A Planet Called Earth

The roars of surprise and shock of the soldiers rang throughout the shock as Hael's furrowed eyebrows scanned around the room

Turning to look at the person beside him, he could almost swear that he saw him lose 50 pounds of fat!

"You all heard right, we will be going on an annihilation mission to eliminate an Eldritch's secret settlement in sector X. Do y'all have any questions..." Captain Aelia said as silence enveloped the room before the sound of murmurs immediately broke out among the soldiers.

Among them, one could say Hael was the most receptive. It was slowly unfolding before his eyes, and of course brought along with it its own fear due to shock and surprise. But the reality was beginning to unfold before his eyes.

This metallic magic doesn't exist in Aetheria. The Eldritch that are currently being mentioned right now were something that Hael had never come across before.

Something that could be considered strange based on Hael's exceptional scholarly ability.

The thought of having been transported to a new world made his heart pound in fear but also in anticipation of something new. But he needed more facts, more proof to conclude that this was really a different world.

"SILENCE!!!" The thunderous command came from none other than Aelia as the entire crew instantly fell silent.

"I believe we are all civil men. So how about a single voice and a single question at a particular time, hmm?" She asked as one of the soldiers at the front lines raised his hand.

"Yes. Go on..."

"Not to disrespect, Captain. But if we're to embark on a mission to eradicate a secret settlement of the Eldritch creatures with a number reaching up to 300! Isn't that suicide..." The soldier asked, drawing nods from others.

"And in what way is that?" Aelia asked with a raised eyebrow.

"We all know the Eldritch grow more powerful based on how much they have aged. A settlement like that will definitely possess old Eldritch reaching up to 30 to 40 years old.

The average 10-year-old Eldritch is twice stronger than the average 10-year-old human boy, due to their ability to harness the breath into their body.

A 17 to 25-year-old Eldritch will be equal in power to a grade one Core Enhancement awakener.

A 25 to 30-year-old Eldritch will be equal in power to a grade two core enhancement awakener. Any more above that, and it'll reach grade three.

None of us here are even close to grade two, and only you, Captain, are at grade two core enhancement.

If we dare strike and are faced with a 30+ year old Eldritch, we'll be slaughtered like chickens, Captain. This mission, I'm afraid, is too risky..." The soldier explained, as Hael's eyes gleamed in curiosity.

'So they measure their power not by opening the runic gates, but by some strange core enhancement.

And the Eldritch grow in power the longer they age? How come I have never heard of such a creature before?' Hael thought to himself as he turned his attention back to Aelia, who stood up from her sitting position on the dais and walked to the front.

"There is no need to remind me of the terror of the Eldritch creatures. I am already aware of it enough after four years of embarking on missions.

As for the mission, it sure is risky and could lead to a total annihilation of the crew, but the higher-ups would not send us to our death."

"According to the reports that I have, the Orama military group is currently in fierce battle with the Eldritch just around 50 kilometers away from their settlement.

The Eldritch have no idea that we have already locked on their settlement position and would be launching an attack. To face the full wrath of the Orama Military group, they have sent away the strong men, leaving only the Eldritch children and women.

As you all know, the female Eldritch are twice weaker than the male ones and also lack combat abilities.

This mission would be like luring the snake away to steal its eggs. The big trouble has already been gotten rid of. All we have to do is pick off the residue left..." Aelia said as the hall quieted down a lot after that.

"Besides, I am one of the best grade two core awakeners to ever exist on Earth, and the higher-ups wouldn't have placed me on this mission if they had even a single shred of doubt in my ability.

So you all just need to follow my orders and believe in me; this would be an easy-peasy mission." She said with confidence, although Hael's mind was currently elsewhere.

"So the name of the planet is called Earth, no wonder everything is so foreign to me. This isn't my world. This is an alien planet and probably one which is very advanced in the time frame compared to Aetheria..." Hael determined, once again awakened by the Captain's tough voice.

"That said, the mission has already been assigned to us, and the scale of this mission is far above what your puny minds can comprehend. You have one job and one job only: listen to orders. Are we clear!?" Aelia said as the soldiers all stood upright.

"That said, we're currently 500 meters above the secret base. You all should prepare for free fall..." Captain Aelia said and to Hael's shock, the ground beneath his feet suddenly gave in and in the next second, he found himself rapidly falling through the air as he was pulled down crazily by gravity!

"SHIT! SHIT! SHIT!" Hael screamed out as he closed in with speed on the ground, with not a single idea in his head.

It was far beyond doubt; he would be reduced to a pancake if he dared to land on the ground.

"Dying less than 30 minutes after my rebirth. In your dreams, Yama!!!" Hael screamed out with gritted teeth as he faced to the side and saw a figure by his side.

A figure who taught him what to do next and saved him from dying a stupid death.
