CHAPTER 9 : NEGOTIATING

After they had finished getting everything on the list, they headed back to the guild with full hands. Carrying the food items to the guild was one thing but getting into the organization's building was stressful as fuck. Eventually, we were able to get in and I put what was with me down and waited for Diana to do the same before we both went to take a seat.

Looking outside through the glass window of the building I could see it was already way dark and I have to go back to my cell before it gets too dark, so I stood up and was about to announce to the one sitting beside me that I would be retiring to my cell when I remembered that I still have to get a pass card from brandish or I wouldn't be able to go on the mission.

But I have one problem. I didn't tell brandish that I had gotten a team. Shit, I can't possibly tell him I needed a pass card.

'if I don't tell him why I need the pass card there is a huge possibility that hell get suspicious and might guess that I had disobeyed his orders.

still, I have to do something, I wanna leave the underground city. It's been so long since I actually felt the sun on my face and smelt the fresh scent of nature. I can imagine myself seating on the lush soft grass barefooted and feeling how smooth, cool and soft the grass was. Steering at the vast greenery with the wind blowing softly grazing the grass just enough to make it bend eliciting an image of the soft breeze making waves with the grasses.

i would give anythinh just to enjoy suvh beautiful sceneery, even if it's just for one time so i bravelly stood up, but because i stood up in such an abrupt manner the chair i was sitting on fell with a loud ''bang'' to the floor gaing the attention of Diana who found my sudden movement weird.

''is something wrong Alex?''.

''Oh, nothing, I'm okay it's just I just have to meet with someone. I will be back in a while

'' hmm you might not meet me here though.

''' what?''

'' I might have gone back to the dorm.. . oh, I see. That's not a problem then. I'll see you tomorrow? he said speeding off.

'' wait we still haven't discussed what time we will meet up again she yelled but Alex had already gone far so he wouldn't have heard her last sentence.

Immediately after Alex had left, was when the rest of the group finally showed up from where they went to.

You got to be kidding me. Fate!, Darn it.

running past grace I entered through the corridor and stood in front of Brandish's office trying to summon up my lost courage that I just felt a while ago but had just disappeared as I got closer to his office. Slowly but surely I knocked on the door and to my surprise, i suddenly found his courage back.

'' Alex?''. ''Boss can I talk to you for a moment, it won't take much of your time''.

No no, it's okay come he said looking surprised but glad. ''I thought you were still upset about last time. Boss, I am not anymore because I learned we should forgive those that might have angered us and let it pass. I was told that good things would happen to such people so I have been practicing forgiving people and boss had just happened to be the person I was upset at, at the moment but rest assured I don't have any more anger for boss.

Nodding his head. ''Okay, what are you here for .this old man will try to help you in any way I can''.

''That was a really reliving thing to say because this is regarding that quest''.

''oh for goodness sake Alex, I told you already. You are not allowed to do that. Shit, how many times do I have to say it?.

'' Hold on boss you just said you would help me in any way you can, so please listen.

''I already found a team, and I got a non-battle position. I just have to carry the bags of those that will be doing the actual fighting. if anything dangerous fight occurs, I just need to stand aside and let the others take care of it. See, it's a nice strategy, right?

'' hmm, I suppose it is, but I'm not fully convinced or happy about this development. so what exactly do you need from me?

'' the thing is I need you to give me a pass. I can't go anywhere if I don't have a pass you know, just give me a pass and ill be on my merry way. I promise I won't get killed boss, think of it as me going sightseeing. this is the only chance I have to see the outside world again, please don't ruin this for me. it is not every time a quest like this comes from the royals and allows prisoners to go outside.

'... ''. fine i will give you a pass, but what team are you on?.

'' Team ALPHA''.

''Team Alpha huh, okay. Pulling out a hard paper he scribbled something on it before handing it over to Alex, Here give it to Grace she will give you the pass.

''Now let's go see your teammates shall we,I have to see if there are a good group. How many A ranks and B ranks are in your group and tell me their function.

'''okay?, our team leader victor is an A rank, and we have two tankers, Dante and Henry who are both B rank, We have two magic casters one is an A rank that's Stella, and the other is a B rank Vita And we have our young healer her name is Diana and she is B rank, and I am the last a vessel.

''You have two A-rank members and four B-rank members. That does make a decent team.

saying that they both walked out of the corridor and went straight to Grace, Showing the paper to her Alex smiled. she took a short glance at Brandish who gave her a slight nod telling her to carry on.

''oh okay''. immediately he gave her the paper she exchanged it with another one, stamped on it, and passed it back to Alex.

''Thanks, boss, I owe you one. Shut it boy, so which one of them is your team he asked.

''grinning slightly he pointed towards his team. it's them he said, he was glad they were still around and so they both headed there.
