I blankly looked at the girl in front of me, 'you remember her name, but not mine' my mother sounded painful . 'it's not like that Mom' I said 'um, how can I help you' I looked at her, she was wearing a casual t-shirt and pyjamas. 

'you moron' she cried and tried to slap me, I quickly grabbed her hand and out of reflex I activated my power stone. The whole building started to shake, 'Kaneki you got a quirk' she said.

I deactivated my power stone and looked at my mother ' Mom can I talk with her in private', my mother looked upset but she eventually nodded. I grabbed her hand and ran downstairs to the park, the two bodyguards followed us.

I went near the seating area for parents and urged her to sit, 'so what's my story' I asked her with a pissed look, I have only watched up to six seasons of the anime so I didn't know that Momo had a back story. 'Kaneki, did you perhaps lose your memory' she said 'Don't you remember what happened'. I looked at her 'No I don't remember what happened so you tell me' I said 'And how are we both related'. 

She breathed slowly 'Listen do you remember anyone by the name of Hanabi Yamato' she said. I shook my head, I thought Momo was a genius in anime but why is she asking stupid questions? I don't remember her so obviously I won't remember anyone else, didn't I just say I don't remember?

'listen if you don't remember her it's in your best interest, leave her and focus on the future ahead of you alright, the future holds more potential than the past' she said, for which I cringed. Of course, she wants me to ask again, idiotic teenagers 'No I want to know the past as well, I don't want my past to haunt me in the future. Remember you are a part of the past as well so, if I want to forget the past then I have to forget you.' I threw a curveball at her, let's see how she reacts.

To no one's surprise she looked depressed and beads of tears formed in her eyes. 'listen, I will tell you the story but promise me that you will not chase her ever again' she said. I nodded, what does she mean by not chasing after her?

'you, me and that wretched girl were close friends, we played together and went to school together and we would hang out in each other's homes as well. but for some reason after Hanabi joined the final year in middle school she distanced herself from us when we asked her what is the reason ?' she stopped and looked at me with worry in her eyes 'She said that you didn't have a quirk, and she won't be spending time with losers like you .'

I looked at her, there was no way this body's owner was so pathetic that he committed suicide for such a reason. 'but you didn't want to leave her so you chased after her, saying things like you liked her and we were friends. but all she cared about was to be friends with me because of my parent's wealth, when I revolted against her idea as a reply she left us completely' 

She said 'Since you can't take the loss, so you fell from the top of the B-block building. I mean what's wrong with you, you have me right we are really good friends yet you wanted that disgrace of a girl.'

I inhaled, as I thought this owner was pathetic. pitiful to be exact, I've been using my mindstone to verify her claims and I can say that what she says is true.

'so now what are you going to do, are you going to chase her again? you are such a dummy, you have people who like you in front of you yet you want her' she asked while sobbing. I slowly patted her head, which made her look up 'Momo I'm a new person now, so you don't have to worry and I also have a quirk now so I won't be a pathetic loser like I used to be' I looked straight at her face, she had a beautiful face but It was tainted by red eyes and black circles, her face also looked a bit leaner.

'So what's up, with your face? you look like you haven't eaten in days and were you crying so much' I asked which stood up and wiped her eyes 'Of course you dummy, now stop looking at me'. wow, that is Momo Yaoyorozu, I have seen the anime multiple times and I know for a fact that she is different she is stern and strong-willed but now she looks like a child in puberty.

'hey come with me, let's have lunch' I said and grabbed her hand, for some reason her heartbeat was faster than usual I looked at her and she avoided eye contact at all costs.

'so, Kaneki since you have a quirk will be joining a hero course' she asked with a subtle side eye, I noticed it and ignored it. I could already see that this girl loved me more than anyone and there was a love triangle in my life I'm not like others to ignore these subtle signs and I can say that she was blushing while not looking at me.

'yes, I will be joining the hero course' I replied. 

'so, do you wish to join the UA, wait first what was your quirk? It looked really powerful' she asked. 

For which I just smiled.
