements. This item belongs to the title class and cannot be transferred or traded."

"Intermediate Stamina Recovery Potion x3. Battle recovery item, restores 200 HP upon consumption, working against any damage. Worth 500 CP each."

"Phew!" Keanu breathed out a long sigh after reading about these items.

It's the last thing he'll ever get.

Despite his limited understanding of Infinity City, Keanu knew that his rewards from the beginner's task were quite abundant. Unfortunately, he also knew that subsequent tasks probably wouldn't yield such high return rates, which made him a tad melancholic.

To Keanu, Infinity City had become a place filled with promise.

He wasn't afraid of the potential threats; instead, he was interested in the sweet bait on the knife edges—the prospect of becoming stronger, acquiring various unique abilities, and even fulfilling some special wishes...

Every time he thought about this, Keanu would get a surge of excitement.

"Grace… wait for me!" The name was a whisper, a promise from the depths of his heart. Keanu found a purpose, a goal to strive for within Infinity City, regardless of the legitimacy of the ultimate task's rumored fulfillment of one's deepest desire.

Suddenly, the harmonic voice of a woman echoed from behind him, "Hey, hello, is this place Infinity City?"

A newcomer?

Turning his head, Keanu recognized her as the doe-eyed beauty who had quietly approached him before his newbie mission.

Luck seemed to favor her, there happened to be no one waiting to hustle the newbies at the moment, perhaps because Keanu himself was here. Astonishingly, she had an assault rifle slung over her shoulder.

"Just emerged from your newbie mission?" Keanu asked.

The woman nodded in confirmation. Clearly, she recognized Keanu as well.

Keanu smiled, "Impressive, managing to get your hands on an assault rifle."

Her brows furrowed, "My mission was in the Resident Evil storyline. This assault rifle is part of the rewards I narrowly escaped death to obtain."

"I see." Keanu reclined once more.

"Hey, would you mind explaining what's going on here?" she asked.

"Sure, for 50 CP." came his laid-back response.

Her attractive eyes widened, "Are you trying to shake me down?"

Grinning, Keanu replied, "There's a bar beyond that hill, you might get the information cheaper there. Oh, I should mention, no one can attack each other in Infinity City. Even if they put a nuclear bomb on your head, you wouldn't die."
