The carriage stopped in front of the Gentlemen's Club, and an elderly man in a uniform butler's suit greeted them at the entrance, checking them for something that Wolfe couldn't be certain of. He was scanning with magic, but Wolfe couldn't tell what the target of the cursory search was.

"Only magic users are allowed in the club, you see. If you don't show any signs of magic, you may not enter the party. So, everyone here is a Noble, and in this place, the proof of Noble heritage is as simple as the ability to use magic. 

The actual titles are hereditary and not based on strength, but if you cannot use it at all, you are ineligible to inherit." The Colonel whispered to the witches as they stepped forward to be announced at the door.

The General whispered something to the greeter, and then stepped forward.
